Did EPFO Really Ask Pensioners To Submit A New Form By July 28? Here's The Truth

A viral message claiming EPFO issued a new pension form due by July 28, 2025 has been debunked as a fake message.
A viral message claiming that the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has issued a new pension form to be submitted by July 28, 2025, has been declared fake by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check team.
The false alert warned pensioners that failing to submit this 'new form" by the deadline would lead to suspension of their EPFO pension benefits starting August. However, PIB has confirmed that no such directive or form has been issued by EPFO.
'There is no new pension form or July 28 deadline introduced by EPFO," PIB Fact Check clarified in a post on X (formerly Twitter). The agency urged citizens to avoid falling for such misinformation and to verify details only through official EPFO sources, including epfindia.gov.in.
EPFO Urges Subscribers To Avoid Cybercafe Operators
The Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has strongly advised its members to avoid using unauthorised agents and instead make use of the free online services available on the portal. This recommendation follows the organisation's discovery that several cybercafe operators and fintech companies have been charging EPFO members large fees for services that are officially free.
EPFO strongly advises all its members, employers, and pensioners to utilise the online services available through the EPFO portal and the UMANG app. All EPFO services, including claim filing, transfers, KYC updation, and grievance processes, are entirely free. Members should not pay any fees to third-party agents or cyber cafes for these services.
These operators often use the EPFO's online grievance portal, a service accessible to any member at no cost from their home. Stakeholders are cautioned against using third-party companies or agents for EPFO-related services as this could expose their financial data to unauthorized entities. These third parties might charge unnecessary fees or compromise the security of personal information.
