Beyoncé 'Cowboy Carter' tour is master class in fashion, cultural commentary: Here's why
At SoFi Stadium on May 1, the 35-time Grammy winning singer brought high-fashion and cowboy couture to the stage. There was lots of western-glam with sparkly chaps, cowboy hats, boots and a piles of fringe. The megastar also used her wardrobe to send powerful messages.
And while the entire show consisted of noteworthy looks, there were some standout outfits worth highlighting.
In true Bey fashion, she brought even more looks to the stage for her second show. Most notably, Beyoncé wore a new outfit at the start of her song "Alliigator Tears." It featured a sparkly top, a black cowboy hat and knee-high cowboy boots.

Toward the end of the show, fans also noted a new outfit as she sang her single "16 Carriages" and other songs. The new look was an all-Black get up with massive American flag cuffs at the bottom of each pant leg.

Outside of the new looks, Beyoncé continued to make a statement with her wardrobe. During one interlude, Beyoncé plays a news snippet where news commenter Megyn Kelly says, "Country music's been around for a long, long time. It goes right to the heart of America, and most Americans in red states have been loving and enjoying it long before 'Queen Bey' decided to stick her big toe into the lane."

She intercuts this sound bite with various news clips along with videos of Black musicians from the past before a message that reads "despite noise, we sing." The interlude then goes into her 2022 song "America Has a Problem" and during this performance, Beyoncé, her 13-year old daughter Blue Ivy and the rest of the dancers wear white jumpsuits that have "America Has a Problem" written on them. Their outfits also appear to feature newspapers and lyrics to her other songs like "I'm that girl."
The fashion choice emphasizes a powerful message about America.
Another memorable look featured Beyoncé in denim shorts, thigh-high white boots, and a sparkly top. She paired the look that with a cap that read "bncntry." In other words, she's letting spectators and fans know she's "been country" rather than infiltrating a new space she hasn't already been a part of.

Beyoncé' lit up the stage with a LED gown as she sang "Daughter" both nights, and the dress has been one of the most striking looks yet. Created by designer Kunihiko Morinaga, who is behind the Japanese brand Anrealage, the standout gown features around 35,000 LED lights that change in sync with the song's progression.
For the dress, Morinaga worked with Mplusplus, a Japanese design firm led by Minoru Fujimoto known for integrating LEDs into textiles. The firm developed a wireless control system to change the lights as Beyoncé performed.

Beyoncé first kicked off her "Cowboy Carter" tour on April 28 in Los Angeles, the first of of 32 stadium shows. Fans from all over the world traveled to witness Beyoncé's first two Los Angeles shows, which were filled with family, politics, soaring vocals, incredible costumes and masterful dancing.
The nine-city tour will span the U.S. and Europe with the grand finale taking place in Las Vegas on July 26. She's set to make history with her scheduled tour dates, including by playing the most dates at SoFi Stadium of any artist.

Hard drives with Beyoncé's unreleased music stolen in Atlanta
Police are searching for a suspect accused of stealing two suitcases containing sensitive material related to Beyoncé's performances, including unreleased music and show plans, from a vehicle in Atlanta earlier this month, authorities said. A police incident report says that the owner of the suitcases claimed to be a choreographer for Beyoncé. According to a statement from Atlanta Police, officers responded to Krog Street on July 8 "regarding a report of a theft from a motor vehicle." The suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, remains missing, according to the statement. The police report says that the victims of the theft are Christopher Grant and Diandre Blue, a choreographer and dancer, respectively, for Beyoncé. Blue told police who arrived at the scene that the hard drives contained "watermarked music, some unreleased music, footage plans for the show and the past and future set list." According to the report filed by Officer R. Price and Officer K. Andino, "The laptop was pinging," and they had "zone 3 units to canvas the area so see if they could locate the property." Officers said that a "suspicious person stop" was conducted in the area. They also dusted "two very light" fingerprints and said that cameras in the area captured the incident. "Good Morning America" has reached out to a rep for Beyoncé for a comment. The singer is currently on her Cowboy Carter Tour and began her tour stop in Atlanta on July 10. She is slated to perform her final show in Atlanta tonight before her final tour stops in Las Vegas on the 25th and 26th.

Unreleased Beyoncé music stolen in Atlanta after car break in, police say
Unreleased music by Beyoncé was stolen from a vehicle in Atlanta last week, according to police. Five hard drives with "water marked music, some un-released music, footage plans for the show, and past and future set list," were taken from a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer that was being driven by Beyoncé's choreographer, Christopher Grant, last week, according to a police incident report. The car, which was being rented, was in a parking deck by the Krog Street Market, a popular spot near downtown Atlanta, the report released Monday said. Grant and Diandre Blue, one of Beyoncé's dancers, told police that when they came back to the car about an hour after initially parking it, the trunk window had been damaged and two suitcases had been stolen. Grant also said he was carrying some personal sensitive information for Beyoncé. Laptops and headphones belonging to Grant and Blue, along with other valuable items, including furs, bags and personal documents, were also stolen, according to the police report. Police said investigators with the Larceny from Auto Unit have subsequently secured an arrest warrant for a suspect, but no one has been arrested. The identity of the suspect has also not been released. Beyoncé is set to perform in Atlanta on Monday night, the fourth and final show in the city for her ongoing Cowboy Carter tour. Beyoncé's unreleased music, tour plans and other 'personal sensitive information' were reportedly stolen out of a car belonging to two members of her team. The shocking incident occurred on July 8 in Atlanta and came just two days before the 'Halo' singer kicked off the Georgia leg of her current Cowboy Carter tour, according to an Atlanta Police Department incident report obtained by The Post. Beyoncé's choreographer, Christopher Grant, and dancer, Diandre Blue, told officers that two suitcases had been stolen from a Jeep Wagoneer that they were renting for the singer's four-show stop at the city's Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
