Luis Henrique made his debut for Inter Milan in this week's Club World Cup group stage opener against Monterrey.
The Brazilian only just signed for the Nerazzurri a couple of weeks ago. But it is already clear what the plan is for Henrique.
The 23-year-old looks capable of being the backup for Denzel Dumfries on the right flank. And if anything, he could even look to rival the Dutchman for the starting spot.
Against Monterrey, Henrique's pace and technical ability were clearly on show.

As far as whether he thinks that Henrique could displaced him, the Italian international said 'no, we know that we'll need everyone next season.'
'Luis Henrique is a top player,' Darmian continued.
'He's been showing that already in his first training sessions.'
Darmian predicted that Henrique 'will give us a big hand.'
'Then I'm always available. When I'm called into action as a wingback or defender. Whether for one minute or ninety.'
'I always try to help the team,' declared Darmian.
The former Manchester United and Parma defender added that 'with the mentality I have, when I can, I want to be an example.'

Then, Matteo Darmian proclaimed that there's 'absolutely' room for growth at Inter.
'It's normal that we have a bit of tiredness after the season we had. But when you step out on the pitch it's always the last thing you feel.'
'We always try to give our best,' added the 35-year-old.

Agent Confirms Teenage Inter Milan Defender ‘Has A Lot Of Offers' & Quashes Donnarumma Links
The agent of Inter Milan defender Matteo Cocchi says that the teenage 'has a lot of offers' this summer transfer window. Agent Enzo Raiola spoke to FCInterNews after his visit to the Nerazzurri headquarters. He also denied links between Inter and Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Advertisement Young Inter Milan defender Matteo Cocchi is a player with his future in the balance this summer. The 18-year-old enjoyed a breakout season with the Nerazzurri's Primavera, or Under-20, side. Therefore, it seems as though Cocchi is ready to take the next step. He will be playing senior football next season. Where that will be, however, is the big question. There will be no shortage of opportunities. Cocchi could play for Inter's Under-23 team next season. The Nerazzurri are setting the team up in order to give exactly that kind of opportunity to players from their youth academy. However, on the other hand, it could also be possible that Cocchi goes out on loan next season. As far as Cocchi, Raiola said that 'we talked about him specifically.' 'We're evaluating him,' the agent added. 'Because some interesting clubs have asked about him.' 'We're trying to decide what's best for him. Stay, or gain experience elsewhere.' 'There are some offers from abroad,' Raiola said of Cocchi. 'And others from Italy.' 'But it's early now. He's young, and he finished his first adventure with the first team in the US for the Club World Cup a couple weeks ago.' Advertisement 'He'll be back with the first team soon,' said Raiola. 'There's time to figure out which path for him to take.' Then, the agent confirmed that 'some of the offers are from Serie A.' And of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, Raiola said 'that wasn't on the agenda today.' 'Inter already have a goalkeeper,' he made clear. 'For now everything's quiet on that front.' 'If PSG sell him that's another story. But right now, it's not a discussion that I started with Inter, as I already said.'

Atletico Madrid finalising deal for USMNT midfielder Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis
Atletico Madrid are in the final stages of a deal to sign U.S. Men's National Team midfielder Johnny Cardoso from Spanish rivals Real Betis. The clubs have agreed a fee in the region of of €30million (£25.5m; $34.8m), while personal terms are in place between Atleti and Cardoso – although his contract is still to be signed. Advertisement Tottenham Hotspur had a first refusal option for the 23-year-old which became active this summer – agreed as part of Giovani Lo Celso's transfer to Betis in 2024 – but the agreement expired on June 10, paving the way for Atleti to move for Cardoso. The Athletic reported on June 25 that Atleti were in talks to sign Cardoso following club-to-club negotiations which occurred in Madrid earlier in the month. Cardoso joined Betis from Brazilian side Internacional in January 2024 and has since made 65 appearances for the La Liga club, primarily operating at the base of midfield. He played a key role in his side's run to the Conference League final last season, missing just two matches in the European campaign, while also helping his side to a sixth-placed finish in the Spanish top-flight, securing Betis a spot in next season's Europa League. In February, Cardoso signed a contract extension which added a year to his existing terms with Betis, meaning his contract would run to 2030. The midfielder made his senior USMNT debut as a 19-year-old in November 2020 after making five appearances for the under-23 team. He has since played 22 times for his nation, including in friendly defeats to Turkey and Switzerland in June, before Gold Cup group stage matches against Saudi Arabia and Haiti this summer. He withdrew from Mauricio Pochettino's CONCACAF Nations League squad in March due to a muscle injury. Atletico will play Champions League football next season after their third-place finish in La Liga and competed in this summer's expanded Club World Cup in the U.S. ()
