People 'rocked to their core' after learning Jet2 lady is secretly TV legend

Metro14-07-2025
TV fans have been left shocked to discover who is behind the voice of all those Jet2 adverts.
Set to the tune of Jess Glynne's Hold My Hand, the adverts are known for their high-energy voice telling viewers that 'Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday', alongside shots of a family of four enjoying a sun-soaked jaunt abroad.
The woman behind the viral – and widely spoofed – campaigns for the holiday company is none other than the actor Zoë Lister.
TV viewers only recently learned that the voice behind the offers and discounts in the voiceover is none other than the 43-year-old actor, who has had roles in the likes of Hollyoaks, Midsomer Murders and Staff Room.
The discovery came in part thanks to That's TV Thames Valley, who interviewed Lister but billed her as a 'Maidenhead woman' who's become a viral sensation.
When the publication shared the interview on X, many immediately took to the comments to share their shock that she local woman was in fact none other than the Hollyoaks star behind the ad campaign.
@amyvangar wrote: 'I'm sorry – Zoe Carpenter from Hollyoaks is *the* Jet2 lady!? Did we all know this??'
@TVAddict2025 replied: 'This revelation has rocked me to my core,' as @j11_lee added: 'The woman from the most iconic parachute jump scene in living history? Oh my daysssss.'
@lentildahlmash simply tweeted: 'THIS IS WILD,' as @katyknowskungfu said: 'My mind is BLOWN.'
Lister told the publication the voiceover work was initially only for a 'small campaign' around Love Island four years ago.
'I was just employed to do the bumpers, like, something to do with 'Get a flight if you enter this competition', that sort of thing.
'Then they were like, 'Oh, actually, we'll have your voice for the whole campaign'. And that's just been rolling ever since every year, which has been incredible. More Trending
'It feels like silly joy, which is what people need right now, I think. It's not serious, it's light hearted.'
Lister went on to reference the viral sensation the ads have become, with many lip syncing along to spoofs of the ad – including Kim Kardashian's hairdresser, she noted.
'[It] feels so bizarre, but I do love it, because people are sending me videos all the time,' she said. 'I love the creativity. People are just really funny. For the next generation, the generation Z that has made it what it is, it reminds them of days gone by adverts, when they were little.'

Lister played a character with the same first name, Zoe Carpenter, on the Channel 4 soap from 2006 to 2010, making a brief return in April 2017.

Hollyoaks' Jorgie Porter oozes beauty in red bikini on beach 7 months after giving birth

Hollyoaks actress and mum-of-two Jorgie Porter, 37, only gave birth eight months ago, but already looks flawless as she enjoys some downtime on the beach in sunny Marbella, Spain Actress Jorgie Porter looks absolutely incredible as she suns herself in Marbella wearing a tiny red bikini, less than eight months after giving birth to her second child. The former Hollyoaks actress, 37, is mum to two young children. ‌ Her first-born is son Forest, who she welcomed in November 2022. Then, on December 10, 2024, she and her fiancé, Ollie Piotrowski, had their second child together; a baby girl named Peony. The couple also co-parent Ollie's 10-year-old son, Alfie. ‌ In stunning new photos of Jorgie on holiday in Marbella, the soap star oozed beauty as she frolicked on the beach. On one photo she can be seen wearing a pair of oversized shades as she stood in the surf. It comes after Channel 4 breaks silence after Gogglebox couple suddenly dumped from show. ‌ Another sees her elegantly kneeling on the sand while she soaks up the sun, sunglasses in hand. Other snaps show her taming her long, blonde locks with her hand after taking a dip in the sea. Jorgie's washboard abs and toned legs had a light tan from her sunny holiday, while the mum-of-two enjoyed some downtime ahead of her soap comeback. The actress will reprise her character Theresa McQueen in October, for spin-off show Hollyoaks Later. ‌ Jorgie has previously spoken about her post-baby body, putting her weight management down to one simple trick. After she had her first baby, the actress shared the secret to her postpartum weight loss. She told the Sun: "This is literally due to breastfeeding and Forest is 18kg now. I'm carrying this little thing around constantly has helped. ‌ "I'm also just always running around doing things - I'm happy with my body but it goes up and down all the time." Jorgie announced the birth of her second baby in December, thanking medical staff for taking care of her and her family. Shortly after her daughter's birth, she revealed in an exclusive chat with the Mirror how she was finding being a mum of two. ‌ 'It's hard. Nobody tells you that it's the hardest thing in the world because you've got a toddler that wants all your attention and you've, obviously, got a little baby that's attached to you, literally that is another level of mum-ness. It is hard. We're in the trenches, this is the trenches we're deep in there.' Juggling two children is tricky for a number of reasons, but Jorgie reveals she finds her son Forest's jealousy particularly difficult – but is making slow progress helping her eldest adjust to the new family dynamic. She explains: 'Honestly, it's great but I think there's jealousy bits when the toddler is like, 'you're my mummy, get off this one, put her in the carseat', like, 'No Forest, we're cuddling her'. ‌ 'It's tricky because he can't understand that I'm her Mummy, too. But he does know, it's weird. It's very hard to navigate. It's going there, it's brilliant. I think there's everyday you go, 'Oh that's a win, that's brilliant, we're out together in a pram, we did it'. So it is going well.' Jorgie announced her daughter's arrival in December by writing on Instagram, she said: "She's here …..! We are complete [heart emoji]. Thank you to everyone at Wigan hospital Especially @sandi_goulding who is our everything couldn't of asked for a better day." She then shared a sweet photo of herself holding her newborn's tiny hand. ‌ In May last year, Jorgie shared the news of her pregnancy on an episode of ITVBe's Drama Queens, as well as on her Instagram page. She posted a video of her fiancé, son and their dog covering a baby scan print out with their hands (and paw). She wrote alongside the post: "We've been keeping a little secret." Then, in September, she shared footage from her gender reveal party. Proudly showing off her bump in a long-sleeved white mini dress, Jorgie held a huge balloon that had the words 'Boy or girl?' printed on it. She then shared a clip of a huge white cake, with 'coming soon' iced on top. ‌ Jorgie and Ollie could be seen digging a wine glass each into the cake to see what the colour of the sponge was. Jorgie exclaimed: "Yay!", as she turned the glass around to show the pink filling of the cake. Forest and his half brother Alfie, who lives with them half of the time in their Greater Manchester home, couldn't wait to meet their little sister. But Jorgie started to get impatient with her pregnancy, telling OK! magazine that it felt like it went on for "100 years". ‌ She told the mag: "Honestly, it was the longest time. Margot Robbie had her baby about a week after she announced her pregnancy – I was pregnant for what felt like 100 years! "The trouble was that my bump popped really early so I couldn't hide it. By the end I'd wake up every day and think, 'Yup, I'm still a whale, I'm not getting away from this.''So it was harder this time, but I felt like I really should enjoy it more and milk it. So if I randomly wanted to lie down, I'd lie down, I just didn't care what other people thought. I just wanted to enjoy it."

