Aussie mum urges parents to ban kids from watching Peppa Pig after noticing 'insane' detail: 'I'm shocked'
Kelly Arvan, from Victoria, said her three-year-old son Kia had started impulsively saying, 'You're not my best friend' to everyone around him.
At first, the mum-of-two was confused because she didn't know where he had picked up the catchphrase - but she asked him to stop repeating it, and he did.
A few weeks later, Kia was watching Peppa Pig when the main character suddenly blurted out, 'You're not my best friend anymore' - stopping the mum in her tracks.
'It's insane. I have watched back episodes myself... and Peppa isn't a good influence at all. I'm shocked,' Kelly told Daily Mail Australia.
The mum said she has since banned her son Kia from watching the show because she doesn't agree with the way Peppa treats her little brother George.
'It worries me because Peppa is really mean to her little brother. My three-year-old son Kia has a seven-month-old brother Kian and he treats him so kindly and loving so I would never want Kia to get a bad influence from Peppa,' Kelly said.
'It's a great warning for other parents who are totally oblivious like I was.'
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Hasbro, who owns Peppa Pig, for comment.
The catchphrase 'You're not my best friend' appears in multiple episodes of the iconic children's TV show, including one where Peppa accuses her best friend Suzy of cheating during a card game of snap.
'I don't want to play with you anymore,' Peppa exclaimed, as Suzy, replied, 'I don't want to play with you anymore.'
'I am not talking to her,' Peppa said as she pointed her finger at Suzy. Peppa's mum nervously laughs it off, before responding: 'I'm sure they'll make it up... They are best friends.'
However, Peppa disagreed, snapping back: 'It's not funny,' prompting Suzy to storm off, saying 'We are not best friends anymore.'
In the next scene, Suzy calls Peppa and says, 'We can be friends again... if you say, "Sorry"'. Peppa responds, 'I'm sorry I said you cheated, even though you did cheat.'
The conversation quickly falls apart, ending with Suzy saying, 'I'm sorry you were ever my best friend' before abruptly hanging up.
Kelly was shocked when she realised her toddler had picked up the phrase from the show, promoting her to make a video warning other parents.
'Warning to all parents who let their children, specifically toddlers, watch Peppa Pig,' she said.
The mum said other parents had previously warned her that Peppa Pig came across as 'rude', but she never thought twice about letting her boy watch it.
'About a month ago, he started going around to everyone, saying: "You're not my best friend... You're not my best friend",' Kelly recalled.
'And he was saying it quite often and I kept saying to him, "Where are you learning this? That's not nice to say to someone. You're not allowed to say that anymore." And he stopped saying it.'
Over the weekend, the family was enjoying some quiet time on the couch while Kia was watching Peppa Pig when Kelly suddenly heard the phrase.
'I hear Peppa Pig saying, "You're not my best friend anymore". I look at the TV and I look at Kia and I've just turned off Peppa Pig. I'm like, "You're not allowed to watch Peppa Pig anymore",' he said.
'I'm in shock. Now I kind of see the behavioural pick ups just from seeing that. I'm actually in shock.'
The mum said she now understands where her son picked up some of the catchphrases after noticing a few other unusual behaviours in recent weeks.
'I've been seeing little things like this happened the last couple of weeks, and I'm like, "Where are you learning this behaviour?",' she said.
'It's bloody Peppa Pig.'
Her video has been viewed more than 300,000 times - with many parents agreeing with her - some even confirming their kids no longer watch Peppa Pig.
'Peppa Pig is a brat, I banned my kids when I noticed their energy shifting,' one said.
'Oh yes it's bad as. She fat shames her dad and everything. We stopped watching Peppa in our house years ago,' another shared.
'I couldn't stand Peppa Pig. My niece would always say, "I can't do it" and she'd never try to do things and yep... it was from that annoying pig,' one shared.
'Could not agree more! Peppa Pig is a Bully! My kids are banned from watching,' another added.
'100 per cent my niece is now banned from that show because her mother experienced the same things. Pepper just sooks when she doesn't get her way, that's not how we should be influencing our kids into thinking that way - it won't be tolerated to behave like that,' one revealed.
While many 'oblivious' parents had no idea the show was teaching their kids negative catchphrases.
'OMG STOP! I was wondering where my toddler learnt this,' one said.
Some parents and teachers suggested their kids picked up the 'You're not my best friend' from childcare and school.
'My daughter doesn't watch Peppa Pig and 100 per cent got this from childcare and kindergarten,' one shared.
'Unfortunately I work in childcare and the "You're not my best friend" comment is age appropriate especially through that three-six age group. I see it year in and year out constantly. Peppa Pig or not - it's a faze they all go through,' another said.
