Nomzamo Mbatha shuts down Paul Mashatile dating rumours with Airbnb receipts
Actress and producer clears the air after viral speculation ties her to Deputy President Mashatile's luxury Cape Town mansion. South African actress and Shaka iLembe executive producer Nomzamo Mbatha-Nxumalo has clapped back at explosive social media rumours. The rumours linked her romantically to Deputy President Paul Mashatile. However, she produced evidence that she had independently booked the luxury Constantia mansion through Airbnb years ago. This booking was even completed before Mashatile became deputy president in 2023. The drama erupted after an X (formerly Twitter) user, @sanelenkosiii, shared images of a R28.9 million Constantia property. The property was recently declared by Mashatile as his home. The user paired it with a separate post of Nomzamo photographed at a property similar to it in Cape Town. This ignited talk that the award-winning actress was one of Mashatile's alleged romantic partners. 'Deputy President Paul Mashatile has officially declared ownership of a R28.9 million mansion in the exclusive Constantia suburb of Cape Town. He used the mansion to give access to his side girlfriends for vacations,' read the viral tweet. Picture: X Fuel was added to the fire when Mashatile himself, under pressure to reveal his interests and assets, initially claimed that the Constantia home belonged to his son-in-law. However, he later changed his statement and officially declared the mansion as his own. This was in parliament's 2024 register of Members' Interests. That change in stance only further stirred speculation. Online sleuths pointed fingers at Nomzamo based on old vacation images from 2020 that surfaced online. But the actress didn't let the gossip go unchallenged. In a decisive and dignified move, Nomzamo posted official Airbnb booking receipts from December 2020 to January 2021. These confirmed that she had rented the villa, known as Constantia Lodge, for a personal holiday. The documents included timestamps and transaction records. These clearly showed the stay was a private, independent booking unrelated to Mashatile. Her response was widely praised online, with one user commenting: 'Sana, poor Nomzamo Mbatha had to scroll down and search for receipts from 2020. Imagine if ebengenazo umntanabantu.' Nomzamo Mbatha. Picture: Supplied The timing of the social media storm was particularly awkward for the actress. She has consistently maintained a squeaky-clean public image while juggling her roles as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, actress, and film producer. The implication that she might have benefited from a political relationship threatened her brand. It also overshadowed her hard-earned professional accomplishments. Her transparency in posting the Airbnb receipts was seen by many as a masterclass in reputation management. It served as a powerful way to shut down misinformation with factual proof. The Constantia property, a sprawling luxury estate nestled in one of South Africa's wealthiest suburbs, has recently come under increased public scrutiny. This scrutiny is due to Mashatile's delayed asset declaration. ALSO READ:L-Tido's podcast secures broadcast deal with DStv The deputy president originally attempted to distance himself from the home, stating it belonged to his son-in-law. However, his eventual admission that the mansion was indeed his own raised concerns over ethical conduct and transparency. Although Mashatile did not mention Nomzamo directly in any statements, the internet frenzy that followed his property disclosure dragged her name through the mud. This is something Nomzamo wasn't willing to tolerate silently. Speaking to sources close to the actress, it's understood that she views the situation as both 'laughable' and 'disheartening.' She especially felt this, given the energy it took to prove her innocence in a non-existent scandal. ALSO READ: 'The most profoundly painful thing God has ever done to me' — Mona Monyane on losing her children, heartbreak and more This is not the first time Nomzamo Mbatha has had to defend herself from public gossip. Her handling of this incident once again underscores her commitment to integrity and professionalism. As one entertainment commentator noted: 'Nomzamo Mbatha isn't just a star on screen; she's a star in how she navigates fame. She knew the truth, came with receipts, and walked away with her reputation intact.' With Shaka iLembe continuing its successful run and more international projects on the horizon, it's clear that Nomzamo is focused on building her legacy. She is not entertaining baseless rumours.

