Dilraba Dilmurat stuns at Paris Fashion Week despite career setbacks

The 33-year-old beauty captivates in an elegant black gown. Photo: Mikimoto/Instagram Chinese actress Dilraba Dilmurat turned heads at Paris Fashion Week recently, exuding elegance in a black gown. The 33-year-old appeared at the event as the global brand ambassador for luxury jeweller Mikimoto, wearing a form-fitting rose-detailed dress paired with a pearl necklace. While she continues to shine on the fashion front, Dilraba has reportedly faced several setbacks in her acting career. According to media reports, her upcoming drama Sword Rose was rescheduled, and another highly anticipated project, Romance On The Turquoise Land, was unexpectedly pulled from the current release lineup. As a result, her management company has once again come under fire, with fans accusing it of mishandling her career. Concerns over mismanagement aren't new. In 2023, it was reported that many believed the company was limiting Dilraba's opportunities. Despite her breakout role in 2017's Eternal Love, she was said to have landed very few roles and had little say in choosing her own projects. The backlash online has been intense, with many fans voicing frustration and sympathy for the actress. Even during her recent Paris appearance, things didn't go entirely smoothly – at least for her fans. Due to what Dimsum Daily described as a 'logistical mishap', many of them misjudged the timing of her arrival and ended up waiting six hours just to see her. One fan even showed up in a frog costume in a playful bid to attract Dilraba's attention, but the long wait took its toll – the fan eventually had to lie down and rest while waiting.

'The one with the divine voice' - Malaysian legend Misha Omar to serenade fans at her solo concert on Nov 29 in KL

Malaysian legendary singer Misha Omar, popularly known as the 'Divine Voice', who is currently at the peak of her career, has now taken a step further. At 43, and with over two decades of musical excellence under her belt, the three-time Anugerah Juara Lagu Best Vocalist has now announced her mega-solo concert. In a special media announcement on Thursday (July 10), Misha said that she will be staging her mega solo concert at the Mega Star Arena on Nov 29. Many of her fans say her voice is just divine, and she has always been in the limelight since the new millennium. This time, Misha aims to party it out with her fans come November 29. The renowned songstress and local legend recently returned to the spotlight with "Break", a stirring and emotional new single that marks her first-ever collaboration with Indonesian music legend Melly Goeslaw. The amazing singer breathes life into "Break", a beautifully crafted composition by Melly Goeslaw, with musical arrangement by celebrated producer Tohpati. "Break" also adds another meaningful entry to her rich catalogue, following last year's single "Masihkan Ada Rasa Itu". Yet beyond personal milestones, Misha sees this project as a celebration of the musical richness of the Nusantara region. "Break" has been available for streaming and download since Friday, June 20, on all major platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music. It has an aptly named teaser for the new song -- Don't take a break— tune in to "Break". And come Nov 29, Misha's super concert has been aptly named 'DiA Misha Omar'. The concert also comes after her stupendous success with her "Misha Omar Back To Basic" showcase in Petaling Jaya last year. This year's concert is brought to fans by music and art house producers Double M Production together with Altus Prohouse as the managers for the "DiA Misha Omar" concert. As the organiser, Double M Production emphasises that "DiA Misha Omar" is not a sequel to the showcase organized last December. "The concert is instead a celebration of Misha's artistic journey, celebrating the music that remains fertile and a sign of appreciation for the support she has received for more than two decades throughout his career as an entertainer. "'DiA Misha Omar' also marks a new phase of the entertainer's journey, where she does not always perform concerts - by her own choice," said the organisers. "Getting to know Misha Omar, she is an entertainer who always likes something simple but leaves or prints great value behind every job she does. "Just like the choice of title, this concert is about storytelling conveyed through his works and the 'black and white' of his 23-year journey in the art industry. "The concert is also expected to be a moment to share sweet things with fans since the days of Bunga-Bunga Cinta until her latest single, Break," said the organisers. Meanwhile, concert managers Altus Prohouse said that they will ensure that fans who attend enjoy satisfaction and new experiences that have never been obtained through Misha Omar's performance before. "We will ensure something of quality, a great concert experience with a line-up of musicians and stage performances from the legendary Misha Omar at the best level at 'DiA Misha Omar', on the night of Nov 29. "How it will go and what will happen, all of that will be answered when you become one of the real witnesses of 'DiA Misha Omar' at Mega Star Arena, Kuala Lumpur," said Miselyn Yee Siew from Altus Prohouse. As for Misha, she said that this kind of concert is something that she has always wanted to do for her fans. "It's not just about me alone, but about how the career struggle that has been going on for over 20 years has been meaningfully supported by industry players and fans," said Misha. "Ironically, I never had a fan club, but with the power of the quality work given to me, with the fans' trust that I am still relevant to entertain them, and also my artistic journey that I have been able to endure to this day. "It has been more than two decades of a journey for me. It is time for me to share that with my fans who have been the pillars of my strength. Join me for an unforgettable night on Nov 29," said Misha Tickets will go on sale on July 25 at 10am. Tickets are priced at RM288 (SILVER), RM388 (GOLD), RM488 (PLATINUM), RM588 (DIAMOND), RM688 (VIP 2), RM1,200 (VIP 1), RM1,200 (2 PAX; ROYAL TWIN SEAT).