However, one mum chimed in to point out where kids at daycare were really hearing the phrase.
'It's likely because there are children at childcare that watch Peppa Pig. My daughter has just started using this phrase a week ago too and got it from daycare,' she said.

Jeremy Clarkson lands high-pressure Who Wants To Be A Millionaire spin-off plus new series of ITV hit AND celeb specials
JEREMY Clarkson has landed a new high pressure Who Wants To Be a Millionaire spin-off. Millionaire Hot Seat contestants have to think tactically and answer under pressure while playing against the clock - and each other. 4 4 4 Filming for the spin-off is set to launch in November this year, for a 2026 launch. A TV insider said: "This is a massive show of support for Jeremy from ITV who want to keep him with the channel because they recognise the fact he's still one of telly's biggest stars. "Execs see him as having made Millionaire very much his own show, moving it on from its early years under Chris Tarrant. "Commissioning a new spin-off for him is very much an indication of that too. "The fact that they will have three different variations of the format airing, indicates that ITV want to carry it on way into the future, and they want Jeremy at the helm of the flagship show." Viewers are also set for new episodes of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire - as well as seven celebrity specials. It follows Millionaire Hot Seat's success in Australia, with over 2,500 episodes aired to date. The format sees contestants sit in a queue around the show's eponymous Hot Seat. However, only one can face Jeremy and therefore answer questions on the Million Pound Money Ladder. Players who answer correctly climb the ladder - but if they are incorrect, they are out and the prize drops. Musician wiped out on Who Wants To Be a Millionaire after using two lifelines on tough Spice Girls question - but would you know it? Although "passing" on a question means contestants stay in the game, they return to the back of the line. But it's a tricky situation as they may not get another shot - with the passed question going to the next person. Ultimately, only the top prize remaining on the ladder is able to be won - and the contestant tackling that question must answer correctly. Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment & Daytime Commissioning ITV said: 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has reached 18 million viewers on ITV so far this year alone. Who has won the jackpot on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Who Wants to Be a Millionaire has offered hundreds of hopeful contestants the chance to become millionaires, but there has only been a handful of lucky winners. There have only been five real winners so far on the show as Charles Ingram, who was the third winner of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? in 2001, had his claim to the prize thrown out because of cheating allegations. The official winners are... Judith Keppel In 2000, garden designer Judith Keppel made quiz show history as she became the first ever winner of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. Judith is also the only woman ever to have won the million-pound prize. David Edwards Former physics teacher David became the second contestant to win the top prize in April 2001. Following his success, Edwards went on to compete in both series of Are You an Egghead? in 2008 and 2009. Robert Brydges Oxford-educated banker Robert became the third Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? champion when he won the quiz show several moths after David in 2001. Robert has stayed out of the limelight since his win. Pat Gibson World champion Irish quiz player Pat won the show in 2004. Amazingly Pat had TWO of his lifelines still available for his final question, something no other winner has managed. Ingram Wilcox Ingram came close to losing on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2006 as he had used all his lifelines up at the £32,000 mark, but in a shocking twist he went on to scoop the jackpot. "Commissioning a new spin off format to further capitalise on the brand's success and popularity was a no brainer, especially with Millionaire Hot Seat already doing so well in other territories also.' Matthew Worthy, Co-CEO Stellify Media, said: 'It is an honour to produce Millionaire for ITV. "Millionaire Hot Seat is the main show's cheeky younger sibling, and gives us more Jeremy, enjoying more money-ladder moments - but with a whole new tone, pace, and feel. Who Wants to be a Millionaire airs on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player. 4

Adult performer Annie Knight splashes $2.7 million on luxury 'forever home' in Queensland after earning $600,000 in a single day during '583 guy challenge'
