Mia Sara, 57, starred with Tom Cruise then was in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, see her now in rare snaps
The exotic-looking actress made her big-screen debut opposite Tom Cruise in the fantasy unicorn-seeking adventure Legend in 1985.
Then one year later - at the age of 18 - this siren landed a major role in an iconic high school comedy, 1986's Ferris Bueller's Day Off, starring Matthew Broderick.
The 57-year-old Hollywood stalwart has continued to work but has rarely been seen.
On Monday evening the formerly dark-haired star hit her first red carpet in many years for the premiere of her new movie.
She was at The Life Of Chuck screening at Hollywood Legion Theater in Los Angeles with Star Wars veteran Mark Hamill.
Born Mia Sarapochiello in Brooklyn, New York, she landed her big break aged 16 with the 1985 fantasy film Legend starring her as a princess and Cruise as a man from the woods.
The movie was anchored by Hollywood heavyweights - not just Tom but also director Ridley Scott - and yet turned out to be a flop at the box office.
However, one year later, Mia became recognizable all over the country as Sloane Peterson, the girlfriend of mischievous high school senior Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick).
Ferris gets his famous day off by pretending to be sick, and manages to get Sloane to join him by feeding the school the fake story that her grandmother has died.
Upon its release, Ferris Bueller's Day Off became a thunderous box office success and remains one of the best-loved high school comedies to emerge from Hollywood.
Shortly after the movie came out, Mia showered praise on both Cruise and Matthew Broderick, whom she noted 'had much more experience' than she did.
'Tom was dedicated and I learned a lot of good work habits from him. And I respected Matt because I had seen him on Broadway. He was one of my favorites,' she told UPI.
In the 1990s she featured in such movies as the Melanie Griffith drama A Stranger Among Us - directed by Sidney Lumet of 12 Angry Men fame - as well as the smash hit Jean-Claude Van Damme action movie Timecop.
She continued acting on TV Programs like CSI: NY and movies like Dorothy & The Witches of Oz until 2013, when she took a hiatus that ultimately lasted longer than a decade.
As early as 2010, she had remarked that she was 'mostly retired' as she had become a 'mother with a really noisy, difficult house to maintain!'
The New York native also noted: 'I'm a poet, so for the last couple of years that's what I've been focusing on,' in an interview with Total Film.
Mia now has a daughter named Amelia, 20, by her second and current husband Brian Henson, who is the son of The Muppets creator Jim Henson.
She also has a 28-year-old son called Dashiell by her first husband Jason Connery, whose father was none other than James Bond legend Sean Connery.
After many years away from the movies, she is back with The Life Of Chuck.
Mia features amid a star-studded cast including Tom Hiddleston, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Hamill, Jacob Tremblay, Karen Gillan and Nick Offerman.
The movie earned a warm response from the critics when it premiered in September at the Toronto International Film Festival, and will be out in theaters soon.

Jimmy Kimmel reveals blistering reason he wants Trump to compete on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
Jimmy Kimmel has revealed the blistering reason he wants Donald Trump to compete on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? The 57-year-old, who has been serving as host since 2020, told Extra he'd like to see exactly 'how much the genius' really knows. Celebrity contestants get their intelligence tested as they're quizzed on a variety of topics in the hopes of winning $1M for a charity of their choosing. Asked about his dream contestant, Kimmel told the outlet: 'Boy, wound't it be fun to put Donald Trump in that hot seat, see how much that genius knows? 'I would say, "Please, have a seat. I would love to — you know what? Any time you spend on a game show is another hour you're not being president, so I'm in support of that."' Kimmel - a vocal critic of the president - admitted he has a lot of respect for any celebrity who does take part. He added: 'I admire anybody that does sit down and come on the show because they're really risking their reputation.' Kimmel's comments about Trump come after the US President claimed he and Jimmy Fallon could be 'next' to have their shows cancelled after news that the Late Show with Stephen Colbert will end in May 2026. Trump wrote on his own Truth Social platform: 'The word is, and it's a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, Fallon will be gone. 'These are people with absolutely NO TALENT, who were paid Millions of Dollars for, in all cases, destroying what used to be GREAT Television. 'It's really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it! (sic)' In response, Kimmel posted on Instagram: 'I'm hearing you're next. Or maybe it's just another wonderful secret.' His contract for Jimmy Kimmel Live! - which airs on ABC - is set to expire in 2026. Meanwhile, Colbert has questioned CBS' statement claiming the decision to end the show was a 'purely a financial decision' move. I look like a tall Amazon warrior and can lift 315lbs, men constantly ask me to spot them in the gym
