The actor recently stepped out in the city to attend an event, where the paparazzi asked him the secret behind his remarkable weight loss.
Dilip Joshi, known for his iconic character Jethalal in the popular comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has been making waves on the internet with his significant weight loss journey. Reports suggest he lost 16 kg in 45 days- all without hitting the gym or following a strict diet.
Now, during a recent appearance, the actor has finally opened up about his fitness routine, which is now getting viral on social media.
What does he have to say?
The actor recently stepped out in the city to attend an event, where the paparazzi asked him the secret behind his remarkable weight loss. He laughed and responded to the buzz on social media.
Dilip said, 'Areey, 1992 mein kiya tha bhai, abhi pata nahi kissi ne social media pe chala diya yaar (Oh, it was in 1992, brother. I'm not sure who posted it on social media now)." Following that, photographers informed him that the image was currently trending on social media. Dilip, on the other hand, smiled and thanked them before entering the venue.
Dilip previously told Mashable India about his weight loss journey, revealing that he shed 16 kg in just one and a half months with regular running. In the 1990s, he was rehearsing for a role in the Gujarati film Hun Hunshi Hunshilal.
He used to run every day after work while working a typical office job. 'I used to change at the swimming club and jog down Marine Drive to the Oberoi Hotel, even in the rain, and back. The entire run would take about 45 minutes," he explained. This basic yet efficient regimen helped him meet his fitness objectives.
Coming back to his work front, Dilip has been a part of a number of Bollywood films including Hum Aapke Hain Koun!, Maine Pyaar Kiya, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, One 2 Ka 4, Khiladi 420, Dil Hai Tumhaara and Dhoondte Reh Jaoge, among others.
He has been a part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah since its inception in 2008 and garnered much appreciation from the audience for his performance as Jethalal.

Saiyaara is a romantic musical drama film directed by Mohit Suri. Produced by Yash Raj Films, it features debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. The film is loosely inspired by the 2004 Korean movie A Moment To Remember. IMDb describes plot of Saiyaara as, 'Vaani (Aneet Padda) and Krish (Ahaan Pandey) will have to navigate life, their problems, their insecurities to hopefully realise that only love can be the answer to everything.' Speaking about Saiyaara's first weekend performance, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted on X, formerly Twitter, 'SENSATIONAL SATURDAY – 'SAIYAARA' BLOCKBUSTER TREND CONTINUES… After hitting it out of the park on Friday, #Saiyaara posted phenomenal numbers on Saturday… In fact, the numbers would've been even higher had it received a wider release." 'What #Saiyaara is achieving is both UNIMAGINABLE and UNPRECEDENTED… The film is in rampage mode – not just across metros, but also in Tier-2 and Tier-3 centres... Midnight shows are being added to meet the overwhelming demand. Sunday is expected to surpass both Friday and Saturday... A ₹ 75 cr [+/-] weekend is very much on the cards – HISTORIC, especially for a film headlined by newcomers. Going by current trends, #Saiyaara is set to become the second #Blockbuster of 2025, after #Chhaava.

Surveen Chawla Reveals She Nearly Quit Bollywood Due To Casting Couch: 'It Felt Dirty…'

Last Updated: Surveen Chawla almost quit after facing rampant casting couch demands, shares experiences of harassment in the industry. Surveen Chawla is set to return on screen with Netflix's Mandala Murders, but behind the scenes she once reached a breaking point—nearly walking away from the industry entirely. Speaking with Siddharth Kannan, Surveen recalled a period when harassment was so rampant she felt the business had lost its integrity. 'There was a time when it was all about casting couch. It just felt dirty to even step out and I was like, 'I don't want to do this'. There was that phase. It was almost like it was trending," she said, stressing she wasn't referring to social media but the sheer frequency with which such compromises were expected. She admitted that standing her ground came at a cost. 'Everytime I would lose a part because I had the audacity to say no, or the audacity to just keep my ground in some way shape or form. But it was crazy. I felt like I have hit the end of the road. So that phase was like really tough. And I had to lay low and laze around and be like 'I can't do this, this is not what I was here for' sort of a thing." Surveen also reopened a disturbing chapter from her past during a conversation with Hauterrfly. Sharing a surreal moment from Mumbai's Veera Desai Road, she recounted an encounter with a director she had just met. 'We had just spoken about my marriage inside his cabin — he even asked how my husband was doing… So, when I came to the door to say bye, he leaned towards me trying to kiss, and I had to push him back. I was startled and asked him what he was doing, and I just walked off." That moment left a lasting impact. 'I had to push him back. I was startled… and I just walked off." These candid revelations show that even in a post-#MeToo era, ethical lines are still being crossed. Surveen's decision to speak out again feels like a wake-up call to the industry—and a reminder that personal boundaries can't be ignored.
