TGL: Schedule, standings heading into the final stretch of the inaugural season
The TGL, the advanced technology golf league, is now in the final stretch of its inaugural regular season. As the season draws to a close, the teams are in a fierce battle for a coveted spot in the playoffs.
The Los Angeles Golf Club, led by the formidable trio of Sahith Theegala, Collin Morikawa, and Tony Finau, pulled off a thrilling victory Monday. They defeated Rickie Fowler, Cameron Young, and Matt Fitzpatrick from the New York Golf Club in a heart-stopping 5-4 overtime match, securing their place in the playoffs.
Another team that has clinched a postseason spot is the Atlanta Drive Golf Club, composed of Justin Thomas, Billy Horschel, and Patrick Cantlay, who defeated Rory McIlroy's Boston Common team 6-3 in their recent matchup.
With two postseason spots still up for grabs, the competition is heating up. The Bay Golf Club, New York Golf Club, Jupiter Links GC, and Boston Common Golf are all in the race, making the next round a nail-biting affair.

Who's up, who's down in the FedEx Cup Playoffs after 18 holes at Wyndham Championship?
It's the tournament-within-the-tournament. The 2025 Wyndham Championship is the regular-season finale for the PGA Tour. It's also the Last Chance Saloon for those trying to find their way into the top 70 for the FedEx Cup Playoffs. That's a big change from a year ago, when the top 100 made the postseason. Now, the pressure is ratcheted up for those looking to extend their 2025 seasons. Who moved up in the projected FedEx Cup Playoff standings? There was no movement in or out of the top 30, which guarantees golfers a spot in the Tour Championship. But there some changes as it pertains to the top-50 cutoff. Joel Dahmen had the biggest jump up, as his first-round 61 on Thursday vaulted him from No. 101 all the way to No. 48, a leap of 53 spots. "I mean, I've had like three top-2s in my career. I don't know, four of 'em maybe? I mean, it's not even a thing, right?," he pondered after his first round. "Yeah, great to make the Playoffs, that would be unbelievable, give me a lot of time off this fall. We've got a baby coming so that would take some pressure off of that. The Playoffs are a bonus for me. I'm just going to go out and try to play good golf, and I guess if I play really well, then I get to play another week." Fellow pro Mark Hubbard confirmed that Dahmen was looking at vacation time these next few weeks more than a possible playoff spot. "My wife's actually in Jackson Hole right now, I think they're {the Dahmens] talking about maybe going there," Hubbard said. "I'm super jealous of both of them so I might just third wheel onto his trip, I don't know." Hubbard, who shot 65 on Thursday, is still on the outside at No. 82 but that's up from 98 from 24 hours ago. Jordan Spieth also did himself some favors. He was in the 50th spot ahead of this week and gave himself some breathing room after shooting 5-under 65 to move up to 46th. "I didn't have a great warmup this morning and it kind of translated, but it was nice to hang in there, get some breaks on the greens and be a couple under while I wasn't really, really feeling very good about my game," he said. "Then I started to kind of get in a nice rhythm to finish and hopefully carry that into the rest of the week." Christiaan Bezuidenhout has moved to the good side of the top-70 threshold from No. 74 to No. 66. The South African still has work to do but his Thursday 65 is a big step in the right direction. Who moved down in the projected FedEx Cup Playoff standings? On the flip side, a few golfers were moving the wrong direction at Sedgefield, but again, it's only been 18 holes, so there's still time. Min Woo Lee, not playing this week, went from No. 49 to No. 51. That's good enough to make next week but now has him out of the BMW. The bigger hit came to Ben An, who shot 2-under 68 and is tied for 64th at the Wyndham. That's an outcome that saw him fall from 69th to 72nd and out of the playoffs. Also sliding out was Matti Schmid, who was the bubble boy at the start of the tournament at No. 70. He's now 73rd. Big names still on the wrong side of top 70 in 2025 FedEx Cup Playoffs standings There are three prominent names still outside the top 70 and time is starting to run out. Gary Woodland went back three spots from 75th to 78th; Adam Scott went from 85th to 84th; Max Homa was 106th and now he's 103rd.

Joel Dahmen leads Wyndham Championship with a 61 in bid to make postseason

(AP) — Joel Dahmen started his long-shot bid to make the PGA Tour postseason by closing with three straight birdies for a 9-under 61 on Thursday to match his career best and give him a one-shot lead over Alex Noren in the Wyndham Championship. The Wyndham Championship is the final tournament in the regular season, with the top 70 in the FedEx Cup advancing to the lucrative postseason filled with potential perks. Dahmen is 101st in the standings and would need a runner-up finish with no more than two other players to reach the FedEx Cup playoffs. He was happy with the start — 10 birdies on a dry course at Sedgefield — and also realistic about his chances of playing next week in the FedEx St. Jude Championship. He has one victory and three runner-up finishes in 231 tournaments. 'I mean, I've had like three top 2s in my career — I don't know, four of them, maybe?' he said. "I mean, it's not even a thing, right? Yeah, great to make the playoffs, hat would be unbelievable, give me a lot of time off this fall. Hubbard was joined by Cameron Young, defending champion Aaron Rai and Nico Echavarria, who at No. 65 needs to hold his position. 'I think t's all about how you look at it. For me I think it kind of takes the pressure off because it's really hard to do that and it's not something that you're really thinking about,' Hubbard said. "I've just got to go play super well and make a ton of birdies. If that happens to fall into place that way, then that's great. 'I think it's easier than if I had to top-15 or top-10 because that way you're always looking at the board ... where this week I've just got to go out and play as good as I can.' Jordan Spieth and Adam Scott have different objectives this week and wound up with the same score at 65. Spieth had four birdies over his last five holes. He is set for the postseason at No. 50, but wants to help take the pressure off when he gets to Memphis, Tennessee. The top 50 after the first playoff event not only advance to the next week, they are guaranteed to get in all the $20 million signature events. Spieth missed out last year, then had wrist surgery, and had to ask for exemptions into the signature events. Scott, however, is at No. 85 and would need at least third place to reach the postseason. 'I'm going to need to get like 20 under to think of anything, so I better not be 1 under through day one or I'm going to leave myself a lot of work,' Scott said. 'So nice to make a few birdies. And of course as much as I think about moving on, I'd like to win this tournament.' Also at stake this week is the first FedEx Cup bonus pool — $10 million to the points leader (Scottie Scheffler) and $4 million for second place (Rory McIlroy), which they both have wrapped up. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley is at No. 10 and would pick up $500,000 if he can stay there. Bradley bogeyed his last two holes for a 68.
