The 15-month-old feline's finds include silk boxer shorts and thick men's work socks
A local cat is causing quite a stir in his neighborhood — stealing residents' underwear.
Leo, a 15-month-old feline that lives in the beachside area of Mairangi Bay in Auckland, New Zealand, has been given the nickname "Leonardo da Pinchy" due to his penchant for thievery.
Some of Leo's finds, the Associated Press reported, include silk boxer shorts and thick men's work socks.
The publication added that the cat once even swiped a brand-new cashmere sweater that retails for $181, as well as a 5-foot-long stuffed snake on another occasion.

According to the AP, Leo's stealing habit began a year ago, when he was allowed outdoors for the first time.
Leo's owner, Helen North, told the outlet that she has since used a neighborhood WhatsApp group and a local Facebook page to find the rightful owners of the stolen clothing items.

Still, despite the theft, North said local residents are more impressed than enraged by Leo's handiwork.
'All of our neighbors think he's amazing,' she told the AP. 'Some of them are quite put out that he hasn't actually stolen anything of theirs.'
North has attempted to end her cat's stealing, telling the AP she has tried keeping Leo indoors and has even left clothes out at home for him to steal, but nothing has worked.
'He only wants stuff that he shouldn't have,' the New Zealand resident said.

Explaining that someone online suggested she should get Leo a friend — and that might curb his love of stealing — North told the AP she is against the idea because "he might teach another cat to do this."
'I hope he grows out of it because I don't want to do this for, like, 15 years,' the woman added. 'This is a lot of admin.'

Viral video shows school showdown between a mom and her daughter's ‘bully'

A fed-up mom, frustrated that her child's school was seemingly doing nothing to stop her daughter from being cyber-bullied, has taken matters into her own hands and decided to confront her child's alleged bullies herself. An Auckland-based mom of four, shared a video of the confrontation on TikTok, where it has now amassed over 500,000 views. Advertisement The footage shows the mother walking into a room as an adult woman tells her to 'Stop'. She bypasses her, and begins speaking to a girl, while two other adults believed to be teachers stand between them. 'Why are you posting my daughter online? Huh?' she asked the young student, who was seated behind one of the teachers and whose face was blurred. One of the teachers tells the mother, 'This is not the place,' but she repeats her question to the girl: 'Why are you posting my daughter online?' TikTok / @sapphiremusix 'Do you know how many people die from suicide because of that?' she continues. 'Don't fat shame my daughter online.' When an adult threatens to call the police, the mother encourages them, saying she has 'proof' to show that her daughter's classmates are bullying her online. Meanwhile, the alleged bully remained silent, even as the mother revealed the online insults directed at her daughter included calling her a 'fat hippo'. Advertisement 'I have all the screenshots, you sent it to everybody to post,' she claimed. It is not known which school this occurred at. As one of the adults tries to diffuse the situation, the mom warns: 'If I have to come back, it won't be pretty,' before she walks away. While she admitted in the caption that she 'should have waited' for parent-teacher night, she said she 'couldn't help' but defend her daughter. Advertisement 'F–k bullying, f–k fat shaming. If you ain't teaching your kids that bullying is not okay, WTF (are) you doing? And I'd do it again,' the caption read. In the comments, most people praised the mom for dealing with the issue herself. 'This is exactly how it should be handled … Go you mamma!' said one comment with 7,000 likes. 'We stand with you mama!' another wrote. 'That's the way, stand up against bullying! Parents of bullies – do better,' a third wrote. 'Sometimes, parents of bullied children get so fed up that this is how they deal with the situation,' a fourth said. 'It's so scary how there are people out there advocating for anti-bullying and looking out for victims, but then figure that bullying bullies back is the solution?' someone else said. has reached out to the mother for comment. It comes after an Adelaide mom went viral in February for storming her daughter's classroom and confronting her alleged bully. Advertisement The footage of the moment shows the woman screaming violent threats at the student. 'You want to f–king go, bitch? You want to f–king go? You ever f–king talk to my daughter again,' she yelled as her husband attempts to push her away. 'You ever –king mess with my daughter again I'll slit your –king throat. I'll be waiting for you. And that smart little **** over there, yeah, you know what, you're just jealous because you're a **** ****. You're a **** ****.' Police were investigating the matter.

Mail carrier caught on camera pepper-spraying Rancho Cordova resident's cat

A Rancho Cordova resident says his cat was pepper-sprayed by the neighborhood postman. Chris Commander, Xena's owner, says he heard the carrier yelling at the cat on his Ring camera. After going outside, Commander says he discovered Xena appeared to have been pepper-sprayed. Commander says the carrier denied it, saying he was a cat person himself. "I don't see why you'd spray a cat that just wanted to be pet," Commander told CBS News Sacramento. "It was just frustrating and kind of sad to see that." The 15-year-old cat is OK. Commander says he reached out to the U.S. Postal Service and they said they are looking into the incident. "The United States Postal Service holds its employees to high standards of conduct and any actions that conflict with these values are taken seriously," USPS said in a statement. Mail carriers are equipped with repellent spray and a whistle, as told to CBS News Sacramento after another incident involving a pet and a mail carrier in the Sacramento area earlier in the year.

Former captain Brendan Taylor to make emotional return to Zimbabwe cricket after 3 ½-year ban

BULAWAYO, Zimbabwe (AP) — Former Zimbabwe cricket captain Brendan Taylor is set to return to international cricket after serving a 3 ½-year ban for breaching the sport's anti-corruption code. Taylor has been named in Zimbabwe's 16-member squad for the second test against New Zealand, starting in Bulawayo on Aug. 7. 'I certainly did think it was all done, but here I am - and it's an overwhelming feeling of gratitude,' Taylor said in a statement issued by Zimbabwe Cricket on Wednesday. 'I have to pinch myself a little to realise that I'm actually here. I've been soaking it all up and embracing every moment. It's just been a really nice integration. 'The last year and a half has certainly been dedicated to my return. I've put in an immense amount of work - from fitness to the technical side to diet - and I'm feeling a lot leaner, fitter and mentally stronger. That's only been possible through sobriety.' The International Cricket Council banned Taylor in Jan. 2022 after he admitted to four charges under the anti-corruption code stemming from an incident in 2019 when he said he accepted $15,000 from businessmen in India, who asked him to fix international games. Taylor claimed he took the money but never fixed any games. He also was found guilty of an anti-doping offense after testing positive for the stimulant Benzoylecognine, which is a cocaine metabolite. Taylor has undergone a thorough rehabilitation programme and has according to ZC, the former captain has 'consistently demonstrated a sincere commitment to personal growth, accountability and restoring trust.' 'Brendan has endured an incredibly difficult chapter in his life and shown genuine remorse, coupled with a powerful determination to make things right – not just for himself but for the good of the game in Zimbabwe,' ZC managing director Givemore Makoni said. Taylor has played 34 test matches for Zimbabwe since making his debut in 2004 that include six centuries. ___ AP cricket:
