People Can Fly cancels two games and lays off developers

Engadget02-06-2025
People Can Fly, the developer of Outriders and Gears of War: Judgement , announced Monday that its ending development on two of its upcoming games due to issues with its publisher and an inability to secure funding to continue development. As part of this decision, People Can Fly will be forced "significantly regroup" and "scale down [its] teams," the studio's CEO Sebastian Wojciechowksi shared in a statement on LinkedIn.
The statement doesn't elaborate on how many staff will be impacted by the cuts, but does call out Project Gemini and Project Bifrost as the two games being cancelled. People Can Fly made the decision to shut down Gemini because the game's publisher failed to provide a publishing agreement and didn't communicate "its willingness to continue or terminate the Gemini project." Without that publishing deal or the funds to continue working on Bifrost — a self-published VR game — the studio was forced to cancel it, too.
This isn't the first time People Can Fly has shut down a project or made cuts to its teams. In December 2024, the studio announced that it was ending development on a game called Project Victoria and also reducing the number of people working on Bifrost. In that same announcement, People Can Fly also revealed that Square Enix was publishing Gemini.
People Can Fly last worked with Square Enix to publish Outriders, somewhat of a minor cult hit now, but not a commercial success at launch. Even with the cuts and cancelled games, the studio still has multiple upcoming projects in the works, including Project Delta, which People Can Fly is creating for Sony and Gears of War: E-Day , which the studio is co-developing with Xbox studio The Coalition.

Today's Wordle Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here. STONE left me with 98 words, so not too shabby, but NADIR cut that down to just one: UNDID for the win! That was quick! Today's Wordle Bot At last, after I don't know how many days of losing or tying, I finally got a win on the stupid evil Wordle Bot. I get 1 point for guessing in three and another for beating the Bot. The Bot loses 1 point for me beating it and gets 0 for guessing in four. Our totals for July narrow: Erik: 0 points Wordle Bot: 7 points The word "undid" is the past tense of "undo," which comes from Old English "undōn," meaning to reverse, annul, or open. It combines the prefix "un-" (meaning reversal or opposite) with "do" (from Old English "dōn", to perform or make). So "undid" literally means reversed what was done. Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile With These 5 ChatGPT Prompts