Annie Knight has dropped a staggering $2.7million on her dream home in Queensland. The 28-year-old adult star, who has been dubbed Australia's most sexually active woman, is now the proud owner of a luxury four-bedroom home with a pool, calling it her 'forever home'. The purchase marks a major upgrade from her previous property - a $1.37 million acreage home on the Gold Coast, which she has now listed on the market. Knight has listed the three-bedroom property, which was previously rented out for $1100 a week, for auction on August 22. 'I bought the house of my dreams that doesn't need any renovating,' she told Knight described her new property as the one she had been holding out for. 'When I say this is my dream home I mean it. It is so, so perfect, so much space, huge backyard, a pool,' she said. She added she will be selling the stylish Gold Coast home she bought earlier this year as a result of the dream purchase. 'I decided to sell the home I bought last year. As an investment property, it just didn't make sense,' she said. In June, Knight splashed out over $1million on a Gold Coast home, after sleeping with 583 men in one day. And in a surprise revelation, the OnlyFans star announced she intended to raise a family. Taking to social media, the Gold Coast-based internet celebrity described the four-bedroom home as 'perfect'. Appearing in the short clip in a modest crew neck sweater, Annie gushed over the property's features, which she said, included a 'big backyard' and a pool. 'I made $600,000 from the 583 guy challenge and I bought my home,' she declared. In a move that may surprise her fan base, the newly engaged sex worker announced that she 'couldn't wait' to start raising a family. 'A lot of people think it's crazy that I talk about having kids and having a family, when I do what I do,' she confessed. 'But I've always had a dream to raise and have a family. And I hope to raise them to be non-judgemental and pro SW [sex work].' 'My mum never raised me to be judgemental of other people and always told me to accept people for who they are. 'That's how I plan to raise my children. I can't wait to raise them to be as accepting and non-judgemental as I am. 'I know they will understand why I chose the career I did and be grateful for a everything hopefully I will be able to provide for them.' She then added that her plans to start a family were still a 'little way off by the way'. It comes as the adult content creator is currently planning to tie the knot with fiancé Henry Brayshaw. The happy couple, who have been friends for ten years, got engaged in March - just one week after rekindling their relationship. Henry, 27, popped the question over a romantic dinner in Beverly Hills during a trip to LA.

Billy Brownless horrifies his family and friends with shock nude pool selfie as he holidays with his glamorous partner Crystle Fleur
Billy Brownless has shocked his family, friends and followers after sharing a very risqué selfie. The AFL legend, 58, is currently enjoying a one-year anniversary trip with partner Crystle Fleur, 52, at Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa in Western Australia. The broadcaster has been busy documenting the trip on Instagram, however his latest post was possibly more suited to OnlyFans. Billy shared a photo of himself completely nude in the the pool. Captioning the shock post, Billy was not afraid to poke more than a little fun at himself. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'Some call it "Skinny Dipping". I like to call it "Fat Dipping",' he wrote. Billy's nude selfie horrified his daughter Ruby, who commented: 'wow, it gets worse.' AFL WAG Bec Judd, who was holidaying at the same location, also chimed in on Billy's eye-popping display. 'Hahahaha. Nice seeing you yesterday. Glad you had some clothes on,' she joked. Lisa Brayshaw, the wife of media personality James Brayshaw, replied to Bec's comment with: 'I just said to James… oh no, I think Bec is there on holidays. I hope she's left by now because you can't unsee this if it's in your resort pool.' Former AFL star Dale Thomas also jumped in, suggesting Billy was attempting to recreate a very famous album cover. 'Reverse angle is a Nirvana album cover,' he joked, referring to the grunge band's breakthrough album Nevermind. The ribbing didn't end there, either, with one fan suggesting Billy's display may make it difficult for him to travel. 'You'll never get back in the plane with that much Crack in your possession Billy,' they joked. The subtle sledge certainly tickled Billy's partner Crystle, who replied with two crying laughing emojis. Another pleaded with Billy's partner: 'Good lord @crystle15 stop him,' however Crystle admitted she was powerless to curtail Billy's nude shenanigans. 'He's out of control,' was her reply. 'I'm running.' It comes as trolls took aim at Billy as he marked his one-year anniversary with his glamorous partner. Crystle took to Instagram earlier this month to celebrate their milestone anniversary with a sweet picture of the couple, which has received nearly 7,000 likes. However, many trolls poured into the comments section of the post to share their thoughts on the pairing, with some saying Billy is 'punching above his weight' with the mum-of-three, and that she's out of his league. 'Good to see you happy Bill, but still punching way above,' one person wrote. Another chimed in: 'Punching above your weight there, big man...' The romance between Billy and Crystle first became public knowledge in October last year. Since then, he and Crystle have been inseparable, seen enjoying outings across Melbourne. In February, the pair were spotted strolling hand-in-hand through South Yarra after a casual café date. A mother-of-three, Crystle's low-key style and successful career have captured Brownless' heart. Billy's private life hit the headlines in 2016 when his friendship with Garry Lyon was rocked by scandal. The former best mates fell out after it emerged Lyon was in a relationship with his ex-wife, Nicky. The public split caused deep hurt for Billy, who spoke openly about his disappointment. However, in recent years, the pair have moved towards reconciliation. The families spent Christmas together and, in January, Billy and Garry appeared on air together for the first time in years. In a further sign of healing, Lyon attended the wedding of Billy's daughter, Ruby, in Noosa in March.