Calitzdorp man aims to braai his way to a Guinness World Record
Calitzdorp braai enthusiast Gielie Basson is preparing to fire up the coals as he sets his sights on breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous braai. Scheduled to run from 24 to 28 September 2025, the event aims to hit the 100-hour mark, surpassing the current record of 80 hours, which was set by fellow South African Jan Greeff in 2014. This will be Basson's second official attempt. In 2023, he braaied for more than 84 hours, but a technical glitch with timekeeping disqualified the effort. 'In 2023, I tried, but Guinness World Records said that trying is the best gun. I didn't get the record, and that's why I'm going to try one last time in September,' Basson said. View this post on Instagram A post shared by GielieBraai (@gieliebraai) Beyond the record attempt, Basson is using the event to galvanise community spirit. He is encouraging South Africans to support the cause in their own way – whether in Calitzdorp or from their homes. 'They can braai boerewors, make hotdogs, and sell them. The profits can be donated to my charity, Gamka Oos Primary School, or to a charity of their choice,' he said. Known for its wine farms and scenic beauty, Calitzdorp is hoping to benefit from the publicity surrounding the event. Basson believes his attempt can help spotlight the town's charm and community warmth. 'Join us in Calitzdorp in support of my record attempt or braai at your home, and let's show the world how South Africa's 'ubuntu' really works,' he urged. Basson and his team are working closely with event coordinators and Guinness World Records officials to ensure all regulations are met this time around, including timekeeping, food safety, and rest periods. Whether or not the record is broken, the fire of community and charity will keep burning – just the way Gielie Basson likes it. Love Island USA's JaNa Craig exposes Kenny Rodriguez
Love Island USA 's season 6 star JaNa Craig took to Instagram to issue a statement to fans addressing her break-up with co-star Kenny Rodriguez. The couple met on season 6 of Love Island USA and dated for a year. News of the couple's break-up broke on 27 July 2025. JaNa took to Instagram to address the rumours surrounding her and Kenny's break-up, suggesting that the reasons behind it were far worse than fans could imagine. JaNa and Kenny first met on sixth season of Love Island USA , which premiered in June 2024. As one of the original islanders, JaNa initially connected with Coye Simmons and Connor Newsum before Kenny caught her attention. The couple did have some relationship drama while they were in the villa, however they managed to find their way back to each other. Although they didn't win, the couple ranked third and chose to continue their relationship outside the villa. Despite concerns about the distance, the Love Island USA season 6 pair decided to continue their relationship after the show. With JaNa living in Las Vegas and Kenny in Dallas, they faced challenges due to the distance separating them. Nevertheless, they were determined to make the relationship work. After a year or navigating the long-distance relationship, the couple ultimately decided to part ways. But, it seems that there was more to the break-up than just the distance. News of the couple's split debuted on 27 July 2025 and fans couldn't help but conjure all sorts of theories. On 29 July 2025, JaNa shared the following statement on her story: As you know, Kenny and I are no longer together. Please know that I have seen all the breakup theories and none have matched how terrible, disgusting and disappointing it truly is. Discovering that someone you loved isn't who you thought they were and that the relationship you thought you were building hasn't been genuine since day one has truly been devastating Kenny released his own statement shortly afterwards, stating that he will always be grateful for the time they shared, that he releases this chapter with no ill will, and that he hopes JaNa's path forward brings her nothing but happiness. Things escalated when JaNa clapped back at his post on her stories. After Kenny's statement, JaNa shared another statement on her post where she called him a 'manipulative liar.' The post read as follows: @kennyrodriguez stfu you manipulative liar. You not taking accountability and telling people the type of person you really are is insane to me!! My first statement was me being nice. Do not piss me off. Friend's of JaNa's joined in on the bashing, sharing that Kenny has been a, 'racist, clout/money hungry and a scammer since day 1.' Kenny hasn't uploaded anything to his Instagram story and he hasn't spoken up publicly since. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211.
