One of this season's Survivor contestants lost more than just the chance at $1 million when they were eliminated from the competition.
David Kinne was eliminated from season 48 during the Wednesday, April 23 episode and he gave an update on something he'd shared earlier in the season — that his girlfriend would not be continuing their relationship if he didn't come home with the prize money.
Given his elimination, Kinne confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that his girlfriend was "out the door" just "a few weeks after she found out I didn't win" the season.
"People probably laughed at that whole thing, [but] it was unfortunately true," he said.

Not everything is looking down for Kinne, 39, though. He told EW that he's now dating someone new, who he called "the most incredible woman."
"She's phenomenal. I'm truly feeling blessed right now," he said.
In fact, in hindsight, he admitted, "I'm almost glad I didn't win a million dollars."
On the April 23 episode, Kinne was voted out at Tribal Council. He told EW that he felt "blindsided" by the news because of his alliances on the show, adding: "There are so many emotions going through that moment, and the worst part about it is I truly believe they got it wrong. And you can see I believe that in the edit. And so it was heartbreaking to me because I truly was doing everything I could to keep my alliance intact. I was the ride or die kind of guy. I was going to go to the end with them."
When Kinne's casting on this season of Survivor was announced, he celebrated the news in an Instagram post as he said his experience on the "hit show" was "nothing short of surreal."
"I CANNOT WAIT for everyone to see what this season brings!" he wrote.

He said in his introduction video that he's "always been an adrenaline junkie" and that his goal was to win "more challenges" than any previous show contestant had.
"I know a lot of people say this, but I truly think I have it all. I mean, I've got the social skills, I have the charm ... and I obviously have the physical prowess, the mental capacity, to get me through," he said. "I don't really have an Achilles heel."

Nancy Meyers reacts to ‘The Holiday' series at Apple TV+: ‘News to me'

'The Holiday' without Nancy Meyers? Something's gotta give. After it was revealed that Apple TV+ is developing a limited series based on her 2006 Christmas romcom, Meyers, 75, shared that she was unaware of the upcoming project. 'News to me,' she wrote on her Instagram story over an article about the series from the Hollywood Reporter. 'Imagine my surprise when I opened Instagram and this was the first post I saw.' Nancy Meyers/Instagram Meyers wrote and directed the original film, which follows Iris (Kate Winslet), a London journalist who switches houses with Amanda (Cameron Diaz), a movie editor in Los Angeles, for a change of pace. Of course, along the way, the women each find the perfect romantic pick-me-up in Jack Black and Jude Law, respectively. Getty Images for TCM Deadline first reported that Meyers was not involved in the adaptation and that the network was casting well-known actresses to play the leading ladies. According to Entertainment Weekly, Krissie Ducker is set to write and executive produce the new series alongside Rob Delaney as a consultant. In 2022, Meyers revealed she had no plans to revisit the movie. 'Look who I'm having lunch with today,' the Oscar-nominated filmmaker began. 'Congratulations on your so deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. That's amazing.' 'Thanks, Nancy,' Law responded. 'It's so lovely to see you.' 'It's so great to see you,' Meyers continued. Ex-NBA All-Star Calls Out Jeff Teague For "Moonwalking" On His LeBron James Steroid Use Accusation

