Jeremy Clarkson reveals text to F1 boss after surprise sacking
Writing in his latest column for The Sun, the former Top Gear host backed the F1 boss who was unexpectedly fired from Red Bull earlier this week.
Clarkson expressed his sympathy for the Dutchman, explaining he could relate with his experience being fired as as presented on Top Gear after he punched producer on the show Oisin Tymon.

"I sent him a text after the news of his dismissal broke, pointing out that I've been in his shoes in the past," Clarkson wrote.
Christian Horner, pictured at Silverstone, was sacked by Red Bull (Bradley Collyer / PA) "I explained that when you wake the following morning, it's easy to think, 'Well, that's that, then'.
"But in my case, that wasn't that. I hadn't trodden on a snake. I'd trodden on a ladder. And I bet he does, too."

After the media personality left Top Gear with the BBC in 2015, Amazon swooped in to offer Clarkson and his co-presenters Richard Hammond and James May three seasons on a car show with a similar premise, which became The Grand Tour.
But the real change came when Clarkson switched tack from cars to tractors, took over running his Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington, and launched Clarkson's Farm in 2021 to much acclaim.
With a similar length career in their respective roles - Clarkson had been on Top Gear since 2002, while Horner had been at the helm of Red Bull since 2005 - the Clarkson expects comparable success for the dismissed driving boss.

He wrote: "I spent a bit of time with Christian at the [British] Grand Prix on Sunday. And it was plain he had no inkling at all that the bullet was coming.
"He was with his 11-year-old daughter, Olivia, whose mother had just died of eye cancer. And we mostly talked about that and how the poor little mite was coping."
He added, however, that Audi coming into the sport next year, along with Cadillac and Chinese teams, would all "jump at the chance of getting Horner," but speculated that, like Clarkson himself, a career change could take him anywhere.
Red Bull, meanwhile, are beginning a new era under Laurent Mekies, who admitted he has big shoes to fill.
Max Verstappen's future remains in the balance, too, who is currently 69 points behind Oscar Piastri in the drivers' standings, and his stance on his team principal's sacking remains unclear, though he thanked Horner on social media after the announcement.

Clarkson's expectations for Red Bull are not positive, however.
He wrote: "Well, look what happened to Man United when Ferguson was no longer at the helm.
"On that basis, this once-great team may well end up, in a couple of years, in Formula 4."

BBC's Gaza documentary narrated by Hamas official's teen son violated editorial guidelines, probe finds
A BBC documentary about the Gaza war's effect on children breached editorial guidelines — and is being probed by Britain's media watchdog — for not disclosing that its teen narrator was the son of a Hamas official. 'Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone' breached editorial guidelines on accuracy when it aired in February because narrator Abdullah, 13, is the son of Hyman Alyazouri, deputy minister of agriculture under the terror group, a BBC internal review determined Monday. 4 'Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone' breached editorial guidelines on accuracy when it aired in February, a BBC review determined. BBC 'The review found that the independent production company, Hoyo Films, bears most of the responsibility for the failure,' the broadcaster said Monday, while admitting it also 'bore some responsibility' and should have had more oversight. Three Hoyo Films employees knew of Alyazouri's ties to Hamas, but did not alert the broadcaster before the film aired, according to the BBC review. The film company was asked in writing 'a number of times' about any potential ties Abdullah and his family had to the terrorists, a BBC spokesperson told The Post in March. 4 The film company was asked in writing 'a number of times' about any potential ties Abdullah and his family had to the terrorists. AP Hoyo only made the revelation after the documentary was released, the rep said, adding that the production company allegedly paid the boy's mother a 'limited sum of money.' However, the BBC said its review found no proof 'to support the suggestion that the narrator's father or family influenced the content of the program in any way.' 4 Hoyo only made the revelation after the documentary was released, the rep said. BBC After the BBC released its findings, Britain's Office of Communications, or Ofcom, announced it would conduct its own review 'under our rule which states the factual programs must not mislead the audience.' The investigation comes just two weeks after the BBC aired an antisemitic livestream from punk-rap band Bob Vylan's performance at the Glastonbury Festival on June 28. 4 BBC said its review found no proof 'to support the suggestion that the narrator's father or family influenced the content of the program in any way.' BBC The company, which streams the annual event, later admitted that it should have cut the feed after the London-based duo spewed hateful rhetoric and urged the massive crowd to chant 'Death to the IDF,' in reference to the Israel Defense Forces. The US pulled Bob Vylan's visas after the stunt. The group had a 20-show American tour slated to kick off in October. With Post wires

