Scottish Love Island star Laura Anderson has opened up revealing she is struggling with her 22 month old daughter Bonnie.
The radio star uploaded an honest and heartfelt update on social media saying this has been her "hardest week of parenthood so far", reports The Record.
She admitted she's trying to find her feet as a mother to a nearly two year old in today's society, comparing her parenting skills to her parents in the 80s and 90s as she struggles with 'gentle parenting.'
Laura took to Instagram sharing a series of snaps and videos of her week, including a trip to the beach with Bonnie and her mum and snaps of Bonnie enjoying a day at the circus with her boyfriend, footballer Clarke Robertson.
The 36-year-old opened up in the caption, as she wrote: "These may be images of love, laughter and core memories being made recently but the truth behind the smiles is - I'm struggling."
"This has been the hardest week of parenthood so far for me. Bonnie is coming up for 22 months and a lot has changed and keeps changing. I don't know who my daughter is some days, I don't recognise her which has led to my dip in confidence communicating and or disciplining my own child (especially in public)," she admitted.
She added: "I'm scared of responding in the wrong way, I'm scared of making a mistake because what if it teaches her long lasting bad behaviours?! And let's be honest if you grew up in the 80s/90s like me, gentle parenting didn't exist. We got smacked (no offence to my parents) and now it's illegal."
"So I guess you could say I'm trying to find my place as a mother somewhere in between."
"We also talk about the 'juggle' but It's so much more than that. It's the responsibility of choosing a priority every second of the day because we simply can't do it all. I love my child but this is inevitably the hardest 'job' I've ever had (and I've had a lot of jobs)."
The social media star concluded the post in a positive light, revealing: "My new mantra though, is- 'show me how good it can get' So without wishing my daughter's childhood away or those precious bonding turning point/learning curve moments. I hope 'this' ie tantrums…too shall pass."
Laura shares daughter Bonnie with ex-boyfriend Gary Lucy, and has regularly spoke about the struggles of single parenting. Laura and Gary split before Bonnie was even born, with the star labelling him as a "deadbeat dad" after revealing he barely sees his young daughter.
Fans were quick to take to the comments showing their support, and praising Laura for being so open. One fan simply stated: "We're all wingin' it," alongside a red heart emoji.
Whilst another expressed: "I hear you and applaud you for sharing," and a third shared: "Love how genuine and honest you are Laura. Parenthood certainly ain't all plain sailing but you've got this beautiful mama, even if it feels like you don't sometimes, that's a normal part of parenthood but you do n you're such a great mammy to beautiful Bonnie."

Bob Vylan no longer playing Manchester festival after Glastonbury controversy

The group were due to headline the Saturday slot at Radar festival but no longer appear in the line-up. It comes as police launched an investigation after rapper Bobby Vylan led crowds in chants of 'death, death to the IDF (Israel Defence Forces)' during their livestreamed performance at the Somerset music festival last weekend. A statement posted on Radar festival's Instagram account said: 'Bob Vylan will not be appearing at Radar festival this weekend.' It has since updated its website, changing the Saturday slot to 'Headliner TBA' (to be announced). In response, the group shared the festival's statement on their Instagram story, adding the caption: 'Silence is not an option. We will be fine, the people of Palestine are hurting. Manchester we will be back.' The rap group had issued a statement on Tuesday claiming they were being 'targeted for speaking up' after Avon and Somerset police began its investigation. The BBC has also faced criticism for livestreaming the set and has since apologised, describing the chants as 'antisemitic sentiments' that were 'unacceptable'. It later emerged BBC director-general Tim Davie was at Glastonbury while the performance was being livestreamed. Bob Vylan performed on the West Holts Stage at Glastonbury (Yui Mok/PA) A BBC spokesperson said: 'The director-general was informed of the incident after the performance and at that point he was clear it should not feature in any other Glastonbury coverage.' The group have since been banned from entering the US, ahead of their tour, with deputy secretary of state Christopher Landau revoking the duo's visas for their 'hateful tirade at Glastonbury'. They have also been pulled from their upcoming performance at a German music venue. Bob Vylan are expected to perform at the Boardmasters surfing and music festival in Newquay, Cornwall, in August. The group was formed in Ipswich in 2017, and are known for addressing political issues in their albums including racism, masculinity and class. Bobby Vylan is the stage name of Pascal Robinson-Foster, 34, according to reports, while his bandmate drummer uses the alias Bobbie Vylan.

