Nintendo Switch 2 restocks — live updates and retailers to check today
It's been more than a month since Nintendo Switch 2 hit store shelves, but the hybrid console remains frustratingly tricky to track down. Switch 2 restocks have been limited, and when a retailer does have increased availability, the console typically sells out in minutes.
The good news is that retailers are working behind the scenes to replenish inventory, and we've seen several restocks from the likes of Walmart, Target and Best Buy. While some of these have been in-store, we've also seen several online drops over the past few weeks.
Conversely, for Nintendo fans in the U.K., getting hold of a Switch 2 has been comparatively easy. Nintendo Switch 2 restocks in the region have been more frequent and have often lasted days rather than minutes or hours. If you're in the U.K. and want a Switch 2, you likely won't have to wait very long to get the chance to secure Nintendo's new hybrid console.
As a reminder, Nintendo Switch 2 launched on June 5, and costs $449 / £395 standalone or $499 / £429 bundled with Mario Kart World. Unscrupulous scalpers are hoping impatient players will opt to spend more than the standard retail price, but don't give in and cough up more than is fair on a reseller marketplace. Switch 2 restocks are just around the corner.
I've been tracking Switch 2 restocks since launch, and have more than five years of experience covering restock for in-demand gaming products. In this live blog, I'm bringing you the latest Switch 2 restock updates, and also providing all the retailer links you'll need.
Walmart last restocked the Nintendo Switch 2 on Wednesday, June 25. The restock event was initially exclusive to Walmart Plus members, starting at 9 p.m. ET, before opening up to everyone at 10 p.m. ET. Stock has since run out.Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Walmart
Best Buy last restocked the Switch 2 online on June 11. The electronics retailer has been another regular source of Switch 2 stock, and also held an in-store restock this week on Tuesday, July 1. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Best Buy
Target last restocked the Switch 2 on Friday, June 6. This could mean the next drop is a little ways off as the retailer may need some time to build up its inventory again. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Target
GameStop is currently sold out of Switch 2 consoles. However, as a specialist video game retailer, we're expecting more stock to arrive shortly, so watch this space. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ GameStop
After being absent from the Switch 2 pre-order phase, Amazon U.S. launched a Nintendo Switch 2 listing page last week. But in a very strange move, it's now taken it down again, so at present there are no signs of Switch 2 stock at Amazon U.S. Over in the U.K., the mega retailer has been stocking Switch 2 for weeks and restocked often.
My Nintendo Store is using an invite system to allocate its available Switch 2 stock. You will need to meet specific criteria, including having a Nintendo Switch Online account and then be selected and sent an invite to order the console. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Nintendo Store
Antonline's Switch 2 listings have a "coming soon" message. This could be a sign that the tech retailer is planning to restock the console in the near future, though that message has been there quite a while now, so it's a little puzzling. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Antonline
Newegg's Nintendo Switch 2 pages are live, but there's currently no stock. Newegg may restock the console soon, but nothing is confirmed yet, so this is another one to watch closely for now. Mario Kart Bundle: $499 @ Newegg
Sam's Club has a listing page for the Nintendo Switch 2, which currently advises the console is "coming soon." This could be an indication that the retailer is planning to take Switch 2 orders in the near future, so be sure to watch this space.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller is practically guaranteed to be the most in-demand Switch 2 accessory, and it packs a suitable upgrade over its predecessor adding a headphone jack, the new "C" button, and customizable back buttons. Additional retailers: Best Buy | GameStop
Need an extra set of Joy-Con 2 controllers for multiplayer, or just because it's always nice to have a spare? You can pick up an additional set of Joy-Con 2 at various retailers for $94. Additional retailers: Best Buy | GameStop
One of Switch 2's new features is GameChat, and to get the most out of this new addition you'll need a Nintendo Switch 2 Camera to video chat with your friends online. Additional retailers: Best Buy | GameStop
The official Nintendo Switch 2 Camera is pretty dull, but this licensed third-party one from Hori is anything but. It's modeled after the iconic Piranha Planet from the Super Mario series and offers all the same features, plus you can close the Piranha's head to give yourself some privacy as needed. Huge caveat: it's resolution maxes out at 480p, whereas the Nintendo camera is 1080p.Additional retailers: Best Buy
You don't need the Switch Joy-Con 2 Wheel to enjoy games like Mario Kart World, but it'll sure make the experience much more fun. You can get a set of two for just $24. Additional retailers: Best Buy | GameStop
It's not the most exciting Switch 2 accessory, but should you need a spare AC adapter for your Switch to you can get one for $34. It connects directly to the Switch 2 Switch 2 dock.Additional retailers: Best Buy | GameStop
Take your Switch 2 on the road with the official Switch 2 All-In-One Carrying Case. It's big enough so you can carry the Switch 2, Nintendo Switch 2 dock, Joy-Con 2 controllers, various cables, and up to six game cards.Additional retailers: Best Buy | GameStop
The Switch 2 comes with an increased storage capacity of up to 2TB. However, the Switch 2 is only compatible with microSD Express cards, which means you'll need new storage cards for your console. Additional retailers: Best Buy | GameStop
Mario Kart World will launch on the same day as the Switch 2. This new entry will allow up to 24 drivers to take part in each race, and you'll be able to drive anywhere on the track. Nintendo also said gamers can expect new power-ups.Additional retailers: Best Buy | GameStop| Walmart
Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2 is the definitive way to enjoy CDPR's critically acclaimed first-person open-world RPG on the go. You play a mercenary named V, completing missions in the dark city of the future, Night City, though your main aim is surviving the chaos that surrounds you. This Ultimate Edition also includes the essential Phantom Liberty DLC expansion, which opens up a new area of the map, the ruthless Dogtown. Additional retailers: Best Buy | GameStop
