Uefa rules state no owner or co-owner can have a controlling interest in more than one club competing in the same European competition during the same season. Palace dispute that Textor did not have sufficient enough control.
As it stands, Palace will be replaced in the Europa League by
Nottingham Forest
, who finished seventh last term.
Forest will be £3.9million better off as a result of the decision.

In a statement, Uefa said its Club Financial Control Body confirmed the decision by French financial chiefs had cleared Lyon's path to take up their place in the Europa League.

Shels bounce back with victory at the Showgrounds
Shelbourne extended their unbeaten SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division run to five games with a 2-0 win over Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds, bouncing back from a disappointing European performance mid-week. Ali Coote and Sean Boyd were the goalscorers as Joey O'Brien's side moved to within three points of Drogheda United in fourth. A bad night for Sligo was made worse with six minutes to go when goalkeeper Sam Sargeant was sent off as he was judged to have handled the ball outside the box by referee Rob Harvey, although replays suggest it may have been on the line. Unbeaten in their last five league games, the Bit O'Red were one of the league's form sides coming into this tie. A win against the 2024 Premier Division champions would have brought Russell's men level on points with Galway United who were beaten on Friday by the league's bottom side Cork City. Russell lost both Jake Doyle-Hayes and Francely Lomboto this week, with both players departing the club, while Ciaron Harkin joined from Derry City and was named on the bench for this game. Shels, who had a gruelling trip home from Kazakhstan mid-week where they were in European action, named Milan Mbeng after the French man signed from Cork City. Cian Kavanagh's miss on ten minutes was the talking point in an otherwise uneventful first-half, with neither side bringing the entertainment that may have been expected. The former St Patrick's Athletic striker just needed a slight touch to divert the ball past Speel in the Shels goals after Will Fitzgerald's free-kick was knocked on in the direction of Kavanagh in front of goal. That was as close as either side would come to opening the scoring in the first-half, but Shels found the net two minutes into the second-half. Coote got a hold of possession in the middle, and pushed his way past a couple of Sligo players before driving into the top corner with Sam Sargeant well beaten in the Sligo goals. Paddy McClean almost had Sligo back on level terms but the Derry man couldn't keep his header down from Owen Elding's cross as Sligo battled hard to find an equaliser. John Russell responded to his side's inability to break Shels down by switching up their approach, in truth it was game over on 77 minutes when Boyd added a second for Shels. As the home side failed to clear the ball from their defence, John Martin picked out the free Boyd in front of goal, and all he needed to do was poke it in past Sargeant for 2-0. There was further controversy, though, as the home side were reduced to ten when referee Rob Harvey gave Sargeant a straight red card for handling the ball outside the box, but replays show that Sargeant looked to be on the line as he handled the ball. That result leaves Sligo in ninth place, three points off Galway in eighth, while Shels are just three points off Drogheda United who occupy fourth spot. Home hero Ferrand-Prevot in epic climb to Tour de France lead
FRENCH RIDER Pauline Ferrand-Prevot climbed to a magnificent solo triumph at the women's Tour de France on Saturday to take over the lead of the race with one stage remaining. Olympic mountain bike champion Ferrand-Prevot of Visma, who joined the road race scene last year, attacked from 10km out with huge crowds of home supporters on the mountainside cheering her along. Visma rider Prevot-Ferrand now leads the overall standings by a comfortable two minutes and 37 seconds from Australia's Sarah Gigante, albeit with a last daunting mountain stage on Sunday to seal the deal. Advertisement Meanwhile, Lara Gillespie was 64th, Mia Griffin came 113th and Fiona Mangan finished 125th. In the general rankings, Gillespie is 94th, Griffin is 100th and Mangan sits in 114th place. 'I just tried to go as fast as possible. If I came back to road cycling it was in an effort to win this race so I made the right choice,' said the 33-year-old. 'I wanted to have as big a gap as possible, it's not over yet but I'm very happy with what we did today.' 'I need a little bit of change' - Son announces Spurs departure
TOTTENHAM CAPTAIN SON Heung-min has revealed he will leave the club this summer. Son has spent the last decade at Spurs and achieved his goal of silverware in May when he helped the Premier League team to Europa League success with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United. It ended a 17-year trophy drought for the club and South Korea captain Son explained his decision to target a 'fresh challenge' during a press conference in his home country ahead of Tottenham's pre-season friendly with Newcastle on Sunday. After Spurs arrived in Seoul on Friday, Son – following a remarkable 454 appearances and 173 goals for the north London club – confirmed his desire to depart this summer, with MLS outfit Los Angeles FC leading the race for his signature, the PA news agency understands.