A WOMAN has revealed men swoon over her in the gym because she looks like an Amazon Warrior. Marie Temara stands 6ft 3in tall and attracts a lot of attention when she hits the weights - throwing up a whopping 133kg during hardcore 12-hour lifting sessions. 4 4 4 4 Fellas often ask her to be their spotter because they are so overawed by her larger than life look. She said: "A lot of people think that women should be smaller and that men should be the strong ones who take care of everything. 'But I love being a big, strong woman – especially in the gym. I don't see a problem with flipping gender roles. 'Every time I go to the gym, a man will ask me to spot them, and I'm happy to do it. I get some stares and comments now and then, but I think most men are curious or impressed by what I can do. 'Or maybe they feel intimidated. I love feeling fit and strong. The gym feels like home." Marie now runs a successful OnlyFans page and rakes in £7.5m a year - earnings that helped her build a £75k gym in her own home. The influencer, who has 2.9m followers on Instagram (@marietemara), has transformed her life after she used to be bullied for her size. Cruel trolls would call her 'Bigfoot' or say that she 'looked like the Jolly Green Giant'. But the Miami-based fitness fanatic turned what they viewed as a weakness into her biggest strength. She said: 'It seems to be older men who make rude comments. I made six figures on OnlyFans but would give it all back not to be an embarrassment to my daughter, says Jemma Lucy 'They'll give a funny look and say, 'I can lift that' – I didn't ask if they could. 'I try not to let their negativity bother me, but I'll admit that it can feel a bit uncomfortable sometimes.' 'They would call me a man because I was so tall, so I wanted to lose weight and get fit. 'I started going to the gym every day, but it didn't stop them. 'Now, I get messages from the same bullies, trying to befriend me. 'They'll say 'Hey, do you remember when we went to school together?' – but I don't reply. 'The first thing I did after buying my house was build my gym. 'I plan to knock it down to double the size in the next few years.' Marie, who used to be an accountant, added: 'I truly hope to see more women owning their strength and taking up space in the weight room. "Lifting isn't just for guys; it's empowering, confidence-boosting, and so worth it. Let's normalise strong women."

GloRilla is arrested for felony drug possession in Georgia... a year after her DUI
Rapper Glorilla was arrested in Georgia earlier this week for drug possession. The 25-year-old Memphis-bred music artist was taken into custody in Forsyth County and booked on two counts: possession of a scheduled controlled substance and possession of marijuana over one ounce. According to a TMZ report, the TGIF hitmaker — who sparked dating rumors with an NFL star in June — was released on the same day after posting $22,000 bond. Both counts are felony offenses under Georgia law. The outlet noted that other details around the arrest are unknown at this time. It comes a little over a year after the star, real name Gloria Woods, was arrested in Georgia's Gwinnett County on DUI charges. At the time, the entertainer had been arrested in Suwanee, Georgia for suspicion of driving under the influence and consuming/possessing an open alcoholic beverage container. She was pulled over by authorities at 4:00 a.m. ET after they saw a vehicle make a U-turn at a red traffic light, according to police. (She also faced a separate traffic charge, police said.) The Yeah Glo! performer told police that she had drinks earlier in the night, police said in their report, noting that her vehicle smelled like alcohol and marijuana. GloRilla performed poorly on a field sobriety test officers conducted with her, authorities said. Police said that GloRilla, who's been linked to NBA star Damian Lillard, was unable to follow a target with her eyes, walk steadily, and balance on one leg. The F.N.F. (Let's Go) rapper declined to take a breathalyzer test, police said, at which point she was taken into custody. GloRilla had an associate retrieve her vehicle from the scene, authorities said. Earlier this year she hit the road in March and April for her Glorious Tour, which had stops stretching from the east to west coasts. Last month football star Xavier Legette appeared in a racy music video for her single Typa, sparking dating rumors. GloRilla made headlines in 2023 after three people died in a stampede at her March 5, 2023 concert in Rochester, New York at the Rochester Main Street Armory. 'I am devastated & heartbroken over the tragic deaths that happened after Sunday's show,' she wrote online in the wake of the tragedy. 'My fans mean the world to me. 'Praying for their families & for a speedy recovery of everyone affected,' she added.
