The first week of the newly-expanded Club World Cup in the US has been and gone already.
In the first 32-team format of the competition, the winner will walk away with a whopping $125m (£91.89m), with $1bn (£735m) of prize money being distributed to the 32 participating clubs, according to FIFA.
Two teams from England - Chelsea and Manchester City - are competing, and they are joined by some of the biggest clubs in the world including Real Madrid and recent Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.
Elsewhere, Lionel Messi 's Inter Miami are involved and kickstarted the competition last weekend, while clubs from the likes of Asia, Africa and South America are also taking part.
A total of 12 stadiums from across the USA are hosting matches, and a number of superstar players have their wives and girlfriends in attendance, while others have not travelled to support their partners.
So... who are the WAGs of this summer's Club World Cup stars?

She said: 'Cole now is still the same Cole that I met when I was 17. Obviously, he's changed, he's grown up, and his life now is completely different, but he's still the same boy, he's still laid-back Cole. Cole will adapt to whatever situation he's in.'

Now playing under Xabi Alonso, Endrick is being cheered on by his wife Gabriely Miranda.

Inter Miami team-mate Luis Suarez followed Messi to Miami in January 2024 after a long stint in Spain, with his wife Sofia Balbi accompanying him.

Now, he has his sights set on claiming another trophy at the Club World Cup.
He has the support of his wife Claudia Rodriguez, with the couple having three children together.
Rodriguez's social media reflects her love for London, often jetting to various countries around the world when she has the time.
The couple have also opened up on the 'Married to the Game' documentary about the challenges they've faced raising their autistic child.
Cucurella and Rodriguez did not feature in the first series of the show, but were widely praised for opening up about their life and dealing with a family robbery in the second series.

It's a joke – Enzo Maresca unhappy at long delay in Chelsea-Benfica tie

Enzo Maresca labelled the decision to suspend Chelsea's Club World Cup last-16 tie with Benfica for two hours 'a joke' even as his side eventually ran out 4-1 winners. The tie took almost five hours to complete after the teams were forced inside, with the Blues 1-0 up with four minutes remaining thanks to Reece James' free-kick, due to 'the risk of lightning in the vicinity of Bank of America Stadium'. On the resumption, Angel Di Maria equalised with a controversial stoppage-time penalty to take the game to extra time, only for Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to seal Chelsea's win. Game started Saturday and ended Sunday 🤣 — Trevoh Chalobah (@TrevohChalobah) June 29, 2025 Maresca, in his press conference, said of the long delay: 'I think it's a joke, to be honest. 'It's not football, it's completely something new, I struggle to understand. 'I can understand if it's security reasons but if you suspend seven or eight games then it's probably not the right place to do the competition. 'It's not normal to suspend the game. In a World Cup, how many games are suspended? Zero probably. In Europe how many games get suspended? Zero. 'We've been here two weeks and they've already suspended six or seven games, there is some problems for me personally. Meanwhile, in the dressing room. — Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) June 28, 2025 'I'm talking as a manager because when you're two hours inside and you have to try to keep them (the players) in the game, they're speaking to their families outside for safety reasons, they're eating, they're playing, they're laughing, how can you keep them inside focused for two hours? It's a joke.' One of Maresca's players at least was able to make light of the delay, which saw the game finish at 1.40am UK time, with defender Trevoh Chalobah posting on social media: 'Game started Saturday and ended Sunday'. Players were pictured riding exercise bikes and kicking balls in the dressing room during the enforced break and Maresca told broadcaster DAZN: 'Especially when it's 85 minutes, five minutes to go, it's very difficult. 🚲⏳ — Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) June 28, 2025 'But we tried to keep them in the best way we could in that moment and, at the end, we are in the last eight teams here in this competition and we are very happy.' Gianluca Prestianni saw red for Bruno Lage's men in extra time for a second yellow card as Chelsea booked their place against Palmeiras in the quarter-finals.

