Saudi Crown Prince calls on international community to end Israeli aggression on Gaza
MINA — Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman reaffirmed the role of the international community in ending the disastrous repercussions of the Israeli aggression on Gaza. He made the remarks while addressing the annual reception for heads of state, leaders of countries and distinguished dignitaries performing Hajj this year at the Royal Court of Mina Palace on Saturday.
The Crown Prince delivered the speech on behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman. "This blessed Eid Al-Adha comes while our brothers in Palestine continue to suffer as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression. We emphasize the role of the international community in ending the disastrous repercussions of this aggression, as well as in protecting innocent civilians, and working toward a new reality where Palestine can enjoy peace in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions," he said.
At the outset of the speech, the Crown Prince said: "It is our pleasure, from the vicinity of the Sacred House of God, to congratulate you and all Muslims around the world on the blessed Eid Al-Adha. We ask God Almighty to accept the pilgrims' Hajj and good deeds," he said.
The Crown Prince highlighted Saudi Arabia's lofty position in serving Islam and Muslims, especially the Hajj pilgrims. "God Almighty has honored this country with the service of the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, including Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and visitors. Saudi Arabia has placed this at the forefront of its priorities, devoting all its capabilities to serving the guests of God and facilitating performance of their rituals in ease and comfort," he said while reaffirming that Saudi Arabia, with God's help and guidance, will continue this endeavor, recognizing the great responsibility and honor of service.
"We ask God Almighty to perpetuate security and stability in our country, and in all Muslim countries and across the world, and to accept the Hajj of the pilgrims to the Sacred House of God, and enable them return safely to their families," the Crown Prince added.
The reception was attended by several eminent Islamic figures, guests of the King, guests of government agencies, heads of delegations, and pilgrim affairs offices. The dignitaries included President of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Vice President of Benin Mariam Chabi Talata Zimi Berima; and former Somali President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.
Minister of Hajj and Umrah and Chairman of the Hajj Guests Service Program Committee Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Secretary General of the Muslim World League for Jerusalem and Palestine and Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Hussein, and Syrian Minister of Endowments Sheikh Mohammed Abu al-Khair Shukri also spoke on the occasion.
In his speech Al-Rabiah highlighted the most notable achievements of this year's Hajj season, including the implementation of 46 new energy projects with a total cost of over SR3 billion, as well as several projects in the transport and health sectors. This is in addition to several infrastructure projects with more than 300,000 square meters of shaded areas and updating of the Nusuk app to provide more than 130 digital services and streamlining of the Nusuk Masar digital platform.

Syria Ready to Cooperate with US to Reimplement 1974 Disengagement Deal with Israel
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani said on Friday that Syria was ready to cooperate with the US in order to reimplement the 1974 disengagement agreement with Israel, according to Al Arabiya. Return to Disengagement Deal Al-Shaibani's statement comes after a phone call with his American Counterpart Marco Rubio. During the call, Al-Shaibani expressed Syria's 'aspiration to cooperate with the United States to return to the 1974 disengagement agreement.' In May, US President Donald Trump met Syria's Interim President Ahmed Al-Sharaa in Saudi Arabia and urged him to normalize ties with Israel. Aspiration for Diplomatic Ties On Monday, Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said that his country is 'interested' in establishing diplomatic ties with its neighbors Lebanon and Syria, according to Reuters. 'Israel is interested in expanding the Abraham Accord circle of peace and normalization,' Saar said at a news conference. Crucially, Al-Sharaa confirmed indirect talks with Israel to reduce tensions. Moreover, Al-Sharaa has repeatedly said Damascus does not seek involvement into any conflict with its neighbors. Therefore, he urged the international community to press on Israel to halt its attacks on Syria. Golan Heights Will Be out of Discussion Meanwhile, Saar stressed that the occupied Golan Heights 'will remain part of Israel' under any possible peace agreement with Syria. 'In any peace agreement, the Golan will remain part of the State of Israel,' Saar stated. On Wednesday, Syrian state media described the statements about normalizing relations with Israel as 'premature', after an Israeli official welcomed diplomatic ties with Damascus, according to AFP. 'Statements concerning signing a peace agreement with the Israeli occupation at this time are considered premature,' state TV reported an unidentified official source as saying. The source also said that the possibility of negotiations over a new peace deal was not possible until Israel fully adhered to the 1974 disengagement agreement and withdrew from the areas it has penetrated. US Strikes Set Back Iranian Nuclear Program by up to 2 Years: Pentagon
The Pentagon said that US strikes last month on Iranian nuclear facilities degraded Tehran's nuclear programme by up to two years, according to Reuters. 'We have degraded their program by one to two years, at least intel assessments inside the department assess that,' Sean Parnell, a Pentagon spokesperson, said at a news briefing on Wednesday. Parnell also said that the US military campaign likely achieved its goals despite a far more cautious initial assessment that leaked to the public. REUTERS Israel Iran Conflict On June 13, Israel launched a wave of airstrikes on Iran under the name of Operation Rising Lion. The military campaign targeted Iran's nuclear facilities and killed top military commanders and nuclear scientists. As a response, Iran launched a retaliatory wave of missiles against Israel and targeted Tel Aviv. Israel also killed several Iranian nuclear scientists in line with its goal to eliminate Iran's nuclear program. Crucially, Israel announced that it was hit by over 50 missiles during the 12-day war with Iran, resulting in 28 deaths. However, the real extent of the damage may never be known because of strict media restrictions. The Israeli airstrikes on Iran killed at least 627 people and injured approximately 4,900.
