NIIs drive demand for Smartworks Coworking Spaces IPO; GMP up 5%

Smartworks Coworking Spaces IPO subscritpion status: Non-institutional investors (NIIs) were driving the demand for the initial public offering (IPO) of workspace solutions provider Smartworks Coworking Spaces, leading to its full subscription on the final day of subscription on July 14, 2025.
Smartworks Coworking Spaces IPO received bids for 1,62,51,804 shares against 1,04,01,828 on offer, resulting in an oversubscription of 1.56 times till 10:48 AM on July 14, showed the NSE data.
Among the individual categories, NIIs bid the highest, oversubscribing the category reserved for them by 2.76 times. This was followed by retail investors, who bid 1.57 times.
However, the response from qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) remains sluggish, as they are yet to fully subscribe to their category. They have booked 64 percent of their reserved quota.
Smartworks Coworking Spaces IPO details
The public offering comprises a fresh issue of 10.9 million equity shares worth ₹445 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) through which promoters and investors are selling up to 3.4 million shares worth approximately ₹137.56 crore.
Smartworks Coworking Spaces IPO is being offered at a price band of ₹387-407 per share and a lot size of 36 shares.
Investors can bid for a minimum of 1 lot or 36 shares of Smartworks Coworking Spaces IPO with an investment amount of ₹14,652.
Smartworks Coworking Spaces will not receive any proceeds from the OFS, which will be given to shareholders divesting their stakes through the public issue. The company proposes to utilise the proceeds from the fresh issue for repayment, prepayment, or redemption (in full or part) of certain borrowings, to meet capital expenditure for fit-outs in new centres, and for placing security deposits at new centres. The company will further use the proceeds for general corporate purposes.
For the public issue, the company has appointed Kfin Technologies as registrar, while GYR Capital Advisors serves as the book-running lead manager.
Smartworks Coworking Spaces IPO grey market premium (GMP) today
The unlisted shares of Smartworks Coworking Spaces were commanding a decent premium in the grey market on Monday. Sources tracking unofficial market activity reveled that the unlisted shares of Smartworks Coworking Spaces were trading at around ₹427 apiece, indicating a grey market premium (GMP) of ₹4.91 or 4.91 per cent over the upper end of the issue price of ₹407.
Smartworks Coworking Spaces IPO allotment date, listing date
As the public issue closes for subscription today, the basis for allotment of company shares is set to be finalised on Tuesday, July 15. The company's shares will be credited into demat accounts tentatively on July 16.
Shares of Smartworks Coworking Spaces are slated to list on the BSE and NSE tentatively on July 17.

The Indian rupee gave up initial gains to settle 4 paise lower at 86.16 (provisional) against the US dollar on Friday, dragged by foreign fund outflows, rising global crude oil prices and a steep decline in domestic equity markets. However, a weak greenback against major currencies prevented a sharp depreciation in the local unit. Dollar index gave back recent gains and is quoting lower by 0.4% at 98.06. Meanwhile, Indian shares fell notably on Friday, with uncertainty over U.S. tariffs and a muted start to the quarterly earnings season weighing on markets. The benchmark S&P/BSE Sensex fell 501.51 points, or 0.61 percent, to 81,757.73 while the broader NSE Nifty index closed at 24,968.40, down 143.05 points, or 0.57 percent, from its previous close. At the interbank foreign exchange, the rupee opened higher against the US dollar at 85.99 and moved in the range of 85.97-86.23 before closing at 86.16 (provisional), down 4 paise from its previous close. On the NSE, USDINR futures were marginally lower at 86.17.

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) may impose higher additional margins for electricity futures in times of high volatility , said Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Chairperson of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) at the launch of Monthly Electricity Futures here on Friday. 'Electricity has been categorised as a high volatile commodity, thereby attracting a high initial margin requirements. This will discourage undue speculative activity. Additional margins may be imposed in times of heightened volatility,' said Mr. Pandey at the event. Electricity futures are future contracts with electricity as the underlying commodity which was introduced in order to arrest volatility in electricity prices and intended for manufacturers, power generators and distributors to hedge losses at times of price spike. The product was introduced after consultation with a joint working group with SEBI, NSE and Central Electricity Regulation Commission(CERC). The product will b monthly expiry and 95% of the market share in this product is with NSE and the rest with MCX. Trading in the product started on Monday. 'This is a very new product and will take time for stake holders to understand. The initial liquidity is expected to come from industry participants after which the financial participants will follow,' said Anindya Banerjee , Commodities analyst at Kotak Securities.

Adani Group on Friday exited AWL Agri Business (formerly known as Adani Wilmar) by selling its remaining 10.42 per cent stake in the company for Rs 3,732 crore through open market transactions, according to the BSE data. Adani Commodities LLP (ACL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, offloaded a total of 13,54,82,400 equity shares in 11 tranches on Friday, amounting to a 10.42 per cent stake in AWL Agri Business, as per the block deal data on the BSE. The transaction was valued at around Rs 3,732.54 crore and executed at an average price of Rs 275.50 apiece. Meanwhile, Dubai-based Shajaeatan Investment FZCO purchased a little over 11.07 crore equity shares or 8.52 per cent in AWL Agri Business for Rs 3,049.99 crore. Quant Mutual Fund (MF), IDFC MF, Bandhan MF, Jupiter Fund Management, Morgan Stanley Asia Singapore, US-based Susquehanna International Group, Franklin Templeton, Vanguard, and Singapore-based Duro Capital were among the buyers of AWL Agri Business shares on the BSE. Shares of AWL Agri Business slipped 1.31 per cent to close at Rs 274.60 apiece on the BSE. On Thursday, billionaire Gautam Adani-promoted Adani Group said it has sold a 20 per cent stake in AWL Agri Business to Wilmar International Singapore for Rs 7,150 crore, as part of its decision to exit the FMCG business and focus on the infrastructure vertical. In January, ACL had already sold a 13.51 per cent stake in AWL through the offer for sale route, generating Rs 4,855 crore. AWL Agri Business sells edible oil and other food products under Fortune brand. In December last year, Adani Group had announced divestment of its entire 44 per cent stake in AWL to sharpen its focus on core infrastructure businesses. During the 2024-25 fiscal, AWL Agri Business Ltd had posted a net profit of Rs 1,225.81 crore on a total income of Rs 63,910.28 crore.
