F1 The Movie Box Office Collection: Brad Pitt starrer off to flying start in India
F1: The Movie took trade by surprise in India, speeding off the line with a strong Rs. 6.50 crore (USD 750K) opening day. These numbers include Rs. 30 lakhs from IMAX fans' first previews earlier this week. The Hollywood box office in India is very much IP-based, with records of all sorts dominated by films from a handful of franchises. There are perhaps only five original Hollywood films, original in the sense of not being a sequel, prequel, reboot, spin-off or remake, that have managed to open above Rs. 5 crore. And even to compile that list, one has to look back nearly two decades to titles like 2012, Avatar and Life of Pi. The one key reason for a strong opening is probably the sport itself. Formula 1 or F1 enjoys a niche but passionate fan base in India, which turned up for the film. The film also benefits from being a large-screen spectacle, with IMAX accounting for over one-third of its business. Adding to the appeal is the fact that this is the director's follow-up to his 2022 global blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick. That, Tom Cruise fronted film opened to Rs. 3.50 crore and then went on to have a twenty-plus week run in India for Rs. 49 crore final gross. F1 is expected to show good growth over the weekend, with the first weekend projected to come in around Rs. 25 crore. That would have been a solid lifetime number for this film; now it can aim for a lot more. Although next week will see the release of the big Hollywood tentpole, Jurassic World, F1 has IMAXes to its disposal exclusively for the next two weeks, which should keep it running. A Rs. 50 crore plus final seems easy enough, which would be amongst the biggest ever for an original film in India.

Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning closes at ₹92 cr in India, misses franchise record by a margin
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning has concluded its theatrical journey in India, collecting a final ₹92 crore net at the box office. After four weeks of strong earnings totaling ₹89.50 crore, the film added another ₹2.50 crore in the following days to complete its lifetime figure. With new releases now taking over screens, the film is expected to add little more to its total from here. Despite falling short of expectations, the film has emerged as the second-highest earner in the Mission: Impossible franchise in India, just behind Dead Reckoning Part One, which had closed at ₹105.50 crore in 2023. It was initially expected that The Final Reckoning would surpass this figure, but that milestone remained unmet. Strong opening followed by steady run amid competition The Final Reckoning opened with the franchise's best-ever day-one collection in India. In its first week, the film earned ₹49 crore, followed by ₹24.50 crore in week two. The third week brought in ₹11.25 crore, while week four added another ₹5 crore. The final ₹2.5 crore came in after that, bringing the total to ₹92 crore. Despite facing challenges from Bloodlines, Kesari 2, and Housefull 5, the film maintained a strong presence in urban markets, supported by Tom Cruise's draw and loyal franchise fans. Global numbers fall short of break-even point On the international front, The Final Reckoning is headed towards a USD 600–625 million finish, which is higher than Dead Reckoning Part One's global collection of USD 571 million. While this would typically be a healthy figure for a long-running franchise's eighth installment, the film had an estimated budget of USD 300 million, meaning it needed to reach around USD 800 million globally to break even through theatrical revenue alone. This shortfall suggests that the producers might not recover their investment from box office earnings alone, though future streaming and syndication deals are expected to help bridge the gap. Every choice, every mission, has all led to this. Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. May 23, 2025. Top Hollywood import in India this year Despite not meeting its highest projections, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning remains 2024's top-performing Hollywood film in India, surpassing other imports such as Final Destination: Bloodlines. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the movie features a cast including Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames, and serves as the final chapter in Ethan Hunt's journey. Though it didn't reach the ₹125 crore mark, its ₹92 crore finish still marks a strong conclusion and further solidifies the franchise's popularity in India. The Mission: Impossible films have long been a staple for Indian audiences, and The Final Reckoning is expected to maintain momentum in the digital space as fans revisit the saga online.

Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning Lifetime India Box Office: Tom Cruise completes his last task as actioner nets good Rs 92 crore in full run
Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning has wrapped its theatrical run in India, netting a solid Rs 92 crore. After collecting Rs 89.50 crore net in 4 weeks, the Tom Cruise -led action thriller added Rs 2.50 crore in the days after, to take it to a very respectable final total. With exhibitors going all out on the new movies, there's not much M:I8 will be able to add from here. A Rs 92 crore net finish makes The Final Reckoning the second highest-grossing film in the Mission: Impossible franchise in India. It falls just behind Dead Reckoning Part One, which earned Rs 105.50 crore in 2023. The expectations for The Final Reckoning were to surpass Dead Reckoning's India numbers but that has not happened. The Final Reckoning Ends Its India Run With A Good But Slightly Underwhelming Rs 92 Crore Net In India The Final Reckoning took the biggest net start of the franchise in India on the opening day, and went on to collect Rs 49 crore in its first week. Week two saw a steady hold, earning Rs 24.50 crore. The third week added Rs 11.25 crore and then week 4 added Rs 5 crore. The final Rs 2.5 crore pushed the total to Rs 92 crore. The film faced stiff competition from Bloodlines, Kesari 2, and Housefull 5. Despite this, it held strong, especially in urban centers, driven by Tom Cruise's star power and the franchise's loyal fanbase. The Final Reckoning Looks To Under Perform Vis-à-Vis Expectations At The Global Box Office, Considering Its Astronomical Budget Globally, The Final Reckoning is heading toward a USD 600-625 million finish. This is higher than Dead Reckoning Part One's USD 571 million global total. It's a strong number for the eighth film in the 29-year-old franchise. However, with a USD 300 million budget, the movie needed atleast USD 800 million to break even theatrically. Falling short of this mark means producers may face losses from ticket sales. In the long run, streaming and TV syndication deals should help recover costs. Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning Continues To Be The Highest Grossing Hollywood Import In India This Year Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, The Final Reckoning also stars Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames. It marks the final chapter of Ethan Hunt's saga. While it didn't reach the expected Rs 125 crore in India, Rs 92 crore is a very respectable result. The movie continues to be the year's biggest Hollywood import in India, with the next best being Final Destination: Bloodlines. Mission: Impossible Is Among The Most Favourite Hollywood Franchises In India Mission: Impossible franchise remains a favorite in India, and this finale has left a mark. Fans will likely revisit it on streaming platforms, ensuring its legacy continues. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates on Tom Cruise and his upcoming films.
