Munawar Faruqui Reveals He Married Mehzabeen Coatwala For His Son Mikael: ‘I Need Him More'
Munawar Faruqui reveals he married Mehzabeen Coatwala for his son Mikael. 'I needed him with me,' says the Bigg Boss 17 winner in a candid interview with Farah Khan.
Comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui has finally opened up about the real reason behind his quiet wedding to makeup artist Mehzabeen Coatwala in May 2024. In a candid conversation with Farah Khan on her YouTube channel, Munawar shared that the decision to get married wasn't planned long in advance—it was made just a month before the wedding—and was rooted deeply in his love for his son, Mikael.
When Farah asked him if he knew Mehzabeen while he was still in the Bigg Boss house, Munawar responded with a firm 'No." She was surprised to learn that the wedding happened within just five months of them knowing each other.
Opening up about the moment that changed everything, Munawar said, 'When I came out of Bigg Boss, I was working a lot. Mikael was living with my sister then. He was with me for a week and we spent a lot of time together and when he was leaving, I felt like I don't want him to go. I felt that he needs me. He kept hugging me the whole time."
He continued, 'When he was leaving, I felt like he needs me and more than him, I think I need him. In that moment, I thought what is it that I should do so I can make him stay with me. For him, I took that decision."
Munawar also revealed that his now-wife Mehzabeen was in a similar phase of life. 'She too has a 10-year-old daughter," he shared. When Farah commented on their 'blended family," Munawar called it a 'puzzle." Reflecting on his proposal, he said, 'I asked her the next day, 'Are you okay marrying me?' I stayed with that decision the whole night. I felt that Mikael should stay with me, I was just praying for that."
The wedding was kept under wraps, with no official announcement on social media. In fact, it was only after a fan shared details online—and actress Hina Khan was spotted attending—that the news started gaining traction. Munawar didn't post about it, keeping the event private and intimate.
Back when he was still inside the Bigg Boss house, Munawar was making headlines for his tumultuous love life. He was said to be dating Nazila Sitaishi, who later announced their breakup during a live session on Instagram while he was on the show. During one of the episodes, Munawar had revealed that his former wife had already remarried and that he had sole custody of his son Mikael.
'I know I've made mistakes," Munawar had once said in the house. But now, with this new chapter of his life, the comedian seems focused on moving forward—with love, purpose, and family at the centre of it all.

Is Apoorva Mukhijas Net Worth Rs 41 Crore? The Rebel Kid Reacts To Viral Claims
New Delhi: A post about Apoorva Mukhija's net worth is making waves on the internet. The viral claim suggests that the star influencer earns Rs 2.5 lakh every day and has built a Rs 41 crore empire. A post by an IITian further fueled the discussion. On X (formerly Twitter), user @digitalsangghi shared a note highlighting how society values content creation over academic achievements. The post ignited a debate on the evolving definitions of success and societal achievement. Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as "Kaleshi Aurat," has finally broken her silence. She took to her Instagram stories to clarify that the claims are inaccurate. The post she shared read: 'According to Business Today, Apoorva Mukhija makes Rs 2.5 lakh every single day, and with her savage online alter ego 'Kaleshi Aurat', she's built a ₹41 crore empire, charging up to ₹6 lakh for a reel ad and ₹2 lakh for a 30-second story.' Reacting to the post, Apoorva wrote: 'Galat hai bhai????' The Rebel Kid's Alleged Net Worth The viral post by the IITian stated: "Studied 14 hours a day to crack India's toughest engineering exam, gave up home, friends, cousins, sleep, and dreams – got into IIT, then fought for 4+2 years with CGPA nightmares, lab viva trauma, and placement tension. Today? Not even 100 people know me." The post then contrasted this with Apoorva's online fame: "Meanwhile... reels, red lipstick, semi-nudes, and abusing openly, using BC-MC as filler, can build a ₹41 crore empire. World's truly fair." The post sparked a flurry of reactions, with many users criticizing the need to compare two entirely different paths. One user commented: "You studied 14 hours a day for IIT, got selected, and will get a good job – that's what you chased and achieved. Kudos to you. She chose fame, must have worked hard for it, and got what she chased – kudos to her. Comparing apples and oranges is ridiculous. That's the reason for our misery." Apoorva was recently seen in The Traitors, hosted by Karan Johar. Earlier this year, she made her big-screen debut in Nadaaniyan, starring alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor.

Watch: "Is This The Stupidest Yet?" Mark Zuckerberg On Wild July 4 Stunt
Continuing his Independence Day tradition of riding a surfboard, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Friday (Jul 4) posted a video of himself in the act, albeit with a little twist. The tech billionaire has previously been seen wakesurfing with a US flag, but this time, he wore an inflatable suit printed with the American flag. This year, the fourth of July marked the 249th anniversary of the founding of the United States. The Meta boss has made a yearly tradition of performing a daring stunt on the water as his niche to celebrate the day, with social media users looking forward to it. "Happy 4th of July! US," Mr Zuckerberg captioned the video, where he could be heard saying: "Is this the stupidest thing we have done so far?" View this post on Instagram A post shared by Mark Zuckerberg (@zuck) 'Can't imagine how' As the video went viral, social media users cheered the Meta CEO and wondered how he will top this tradition next year. "I literally woke up this morning and asked myself what you were going to do this year to top off the last few years," said one user while another added: "Full send !!!! I can't imagine how you'll celebrate next year." A third commented: "The internet now requires you to one-up this challenge every year until you're holding a live eagle with fireworks shooting off the base of the board while chugging a beer in 2030." A fourth said: "Lol. Nothing stupid about this. I need to see more of it. Happy 4th of July USA." Last year, Mr Zuckerberg's Independence Day video featured him dressed in a tuxedo, sipping a beer in one hand and waving the American flag in the other as he surfed, set to Bruce Springsteen's 'Born in the USA". Before that in 2021, he rode the surfboard in slippers, holding the US flag, with a scenic view in the background.
