Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Etihad Salam Telecom Company, a leading provider of telecommunications services in Saudi Arabia, and the National Water Company (NWC) today formalized a partnership at LEAP 2025, paving the way for nationwide deployment of cutting-edge connectivity services and ICT solutions. Under the agreement, Salam's will provide core business internet services, licensed infrastructure, and innovative smart solutions.
The strategic partnership will leverage Etihad Salam Telecom Company's connectivity solutions to improve operational efficiencies for more efficient water distribution and predictive maintenance, enhance cybersecurity measures and response protocols, improve customer service through AI assistants and self-service portals, and optimize resource management including water and waste systems. Both partners will build the foundation for digital transformation across the kingdom by enabling cost efficiencies and advanced smart technologies in the water management sector in line with Saudi Arabia's national vision.

Riyadh – The National Water Company (NWC) started executing 38 water and sanitation projects in the Asir region of the Southern Cluster at a combined value of SAR 2 billion. These projects include the construction of lines and networks exceeding 2,534 kilometers long, according to a press release. They align with NWC's strategic plans to develop infrastructure in the water and environmental services sectors and expand the coverage of the services it provides to its customers. Meanwhile, the company began implementing 27 water projects in Asir region across several districts, including Abha, Khamis Mushait, An Namas, Ahad Rafidah, and Mahayel Asir, among others. NWC will also implement transmission lines and networks with a total length of 2,177 kilometers, as well as construct 16 water reservoirs with a total capacity of 54,500 cubic meters. It will install pumping stations with a total daily capacity exceeding 15,000 cubic meters. Moreover, the company started to carry out 11 sanitation projects in the Asir region, including pipelines and networks exceeding 357 kilometers in length. The company will also implement a treatment plant with a total design capacity of 9,300 cubic meters per day in Al Qahma Center and Al Haridah Center, as well as lift stations with a total design capacity of over 106,000 cubic meters on a daily basis. NWC recently announced the implementation of 23 water and environmental projects in Madinah.

The state-owned National Water Company (NWC) said on Thursday that is implementing 19 water and wastewater projects in Jazan province at a cost of over 1.5 billion Saudi riyals ($400 million). These include the installation of water and sewage networks that extend more than 1,203 kilometres (km), the company said in a post on the social messaging platform X. The nine water projects involve water networks extending more than 397 km. Additionally, two operational reservoirs with a total capacity of 15,000 cubic metres (m3) will be developed, along with the building of pumping stations with a capacity exceeding 60,000 m3/day. NWC is also working on 10 wastewater projects, which include sewage networks totaling over 806 km, as well as treatment plants with a total capacity of 24,000 m3/day. (Editing by Anoop Menon) (
