Bipartisan event celebrates Jerusalem Day, honors 'the beating heart of the Jewish people'

The bipartisan celebration emphasized the importance of faith-based diplomacy in promoting both peace and security for the Jewish state.
The Congressional Israel Allies Caucus hosted its annual Jerusalem Day celebration on Wednesday on Capitol Hill, in celebration of the reunification of Jerusalem and ongoing strong US-Israel relations.
This year's event came not only as regional tensions remain high, with Iran-backed terror groups launching continued attacks on Israel, but also after two deadly attacks on events relating to Israel, the hostages and the Jewish community in the US.
The bipartisan celebration emphasized the importance of faith-based diplomacy in promoting both peace and security for the Jewish state, while also demonstrating the US's ongoing belief in Israel's right to self-defense.
'Jerusalem Day is a celebration of the eternal connection between the Jewish people and their capital,' said Josh Reinstein, President of the Israel Allies Foundation. 'As threats mount against Israel from all sides, events like these remind the world that Jerusalem will never again be divided. The support of faith-based leaders and legislators in the United States is critical, not just for Israel's security, but for the values we all share—freedom, faith, and democracy.'
Among the distinguished speakers at the event were Innovation, Science and Technology Minister, Gila Gamliel; Knesset Christian Allies Caucus Co-Chair MK Moshe Tur Paz, Reinstein, and over a dozen members of the Congressional Israel Allies Caucus.
Rep. Ronny-Jackson (R-TX) told the attending crowds: 'As Co-Chair of the Congressional Israel Allies Caucus, I'm proud to stand alongside President Trump in unwavering support for Israel—America's greatest ally. On this special day, and every day, I remain fully committed to doing everything in my power as a Member of Congress to ensure Israel has the resources it needs to defend itself.'
IAF US Director Jordanna McMillan added: 'For over a decade, the Congressional Israel Allies Caucus has commemorated Jerusalem Day on Capitol Hill, a powerful testament to the enduring US-Israel partnership and the vital role of faith-based support for Israel. This event has now inspired similar observances in legislatures worldwide. Our goal is to see greater international recognition of a united Jerusalem as the Israeli capital and encourage other nations to relocate their embassies there.'
Minister Gamliel concluded, 'Jerusalem is the beating heart of the Jewish people and the State of Israel. Its reunification is a historic milestone that reflects our unwavering bond to our ancestral homeland. I deeply appreciate the support of our American allies, whose faith-based solidarity strengthens Israel and the values we hold dear.'

DOJ Probing Alleged ‘Russiagate' Conspiracy Against Trump

The US Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation into claims that national security officials participated in a conspiracy in late 2016 and early 2017 to link President Donald Trump to Russia's election interference and undermine his legitimacy, according to a person familiar with the matter. Attorney General Pam Bondi directed prosecutors to use a grand jury to investigate claims made by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, said the person, who asked not to be named speaking about a confidential matter.

Hundreds attend 'Solidarity for Palestine' march in Keswick

Lord Campbell-Savours was among around 200 who gathered in Keswick on Sunday, August 3 for a 'solidarity for Palestine' rally. Protesters gathered in Keswick town centre on Sunday morning to protest against Israel's war against Gaza. Fiona Goldie of the Palestine Solidarity Group Carlisle and District was one of the speakers who urged the audience to write to their MP's to 'ensure they know that we want strong action not just harsh words'. Lord Campbell-Savours attended, representing his son Markus, who is the MP for Penrith and Solway. The protest came a few days after Markus called for an 'immediate recognition' of a Palestinian state and a full suspension of military and intelligence support to Israel. 'I can no longer remain silent as the harrowing images flood social media and television: maimed and starving civilians, parents mourning their dead children, communities clawing through rubble,' said Markus. ''It is difficult not to feel angry that the Prime Minister, the leader of my party, continues to equivocate on Palestinian statehood. This is not a bargaining chip in negotiations. This is not a trade deal. This is a genocide. 'Our attempts at constructive diplomacy have failed. We've not even managed to get food to the starving. 'I am calling for our government to act decisively. Broad sanctions — not symbolic gestures. A full suspension of military and intelligence support. A boycott of Israeli goods. An international coalition to control the flow of aid. And immediate recognition of Palestine as a sovereign state, as pledged in the Labour Party manifesto and promised to those who elected me.' Environmental campaigner, Jeff Thomson, who is one of Markus Campbell-Savours constituents, said: 'It is encouraging our MP has made a firm stance and bold statement in support of the people of Palestine who are experiencing untold suffering.' The UK will only refrain from doing so if Israel allows more aid into Gaza, stops annexing land in the West Bank, agrees to a ceasefire, and signs up to a long-term peace process over the next two month, the PM said. Israel insists its military operation in Gaza is justified as part of the war on terror in the wake of the October 7 massacre.