Midsomer Murders star 'never thought' they'd return after 22 years to replace detective

Daniel Casey played DS Gavin Troy alongside John Nettles Daniel Casey never imagined he would revisit Midsomer Murders after departing the programme 22 years ago. ‌ The actor famously played DS Gavin Troy in the beloved ITV series alongside John Nettles, who brought detective Tom Barnaby to life. ‌ Yet despite having no previous inclination to make a comeback, Daniel is now preparing to fill John Nettles' considerable boots as he takes on the role of DCI Tom Barnaby in a brand new theatrical adaptation of The Killings at Badger's Drift. ‌ Discussing his upcoming role, Daniel described it as "a massive promotion" whilst recognising he has "big shoes to fill." In conversation with the Northern Echo, Daniel offered a heartfelt tribute to John, revealing he "learned at the feet of the master", reports the Manchester Evening News. ‌ "Barnaby and Troy had an almost father/son, mentor/pupil relationship, and that is very much like my relationship with John," the actor explained. "When he learned that I was taking on the role in the play, he said, 'Well, he's learned at the feet of the master.'" Daniel and John worked side by side from the pilot episode in 1996 to 2003, when Daniel chose to depart. ‌ "I spent all those years standing next to him, watching and listening, so hopefully I have absorbed a bit of his magic," he added. "It's a bit daunting, because his are big shoes to fill, but I'm really excited about doing it." He went on to say about his return: "I never thought that I would revisit it. I had such a happy time playing Troy from when I was 24 to when I was 31. It was a fantastic time in my career." ‌ The fresh stage production follows DCI Tom Barnaby and DS Gavin Troy as they investigate the puzzling demise of Emily Simpson, a cherished spinster from the village of Badger's Drift. According to its synopsis, the play promises "a night of murder and mystery, full of theatricality and intrigue, with the central partnership of Barnaby and Troy, a whole host of English eccentrics, and this real dark undercurrent of secrets and lies. " DS Gavin Troy wasn't directly replaced in Midsomer Murders; instead, his character gradually disappeared from the series. John Nettles handed over the investigative reins to Neil Dudgeon, who stepped into the role of DCI John Barnaby in 2011, accompanied by his new partner, DS Jamie Winter, portrayed by Nick Hendrix. Meanwhile, the cameras are rolling for the upcoming series of Midsomer Murders, which is set to grace our screens next year.

Parachute death 9 Sarah Barnes died in horrific, dramatic circumstances Credit: Channel 4 Viewers were left gobsmacked by Sarah Barnes' death in 2009 - which occurred in dramatic circumstances. Sarah (Loui Batley), along with her girlfriend Lydia (Lydia Kelly) and past flame Zoe (Zoe Carpenter), all went skydiving. But Lydia's jealousy took over, as she used a knife to sabotage one of the parachutes. Although she intended Zoe to use it, the three got mixed up leaving Lydia with no idea as to who had the faulty parachute. Rather than intervene, the three took to the skies - and Sarah ultimately plunged thousands of feet to her death. Unaware of this - and wanting to avoid any responsibility for the crime - Brendan got to work on dismembering Mick's corpse.