ChatGPT prompts can transform your LinkedIn profile into a results-generating machine. Your LinkedIn profile is your digital business card, but most professionals waste it with lackluster content that fails to generate meaningful connections. In fact, research shows that complete LinkedIn profiles get 30% more weekly views, and users with optimized profiles are far more likely to attract recruiters and new opportunities. Instead of hiring expensive copywriters or spending hours writing, use ChatGPT to craft profile sections that showcase your expertise and actively generate leads and opportunities. Here are five powerful ChatGPT prompts that will transform each critical section of your LinkedIn profile from a static resume into a results-generating machine. For best results, work through these prompts in order. Each section builds on the previous one to create a cohesive, strategic LinkedIn profile. ChatGPT Prompt #1: Upgrade Your LinkedIn Headline Your LinkedIn headline appears everywhere your name shows up, yet most professionals waste this prime real estate with generic job titles. Use it to communicate your unique value proposition. Act as a LinkedIn optimization expert. Create a compelling LinkedIn headline for a [your profession] with [X years] of experience who specializes in [your specialty] and helps [target audience] achieve [specific outcome]. The headline should be under 220 characters, include relevant keywords for searchability, and clearly communicate the value I provide. Make it attention-grabbing while maintaining professionalism. This prompt forces ChatGPT to focus on outcomes rather than job titles. ChatGPT Prompt #2: Craft An Engaging LinkedIn Summary Your LinkedIn summary has the most space to tell your professional story and convince visitors to connect or reach out. Most summaries read like boring biographies when they should function as compelling sales pages. Write a LinkedIn summary for a [your profession] with expertise in [key skills/areas]. Structure it to first hook the reader with a compelling opening about a common problem my target audience faces, then position me as the solution by highlighting my unique approach and key achievements, using specific metrics where possible. Include a brief personal anecdote that humanizes me, then end with a clear call to action encouraging people to connect or reach out. Keep it conversational yet professional, with a length of under 2,600 characters. This creates summaries that immediately engage your target audience and position you as someone who understands their pain points. ChatGPT Prompt #3: Optimize Your Experience Descriptions Most LinkedIn users list responsibilities instead of achievements in their experience section. Rewrite this job experience for LinkedIn: [paste your current job description]. Transform it from a list of responsibilities into achievement-focused bullet points that demonstrate impact and results. Use action verbs, include specific metrics and outcomes where possible, and highlight skills that are relevant to my target audience of [describe your ideal connections/clients]. Make each point start with a strong action verb and focus on the value I delivered rather than just what I was responsible for. This transforms generic descriptions, like "Managed social media accounts," into powerful statements, like "Increased social media engagement by 340% and generated $2.3M in attributed revenue through strategic content campaigns." The difference is showing impact versus listing duties. ChatGPT Prompt #4: Generate Keyword-Rich Skills LinkedIn's search algorithm heavily weights the skills section, especially given the trend toward skills-based hiring. In fact, a recent analysis of almost 9 million LinkedIn profiles concluded that profiles listing more—and especially managerial—skills tend to be associated with higher-paying jobs. Analyze the current job market and industry trends for [your profession/industry] and suggest 20-30 relevant skills I should add to my LinkedIn profile. Prioritize skills that are: 1) Currently in high demand by employers/clients, 2) Relevant to [your specific niche/specialization], 3) Likely to be searched by my target audience of [describe your ideal connections], and 4) A mix of technical hard skills and valuable soft skills. Explain why each skill category is important for my professional positioning. This ensures your skills section works as a discoverability tool rather than a random collection of capabilities. ChatGPT Prompt #5: Create Compelling Calls-To-Action Every section of your LinkedIn profile should guide visitors toward a specific action. Most profiles lack clear direction, leaving visitors unsure of next steps. Create five different call-to-action statements I can use throughout my LinkedIn profile to encourage [specific desired action - connections, website visits, consultations, etc.]. Each CTA should be tailored to different sections of my profile and various stages of the relationship-building process. Make them specific to my role as a [your profession] serving [target audience], natural-sounding rather than salesy, and focused on the value the other person will receive by taking action. This generates CTAs that give people clear reasons to engage. How These ChatGPT Prompts Transform Your LinkedIn Profile Your LinkedIn profile works around the clock to either attract or repel the professional opportunities you want most. When you use these five ChatGPT prompts, you're doing more than updating your profile. You're turning it into a strategic tool that actively generates the career results you deserve, even while you sleep. The time you spend optimizing your profile today will create a steady stream of opportunities that will find you tomorrow.

‘7 Little Words' Hints, Clues And Answers For Monday, July 14th

Clues and answers for today's 7 Little Words puzzle. If you're looking for Sunday's 7 Little Words guide, it's right here: Okay, day three of writing 7 Little Words guides and we'll see if this is something I continue entirely based on whether there's a readership for it or not. I think it's a genuinely fun game with just the right amount of challenge. It makes you think about words and how they can have different meanings and the clues are always quite clever. I like that some days there's a kind of theme, like yesterday's 'follow your nose" theme. Today's is more about wordplay. Let's solve it! If you haven't played the game yet, you can play 7 Little Words right here. The game is simple. You have a five-by-five grid of boxes, each containing a group of letters. Above this grid are seven phrases, each giving you a clue to seven words. The number of letters is listed next to each phrase. There is no time limit and no penalty for wrong answers. Solve each one in any order you please. The example given by the game is 'deep fried treats' (6 letters) and the boxes that would create the word are DO + NU + TS for DONUTS. The game is played in UK English, so this could throw a little wrench into things for non-Brits. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder Before we get to the answers, below you'll find the starting 'box' for each word in today's puzzle. Spoilers ahead! Today's 7 Little Words Today's words are mostly tricky plays on words. For instance, 'football' means one thing to Americans and another to everyone else. Shaken, not stirred makes us think of a martini, but we should think of other meanings for 'shaken' and the same applies to 'beat' which isn't always musical in nature. Here are the first letters of each corresponding word: Now here are the full answers. Today's 7 Little Words answers One thing I find helpful with this puzzle is to really think about how many letters each word is and what kinds of boxes you'll need to complete the remaining words, especially when you've gotten a couple out of the way. I had the last three words remaining this time and since they were 7, 8 and 9 letters I knew that one had to be three three-letter boxes, so I could just ignore the rest of the 2-letter boxes entirely. This got me DISCOURSE and from here, UNNERVED and PATROLS were much more obvious. I like the way today's puzzle played with meaning. 'waited, in a way' being SERVED is quite clever. A very clever puzzle all around.
