Scotland's Brown to join Lions squad in Melbourne
The 24-year-old Glasgow Warrior can also play lock, where he started on Friday in Gregor Townsend's side's win over Samoa in Auckland.
Brown is the 45th player called up by the 2025 Lions, whose initial squad was 38-strong.
Brown, who made his Scotland debut in 2024 against Canada, will join Rory Sutherland and Ewan Ashman in linking up with the squad in Melbourne on Sunday.
On Monday, Scotland trio Sutherland, Ashman and Darcy Graham were called up as cover, but only Graham joined the squad before the first-Test victory over Australia in Brisbane on Saturday.
Ireland tight-head prop Tom Clarkson, utility back Jamie Osborne and England hooker Jamie George have all recently joined the squad as cover.
Ireland lock Joe McCarthy went off early in Brisbane, with Lions head coach Andy Farrell confirming McCarthy's withdrawal was because of plantar fasciitis - a condition that causes pain in the heel and arch of the foot.
"It was niggling at him and hopefully we got him off just in time," he added.
Farrell's move to draft in extra players mirrors Warren Gatland's 'Geography Six' move in New Zealand in 2017 when half a dozen players, including Finn Russell, were parachuted in to play provincial opposition and help protect the Test squad.

Askou 'not happy' with second half at Ochilview
Manager Jens Berthel Askou says he was "not happy" with Motherwell's second-half display as they laboured to another win over a lower-league side at Stenhousemuir. Stephen O'Donnell's fortunate back-post finish in the 41st minute proved enough to send the Fir Park side top of their Premier Sports Cup group, but Askou felt his team were too content to sit on their lead at Ochilview. "We need to produce more, bigger chances in a game like that when we dominate so much."

Tierney enjoys 'emotional' return to Celtic Park
Kieran Tierney enjoyed an "emotional" return to Celtic Park in Saturday's friendly against Newcastle United, with the biggest cheer in a 4-0 victory reserved for the defender. The 28-year-old Scotland international was introduced 10 minutes into the second half, having made his last home appearance for the Scottish champions on 6 April 2019. 'To score eight in any game is a real achievement'
Manager Stephen Robinson praised St Mirren's "very clinical" attacking play after they thrashed Annan 8-2. After opening their Premier Sports Cup campaign with a goalless draw against Arbroath, Saints have now scored 10 goals in two matches. Mikael Mandron put the Buddies three up inside nine minutes following Killian Phillips' double, but Annan pulled two goals back before Richard King converted a penalty on the hour mark. A goal flurry from Robinson's side in the final 10 minutes extended the scoreline, with Mandron completing his treble and Jayden Richardson and Roland Idowu also on target. "We started superbly," Robinson told a club video. "The three goals were excellent, all the things we have been working on, running forward, the cut-backs, super play in and around the box. "Subconsciously, you take your foot off the gas. You don't mean to but you do, you allow the other team to have more time on the ball and start making decisions you perhaps wouldn't make if you're playing Celtic. "They got a little kick on the backside and showed a great response. The goals in the second half and some of the play was very good and very clinical. To score eight goals in any game is a real achievement."