'What's not to get excited about?' - your views on 'real deal' Nygren

We asked you for your views after Benjamin Nygren signed a five-year deal with what some of you said:Gordy: A good signing and hopefully just the start - we need cover all over the pitch. Centre back, right and left-back cover is essential and a goal-scoring centre forward, while holding onto to what we have, unless a massive offer comes in that will help buy other players. We need to show more ambition in the transfer market this season to be successful at home and in Nygren scored a hat-trick against Fenerbahce in Europe, and is obviously a very good What's not to get excited about? Another Scandinavian with a clear determination to advance his career and full of positivity. I've seen him play for Sweden and he has bags of energy and drive. Almost looks like he's a mini Daizen, but let's not burden the boy with too much The signing of Nygren could turn out to be a very shrewd piece of business. He appears to be a player on an upward path and with the guidance of Brendan Rodgers, we can hopefully continue his progression. If we can get two/three good seasons out of him then we could end up with a £30m+ asset. Either way it certainly looks like £1.5m well Nygren looks like the real deal. It's difficult to make one's mind up based on highlight reels, right enough. He is saying the right things in the media, regarding his winning mentality, his experience and what he thinks will be expected of him while wearing the hoops. I just hope he has the longevity to do it season after season, on a cold wet Wednesday night in the north east of Scotland!

Benfica boss singles out 'very strong' Chelsea star after Club World Cup defeat

Benfica head coach Bruno Lage singled out Pedro Neto for special praise following the side's Club World Cup defeat to Chelsea, pointing to the winger's constant threat in 'one-on-one' duels. The Blues appeared to be cruising towards the quarter-finals as Reece James fired a superb free-kick beyond Anatoliy Trubin to break the deadlock in the 64th minute, before play was suspended due to nearby lightning. But Angel Di Maria held his nerve from the penalty spot to turn the last-16 tie on its head deep into stoppage time, just moments after Benfica forward Gianluca Prestianni was sent off for a second bookable offence. Chelsea came out fighting in extra time at North Carolina's Bank of America Stadium, though, with Christopher Nkunku, Neto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall all finding the net to secure a 4-1 victory. Enzo Maresca's men will return to Philadelphia to take on Brazilian outfit Palmeiras for a place in the semi-finals next weekend. 'When you look at the whole game, a lot of things happened and it's hard to accept,' Benfica manager Lage told reporters at his post-match press conference. 'When we work at Benfica, we have to come to these competitions with great ambition. That's why our first goal was to get through the first round. 'After that, anything can happen and it was 50-50. We had a good chance of getting through.' Lage once again applauded Neto having named the Portugal international as one of Chelsea's key weapons in the build-up to Saturday's round of 16 contest. 'We have to understand that we are playing against a good team, in which Pedro Neto was very strong one-on-one,' he added. 'We played our game. Maybe in the first half we could have done better in terms of attack, but after that, over time, the team grew and the players on the field gave us a different energy.' Lage praised his players for the way they coped in 'difficult' conditions against the Europa Conference League winners. 'We had belief that we could take the game to extra-time but then, with everything that happened to us, and with the sending off, it was very difficult to play against a great team,' he continued. 'It was difficult to play in these conditions. More than 30 minutes with ten men, it was very difficult. 'But even still, I think we were the better team in the first 15 minutes of extra time. 'We had at least four good chances, four good transitions in which we could have scored a goal. But after 2-1, the game was over.' Facing the media shortly after the final whistle, an irate Maresca blasted the 'joke' decision to delay the action with his side defending a narrow lead in the closing stages of normal time. 'For 85 minutes we were in control of the game. We didn't concede anything; we created chances enough to win the game. And then after the break the game changed completely,' Maresca said. More Trending 'For me personally, it's not football. You cannot be inside for two hours. It is something completely new. 'I can understand that for security reasons, you are to suspend the game. But if you suspend six, seven games that means that probably is not the right place to do this competition.' The Italian went on: 'This is a fantastic competition. The Club World Cup is top and we are happy to be in the last eight. 'It's not normal to suspend a game. In a World Cup, how many games are suspended? Probably zero. In Europe, how many games? Zero.'