Who Is Reese Witherspoon's Boyfriend? All About Financier Oliver Haarmann
Reese Witherspoon has been linked to Oliver Haarmann since 2024 A source told PEOPLE in October 2024 that the two were "having fun" together The Legally Blonde actress was seen packing on the PDA with the German financier in July 2025Reese Witherspoon looks smitten with boyfriend Oliver Haarmann! The Morning Show actress has been dating the German financier since 2024, and the two were seen packing on the PDA during a romantic vacation in July 2025. In photos obtained by PEOPLE, the couple were photographed kissing and hugging while taking in the sights on a yacht off the coast of Saint-Tropez, France. PEOPLE confirmed in September 2024 that Witherspoon and Haarmann were dating after they were seen spending time together in New York City earlier that year in July. At the time, a source told PEOPLE that Witherspoon was "taking things slow when it comes to dating." Another insider shared that they were "having fun" and that she "often flies between Nashville and N.Y.C. to see him." Witherspoon's relationship with Haarmann marked her first public romance since getting divorced from Jim Toth in August 2023. The former couple share son Tennessee James Toth. Witherspoon also has daughter Ava Phillippe and son Deacon Phillippe with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. So, who is Reese Witherspoon's boyfriend, Oliver Haarmann? Here's everything to know about the financier and their romance. Haarmann is a graduate of Brown University and Harvard University, the latter of which he earned a master's in business administration from, per his LinkedIn. The financier started his career at KKR, a global investment firm in London, before leaving to found Searchlight Capital Partners, a private equity firm, in 2010. He has continued his role as a partner where he works with his two cofounders to oversee the firm's activities and portfolio, per his bio on their website. In December 2023, Sportico reported that Haarmann was in negotiations to buy 10% of the New York Islanders. A couple of months later, The New York Post reported that the Islanders confirmed Haarmann did buy a stake in the team, making him the second person to do so in one year. Like Witherspoon, Haarmann was previously married. He and his ex-wife, Mala Gaonkar, divorced after welcoming two children together. Gaonkar is a successful financier herself, starting her own hedge fund, SurgoCap Partners, in 2022. Like her ex-husband, she graduated from Harvard University with a master's in business administration. Before founding her own fund, Gaonkar worked as a founding partner of investment firm Lone Pine Capital. She also is a writer, collaborating with musician David Byrne to write an immersive theater performance in 2016. The two attended the Academy Awards together in March 2023. Along with his ex-wife Gaonkar and their friend, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation veteran Sema Sgaier, Haarmann founded a charity, Surgo Foundation. 'If you don't actually listen to people and find out what they really care about, you're not helping anyone,' Gaonkar told W in May 2017 of the charity's purpose. Witherspoon and Haarmann dined at L'Artusi in N.Y.C. in July 2024 after flying into the city via helicopter the previous day. "She enjoys it but doesn't want it to be a big focus. She's busy with work and her son," a source told PEOPLE of Witherspoon's perspective on dating. "These are her biggest priorities." Before her meetup with Haarmann in the city, Witherspoon spent time with pals Gwyneth Paltrow and Cameron Diaz over the weekend. Witherspoon's dinner with Haarmann came a year after her divorce with Toth was finalized. "It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce," Witherspoon and Toth said in a statement when announcing their split in March 2023. "We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together." She has previously spoken about the difficulties she experienced following her split, telling Harper's Bazaar in August 2023 that sharing her story herself felt more 'authentic' than letting others tell it, as they did during her split with Phillippe. "To be able to talk to people directly about what's going on in my life and just share it in the way that I share great professional experiences or personal experiences, it feels much more authentic to be able to say things in my own voice and not let somebody else control what's happening," she said. "Then, of course, there's speculation, but I can't control that. All I can do is be my most honest, forthright self and be vulnerable,' she added. Witherspoon shared that while the divorce was a 'vulnerable' time for her, she felt 'very connected' with those going through the same thing as her. One year after they first sparked romance rumors, Witherspoon and Haarmann were seen kissing and hugging while spending time together off the coast of Saint-Tropez. They were photographed swimming in the water while smiling and sharing sweet moments together. Prior to their yacht outing, a source told PEOPLE in October 2024 that he had been getting to know her two sons. "He's spending time with her kids too," the insider shared. "Reese loves that he's a businessman and not into Hollywood." Read the original article on People