Warning over 'dangerous' fake Labubu dolls

A warning has been issued over fake Labubu dolls, which present a choking hazard to young children, after a number were seized in Scotland. The toy's popularity began last year after K-Pop star Lisa from girl group Blackpink shared a photo of herself with one, with other celebrities such as Rihanna and Dua Lipa following suit. Pop Mart, which makes the furry bag charms, announced in May that it would be pulling all of its Labubu plushies from its 16 UK stores for a month over safety concerns. Toys seized from four premises in Aberdeen were found to have loose parts, posing a choking hazard to young children. Labubus are mischievous, wide-eyed dolls created by Hong Kong-based artist Kasing Lung With their wild tufts of hair, sharp-toothed grins, and childlike charm, they straddle the line between cute and creepy They are sold in a blind box so buyers don't know which version they'll get – fuelling a booming resale market First popular across China and Southeast Asia, they've have sparked viral trends on TikTok and Instagram For many, they've become more than a doll — Labubu is a fashion and lifestyle accessory Trading Standards Scotland Toys seized from four premises in Aberdeen were found to have loose parts, posing a choking hazard. East Ayrshire Trading Standards also issued a warning on Tuesday, saying it was 'aware of concerns of safety and counterfeiting'. The products also do not have the required safety labelling, including a supplier in the UK or EU. Labubu was created by designer Kasing Lung, and is also the name of the main character in the series of toys. Trading Standards Scotland Fake labubu dolls are flooding the market in Scotland. Trading standards manager Graeme Paton said: 'Following the discovery of counterfeit toys, we want to alert consumers and particularly parents to be extra vigilant. 'These counterfeit toys can seem like a bargain compared with trying to source the genuine toy, especially when they are a much-sought-after item, but they are potentially dangerous. 'Counterfeit toys can potentially pose significant dangers to young children, such as chemical exposure and choking hazards. 'These products routinely lack proper safety testing, and we encourage anyone concerned about the safety of toys they've purchased to get in touch with us via Consumer Advice Scotland.' Parents are being urged to check the toys' packaging carefully for CE or UKCA mark and the name and address of the supplier in the UK or EU to show that the product complies with safety regulations. Most will have warnings and instructions to ensure their safe use. Customers should only buy from reputable sellers and consider the price; if it's a lot cheaper than expected, it may be counterfeit. Andy Murray's split from wife Kim saw Wimbledon icon splurge on purchase before being pulled over by police

Wimbledon icon Sir Andy Murray has opened up on a difficult period in his relationship with wife Kim Sears, revealing a rare moment of impulsiveness from 2008 that ended in disaster As Wimbledon 2025 gets up and running, British tennis legend Sir Andy Murray has shared a rare insight into a turbulent period in his otherwise steady relationship with wife Kim Sears. The Scottish icon recalled an unexpected tale from more than 10 years ago when a temporary split from Sears led to a spontaneous purchase and a close encounter with the law. The couple tied the knot in 2015 and are widely seen as something of an iconic pairing on the tennis scene. Their relationship has withstood the immense pressures of Murray's career, including the nerve-wracking SW19 showdowns that kept spectators and family members alike on tenterhooks. ‌ From his historic Wimbledon title wins in 2013 and 2016 to the punishing matches that shaped his legacy, Sears has been a constant figure, standing by him through every triumph and setback. Together, they have four children and have forged a life grounded in mutual respect and collective resilience. ‌ However, the pair briefly went their separate ways in 2008, which left Murray in a state of shock. And the Glaswegian, who is due to be honoured with a statue outside the All England Club, has opened up about how he responded during a hurtful period in his life. During a recent live show (via the Daily Express), Murray revealed that he dealt with the emotional aftermath in a way that was completely out of the ordinary for him. He splashed out on a Ferrari, which he affectionately named "Barry the Ferrari." "I thought it was cool," the 38-year-old laughed. "The first day I took it out to drive, it got pulled over by the police because the insurance hadn't cleared. I got rid of it [after] a couple of months, because it wasn't really me." This incident sheds light on a more vulnerable aspect of Murray, who is typically known for his stoic public persona. However, there are rare exceptions to that rule, like the occasional tear shed on Centre Court. The temporary separation from Sears proved to be a turning point, ultimately fortifying their bond. Since getting back together, they have tackled life's hurdles side by side, from the pressures of Murray's career to the delights and challenges of marriage and raising children. ‌ The couple began their romance in 2005. Kim - the daughter of player-turned-coach Nigel Sears, who has worked with Emma Raducanu - immediately clicked with Andy due to their shared passion for tennis. They announced their engagement in 2014 and married the following year. The family now resides in Surrey with their son and three daughters. With Andy having hung up his rackets and coaching duties on hold, he theoretically has more time for family life. However, Kim playfully hinted that this isn't quite the reality as she joked: "He is playing so much f***ing golf." Despite the jest, it's clear their partnership has only strengthened over the years. Even if Murray does spend more time on the fairways than Kim might like. Murray recently told The Guardian he wouldn't be attending Wimbledon this year unless his children want to attend. And after 20 years together, Kim may be content with tennis commitments being put on hold.
