Jamie Foxx 'flipped' when he read wild rumours about his health scare
The 57-year-old Hollywood actor fell ill in Atlanta, Georgia in 2023 while he was in town filming his Netflix movie 'Back in Action' and it was later revealed he'd suffered a stroke which left him in a coma for almost three weeks, but at the time his family kept details of his health battle secret - putting his illness down to a "medical complication" - and it led to fervent online speculation about what happened to him.
Jamie has now revealed he read some of the rumours while he was in hospital and one story in particular freaked him out. Speaking at The Hollywood Reporter's Stand-Up Comedy Roundtable event, Jamie explained: "I was doing so many jokes in the hospital. That's the only way I could get through it.
"I'm a comic, so even when I was heavily sedated, and they gave me OxyContin, Dilantin and morphine at the same time … it was: 'This is for your pain, and this is so you don't remember it' ...
"I snuck in my phone because I didn't know what the outside world was saying and I couldn't get my mind around the fact that I had a stroke. I'm in f****** perfect shape ...
"[I saw rumours like] 'Puffy tried to kill me'. No, Puffy didn't try to kill me."
Jamie went on to add he saw another rumour suggesting he was "a clone" and "that made me flip."
He said: "I'm sitting in the hospital bed, like, 'These ... m************ are trying to clone me'. And then I saw me walk into my room, but I'm white, so I see the white me. The next morning, I said: 'I know what's up, you're trying to clone me and make me white so I'll sell better overseas'."
The actor added that his psychiatrist asked if he was "all right" and Jamie asked him: "Am I all right or am I all white? I saw you trying to get the white m************ Jamie Foxx and it ain't going to happen."
The psychiatrist then suggested lowering the dosage of his medication.
When another participant at the round table event asked about reading the conspiracy theories, Jamie added that he was "was on another planet".
Jamie previously opened up about his health scare during his Netflix special 'Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was ... ' revealing his symptoms started with a headache and he was driven to hospital by his sister where doctors told he needed surgery to save his life.
Jamie said: "Your life doesn't flash before your face. It was kind of oddly peaceful ... I saw the tunnel. I didn't see the light. I was in that tunnel, though."

Seth Rogen considers on-screen chemistry to be a "mysterious thing". The 43-year-old actor has developed a very successful working partnership with Rose Byrne over the years, but Seth struggles to explain why some actors form such productive partnerships. Seth - who stars alongside Rose in Platonic, the TV comedy series - told The Hollywood Reporter: "In film chemistry is a mysterious thing; you never know who you're going to have good chemistry with. "There's people who are great friends in real life that have terrible chemistry on screen. I've had great chemistry with people I don't particularly like that much, and so I'm very lucky in this situation where I have chemistry with someone who I actually like. So I think that's why we keep working together over and over again." Seth and his writing partner, Evan Goldberg, now have their own production company, and the comedy star previously reflected on his changing status in Hollywood. Speaking to Sharp magazine, Seth explained: "There was a meeting with an executive who was giving us notes when we were young who said, 'I got into this because I love movies and now it's my job to ruin them.' "That one sentence really resonated heavily with us. Most importantly, we started to view it as being very comedic, like, it's a very funny dynamic if you love movies and the people associated with them. "A lot of these people who work at studios just want to be liked by the filmmakers and the actors and the writers, and they just want to feel as though they're part of the creative side of things. But at the same time, they're constantly having to do things for their own self-preservation." Seth has actually witnessed a "huge dynamic shift" during his time in Hollywood. He said: "I'm so used to being 20 years younger than the people that I'm reporting to that it only reaffirms this subservient dynamic. And I think now that I'm older, you start to view it much more of like, 'These are people I work with and together we have to make a good thing.' And they want it to be good, but they also don't want to get fired."

The Block is back — and this time, the show's playing nice
Is this the nicest (and possibly gayest?) Block yet? If you peeped the first ep of Nine's long-running reality series, you'd have seen this year's crop of hopefuls riding atop some gloriously decorated Pride floats down the main drag of regional Daylesford — a lovely way to kick things off. And so nice that we started this season with a celebration of love and unity as we were introduced to this year's hopefuls, which include lesbian couple Han and Can, along with Robby and his gay bestie, Mat. It felt a far cry from last year's festival of negativity, rumoured adultery and downright mean-girl behaviour (let's never speak of the Phillip Island series again), and this year's contestants look a lovely bunch — particularly WA cop couple Britt and Taz, who I already know I'd let pop me in the back of a paddy wagon. Producers look like they've gone out of their way to make sure this year's Block experience is a positive one for contestants — and viewers. The work site is now shut up every night, with contestants forbidden from toiling away after hours, so no more all-nighters! They're also all staying together in a communal campsite (complete with deluxe caravans) — Kumbaya, anyone? Best of all, they've all been given the building schedule ahead of time, so no nasty budget surprises. That's enough to put a smile on anyone's face, especially WorkSafe and Nine's HR department, who surely weren't looking for a repeat of last year's shenanigans. The Yogurt Shop Murders is coming to Max. Credit: Supplied I am starting to seriously worry about my other half: his streaming algorithms are basically end-to-end true-crime docos. Yikes! Now he can add this excellent four-parter to the watch list. It's all about the murder of four girls at a frozen yoghurt shop in Austin, Texas, back in 1991. Though two people did time for the crime, questions surround the confessions they gave. This is a fascinating look at police investigations, crime reporting and the concept of 'false memory'. But it's the families' stories that make this most impactful — and a devastating watch. Must-see. The Twelve: Cape Rock Killer is headed to Foxtel and Binge. This has a stacked cast and great premise. The second season of Wednesday is coming to Netflix.