Donkey Kong Bananza will launch on July 17 and allow DK to smash his way through (and down into) the surrounding terrain. He can punch his way through mountains or head underground in search of collectibles. It's hands-down one of the Switch 2's biggest titles. Additional retailers: Best Buy | GameStop| Walmart
Street Fighter 6 1-2 Fighters Edition features 26 characters and 20 stages. You'll fight your way to the top with all-new content and game modes exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2, like Local Wireless One-on-One and Avatar Matches.Additional retailers: GameStop | Walmart
An enhanced edition of Kirby and the Forgotten Land will make its way to the Switch 2. It'll feature everything we loved about the original as well as some improvements like better graphical fidelity, HDR support, and frame rate improvements. The ever-adorable Kirby gets a bump from 30fps to 60fps and you can enjoy 1080p gameplay in handheld mode or 1440p when docked.Additional retailers: GameStop | Walmart
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is being ported over to the Switch 2. It promises improved visuals and performance. It also brings support for Zelda Notes, a game-specific service found in the Nintendo Switch app that's exclusive to the Switch 2. It brings voice-assisted navigation, voice memories, and item sharing. Additional retailers: GameStop| Walmart
The original Switch's definitive launch game has returned for the Switch 2, and now it's been enhanced for Nintendo's new hardware. It's the masterpiece you (probably) know, but it looks and runs better than ever. If you've never played Breath of the Wild, there really isn't a better time to jump into Hyrule than via this Switch 2 Edition.Additional retailers: Best Buy
Hitman World of Assassination Signature Edition brings the complete IO Interactive trilogy to Nintendo Switch 2. In this action-stealth game, you play the world's most lethal killer, Agent 47, as they travel the globe eliminating high-value targets in a multitude of creative ways. Each mission is highly replayable, and this Signature Edition also comes with a wealth of extra content.
I'm a Senior Entertainment Editor at Tom's Guide with more than five years of experience tracking restocks for loads of in-demand gaming items. Walmart Deals 2025 are live with a bunch of anti-Prime Day sales to shop now
Amazon Prime Day is usually met with competing sales from other retailers, and this year is no different. Walmart's summer sale is back this year, competing with Prime Day and running for an extra two days. You can shop the sale at Walmart from July 8 through July 13, snagging discounts on all sorts of things including tech. While Engadget covers all of the best Prime Day deals we can find, we also recognize that not everyone has a Prime membership — and many simply do not want to shop at Amazon. If you fall into either of those camps, you will be able to find some of the best Prime Day deals matched at Walmart. Most of these deals are available to everyone, too — no Walmart Plus membership required as of July 8. Here, we've collected the best Walmart Deals savings we could find, and we'll continue to update this post throughout the event as we discover new discounts. Also, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention the Nintendo Switch 2. Not because it's discounted at Walmart (that's too good to be true, unfortunately), but Walmart+ members get exclusive access to a new drop of Switch 2 consoles for purchase at 7pm ET on July 7. Apple MacBook Air (13-inch, M1) for $599 ($50 off): The M1 Air has been long gone from Apple's own site, but it's still a more than capable laptop for anyone looking for a solid, all-purpose machine. We still recommend springing for an M3 or M4 machine instead, but if you're on a budget, this deal will be hard to beat. Roku Express HD streaming device for $17 ($12 off): If you're simply looking for an affordable streamer to upgrade an aging TV, the Roku Express HD could fit the bill. It plays HD-quality content and gives you access to every major streaming platform including HBO Max, Disney+, Prime Video and others. It'll tuck away behind your set nicely and it supports headphone mode, which lets you connect headphones to the Roku mobile app for private listening and viewing from your TV. Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones for $298 ($101 off): While the XM6 headphones are the latest and greatest, they only make small changes to the already stellar XM5. These were our top pick for the best wireless headphones for a long time before the XM6 launched earlier this year, and we still like them for their excellent sound quality, strong ANC, multi-device connectivity and good battery life. Google TV Streamer 4K for $84 ($16 off): Our top favorite streaming device, the Google TV Streamer 4K is basically a souped-up Chromecast with 4K content support, an easy to use interface and a great remote control. Hisense 75-inch U6H ULED 4K smart TV for $448 (36 percent off): This Quantum Dot TV can reach 600 nits at peak brightness across its 48 local dimming zones. It supports Dolby Vision and Atmos, HDMI 2.1 inputs for a better gaming experience and it has the Google Assistant built in for voice control. Samsung 32-inch Smart Monitor M5 for $199 ($100 off): Not only will this be a good monitor for your home office setup, but it also acts as a full smart TV, too. Its interface gives you access to platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube and others, and it also comes with a SmartThings IoT hub built in so you can connect and control things like smart lights directly from the monitor. Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 for $129 (47 percent off): While it's an older model, we generally like Samsung Galaxy Watches and they're arguably the best smartwatches for Samsung phone users. The Galaxy Watch 6 has good all-day activity tracking and sleep monitoring, plus heart rate tracking, personalized health insights and more. Razer Kraken Hello Kitty & Friends Bluetooth headset for $47 (47 percent off): Razer makes excellent gaming accessories and this Hello Kitty & Friends version of the popular Kraken headset might be just what you were looking for to add more personality into your Twitch stream outfits. Aside from the cute design, it supports Bluetooth 5.0, comes with 40mm drivers and sports a beamforming microphone. MSI Thin A15 gaming laptop (15.6-inch, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) for $649 (37 percent off): Along with a Ryzen processor, this MSI gaming laptop sports a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU and a 144Hz screen, and it comes in at just about 4 pounds in weight. PlayStation 5 Slim Astro Bot bundle for $453 ($106 off): This version of the console has a disc drive and comes with 1TB of storage, plus the ever-popular Astro Bot game.

