Democratic Front condemns Israeli arrest of Journalist Lahham

Gaza - Saba: The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) condemned the Israeli occupation army's arrest of Dr. Nasser al-Laham, editor-in-chief of the Ma'an Media Network and director of the Al-Mayadeen Channel office in Palestine, after raiding his home at dawn today in Bethlehem. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the DFLP said, "The enemy's attack on the contents of the house and the confiscation of his computers and personal belongings is a shameful act aimed at obscuring the truth and silencing the voices that express the suffering of our people, especially in light of the war of extermination in Gaza." The DFLP stressed that arrests and intimidation will not deter Palestinian journalists from continuing their role in exposing the crimes of the Nazi enemy. It added, "Media coverage will continue, no matter how great the sacrifices in the face of the enemy's crimes and its open war against the Palestinian people." It called on international and human rights organizations to pressure the enemy to release all fellow journalists detained in Israeli prisons, who are being subjected to the most horrific forms of torture. I salute the great media figure Dr. Nasser Al-Lahham, and all the knights of words and images who continue to paint an honorable picture of our people's struggles and legitimate resistance in the face of international silence. Palestinian journalist Lahham detention prolonged

Ramallah - Saba: The Palestinian Commission of Prisoners' Affairs stated, according to its lawyer, that the Israeli occupation authorities decided to extend the detention of prisoner journalist Nasser al-Lahham and transfer him to the Ofer Military Court until next Thursday. Israeli forces arrested al-Lahham at dawn today after raiding his home in the town of Doha in the Bethlehem Governorate and completely destroying its contents, according to the Palestinian News Agency. The number of journalists held in administrative detention in Israeli prisons, under the pretext of a "secret file," is (22), out of (55) in Israeli prisons, including (49) who have been detained since the beginning of the genocide. The occupation continues to target journalists through what it calls detention on the grounds of "incitement" on social media. This form of detention has become a tool to suppress freedom of opinion and expression, and has become another facet of the crime of administrative detention. The majority of those arrested on the grounds of "incitement," against whom the occupation was unable to present an indictment, were later transferred to Administrative detention. Journalists detained in enemy prisons and camps face all the same crimes as prisoners, including systematic torture, severe beatings, starvation, and medical neglect, in addition to the ongoing humiliation and abuse they are subjected to. This is in addition to the ongoing policies of theft and deprivation against them, and their detention in harsh and degrading detention conditions. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print