Ex-NBA All-Star Calls Out Jeff Teague For "Moonwalking" On His LeBron James Steroid Use Accusation originally appeared on Fadeaway World. Going into year 23, LeBron James has played at the pinnacle of basketball for over two decades. He has exceeded all expectations in terms of longevity and efficiency at this age. Just recently, Jeff Teague, a former NBA player, accused him of using steroids during his time with the Miami Heat from 2010 to 2014. Just hours after this accusation, Teague retracted his statement on Instagram, saying he was joking when he said that. That did not sit well with Gilbert Arenas, the former NBA All-Star, who went on social media to call him out for retracting his words as if he was "moonwalking." 'Ah man! They got you, Jeff, but look, congratulations, I heard the Colts just signed you to cornerback, they said they loved the way you backpedalled out of that statement,' said Arenas as he laughed at Teague's situation. 'They said you were out here moonwalking, man. Michael Jackson on them, man. Damn, Jeff, you can't say that about the King, man. I know your page started flickering, didn't it? Page started flickering, algorithm started messing up? Club 520 about to be Club 260 cause you're a** would've been gone.' 'Ay, Jeff! You better stop it because there are a few people you can't talk about: LeBron James, Bronny James, and that's it. Nobody else got that kind of power, you see, your daddy called, and they got to him. Boy, you better buy your LeBron jersey and sit back and be Team LeBron like the rest of us.' LeBron James became the only player last season to not miss a single attempt in 50+ dunk attempts across all teams, going 71 of 71. He averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds in 70 games played in the regular season last year. James not only made the All-NBA second team last season, but he also did it with impeccable efficiency. Playing at this level, at his age, also makes him vulnerable to baseless accusations that he may be using performance-enhancing drugs in one way or another. He averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds in 70 games played in the regular season last year. Seeing that LeBron James' legal team has been active recently, Teague may have anticipated some legal action against himself, too, for making such a statement about James without concrete proof. They never played on the same team, and Teague's podcast has recently gained a massive following, which could have prompted the Lakers' superstar to take legal action against him for slandering him in front of a massive audience. Therefore, it seems that Teague took the safe way out and claimed he was joking. Sources have previously also claimed that it is an unsaid and secret belief among players in the league that James uses PEDs. The lack of any concrete proof, instead of loads of circumstantial evidence like the time taken in his return from injury or performance at this age, is probably the reason why players have not made public statements to this effect. Now, Teague did that and immediately played it off as a joke. Maybe we just have to accept that LeBron James is a story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Jul 25, 2025, where it first appeared.

Rottweiler Finds Musical Instrument, Gets Stuck in the Most Unexpected Way

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. In a vet clinic in New South Wales, Australia, one dog surprised staff when she arrived in "a bit of a pickle." Koda, a 10-month-old rottweiler, had surprised her mom when she returned home from her first Tinder date and found her pup at the door. The surprise? A white circular object was lodged firmly in her mouth. The pup had managed to get hold of a Zendrum—a hand-held percussion instrument—and accidentally lodged it in her mouth. Koda's owner rushed her to the vet where veterinarian and clinic owner Dr. Bruce Krumm quickly stepped in. "We sedated Koda first, then intubated her as a precaution in case general anesthesia was required. Fortunately, Dr. Krumm was able to remove the Zendrum without needing to fully anaesthetise her," Tiana McLaren, practice manager at Kanwal Veterinary Hospital, told Newsweek. Pictures of Koda the dog with the Zendrum instrument in her mouth. Pictures of Koda the dog with the Zendrum instrument in her mouth. @kanwalvet/Instagram "Cases like this are rare. While we often see foreign-body ingestion, it's not every day something gets stuck quite like this," McLaren said. Unexpectedly consumed items are no surprise in the pet world. In 2023, pet medical insurance company Trupanion reported that it handled 24,000 foreign-body ingestion claims in pets. The average claim was $878, while the highest claim was $27,403. The clinic shared a video of the moment on Instagram where it has been viewed more than 540,000 times. In the comments, people shared their reactions. "Sooo he bit more than he could chew," joked one viewer, while another said: "They just wanted to be a drummer." "Miss Koda is still cute," wrote a third commenter. "Even with a Zen drum stuck to her snoot." Not all feedback was friendly, though. Some social-media users suggested the procedure must have cost the owner thousands and accused veterinarians of profiteering. But McLaren said: "Just to put things into perspective—the total cost of the procedure was $259. It's not about a money grab. It's about caring for animals." Koda is now doing just fine, free from the musical drum, and her mom is still seeing the man from the first date who got to see it all. This isn't the first time an unusual vet story has captured viral attention. Earlier this year, an owner panicked when her dog started acting strangely, only to discover that the pup had accidentally eaten a THC-infused edible. Another dog owner found herself left with a $600 vet bill, but the diagnosis was far from expected. After a trip to the veterinarian, they found out that the dog was simply struggling with gas.