AI can help e-commerce customers make sustainable choices
E-commerce has become a powerful driver of global economic growth. In the wake of the pandemic, global online sales surged to an estimated $5.8 trillion USD in 2023—more than one-fifth of the total value of global financial services in 2023. This growth has been fueled by intense competition, pushing companies to race to meet rising customer expectations for variety and speed. Customers expect broad product selection and immediate convenience. As Queen frontman Freddie Mercury put it, 'I want it all, and I want it now'—a sentiment that perfectly captures today's consumer mindset. However, demand for immediacy and abundance carries an environmental cost: Expanded product offering and accelerated delivery windows drive up carbon emissions and packaging waste. One way to solve this problem is to enlist the help of artificial intelligence. AI enables businesses to collect data, optimize operations, streamline packaging, and consolidate delivery routes allowing e-commerce companies such as Amazon and Walmart to offer more responsible retail activity that is aligned with saving our planet. The wider the product assortment, the more complex operations and fulfilment become. Categories such as perishable food or hazardous products require tailored shipping strategies. Weight and fragility differences add countless shipping variables. Conveniences like one-day shipping come at a cost to our planet. Consumer pressure has tightened delivery windows from 48 to 24 hours, down to same day and even within the hour. While this offers consumers instant gratification and speed, it also leads to inefficient routing and oversized packaging bloated with excess materials and rising carbon emissions. AI offers a better path to produce fulfillment The use of AI in combination with data repositories, analytics, and reasoning tools provides an unparalleled technology for managing the multi-disciplinary complexity of daily operations in the warehouse. AI is able to analyze and react to the challenges across critical activities, including sustainable food production, material innovation, waste reduction, warehouse automation, smart-grid management, and transportation optimization. Solutions like computer vision that can identify the ripeness of a berry or measure the void in a package prove that this technology can dramatically change what is possible in e-commerce fulfillment, as they open up a world of new applications for automation because they can sense and react to the physical world. AI is poised to become a powerful driver of sustainability in e-commerce by showing consumers the environmental impact of fulfillment. It can engage consumers directly by offering them informed choices and helping them understand the consequences of their decisions. Just as consumers can discover new products through personalized recommendations, they will grow comfortable making informed decisions about the environmental impact of e-commerce fulfillment. Most e-commerce companies already have the needed data to understand fulfillment's environmental toll. What is missing is how to take action on that data. With AI, concrete steps can be taken such as tracking carbon footprints, optimizing delivery routes, and using eco-friendly packaging. Chatbots can guide consumers toward options like 'wait-and-save' which bundles multiple shipments to reduce emissions. Smart packaging can reduce materials waste and freight costs. However, even when offered these choices, consumers might not prioritize sustainability over convenience. Consumers tend to pick convenience over sustainability According to psychologists Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky, we are wired for instant gratification and we tend to focus on the good parts of buying 'eco-friendly' products while often ignoring the environmental damage caused by having them delivered quickly. We also fall for the 'sunk cost' fallacy. We believe if we paid for a premium subscription, we must take advantage of fast delivery to 'get our money's worth.' While consumers have consistently shown they prefer sustainability and a desire to support brands that they view as ecologically responsible, a recent McKinsey study shows that other factors may be more important. The challenge for e-commerce is to align sustainability with shopping convenience and cost savings because people won't pay more or be inconvenienced just to buy green. Remember what Freddie Mercury said. AI solutions are already impacting the complex sciences behind e-commerce fulfilment by identifying packing boxes that are too big for the item being shipped and by assisting packers to identity the optimal packing material to use to ship a product. By incorporating AI, e-commerce can give consumers greater opportunities to act in favor of sustainability without giving up convenience or cost savings. AI can educate and engage consumers, giving them the chance to optimize, engage and conserve when buying online.
