'Clear and crisp' Amazon Echo wireless earbuds worth £130 cut to under £42

These Amazon ear buds hold their own against the likes of Apple and Samsung. There are many wireless earbuds on the market these days. As a modern day must-have, they come in handy for commuting, studying and much more. While some of the biggest brands can often be a bit on the expensive side, we have spotted a Wowcher deal that saves an impressive 68 per cent on the newest Amazon Echo Buds. The online delivery giant's wireless buds have been holding their own against the likes of Apple and Samsung, with this 2nd generation pair worth £129.99 on the Apple Sell Off website. However, tech fans who take advantage of Wowcher's deal will be able to nab them for a much more affordable £41.99, saving themselves an impressive £88. For those who value audio performance, then these wireless earbuds may be the one, as they use 5.7 mm dynamic drivers to deliver "crisp, balanced sound for a high-fidelity listening experience." In a busy area or on transport? Then they also come equipped with active noise cancellation technologies to block out background noise, while an ambient 'pass through' mode to stay in touch with surrounding noise for safety. Another nifty feature is that, since they are Amazon's own wireless earbuds, they are compatible with Alexa devices in the home, alongside Google Asist and Siri, allowing for hands-free control of music and any daily tasks. The addition of four sizes of ear tips and two sizes of wing tips, alongside the IP4X rating that makes them protected from sweat and splashes, so they are ideal for those who like to workout. As for the battery life itself, it seems to offer an impressive five hours worth of listening on a single charge, with up to 15 hours in total when used with the accompanying charging case. It is worth mentioning that Wowcher isn't the only place to make a deal, as Amazon offers a variety of other brands, with the Cillso Wireless Earbuds, worth £129.99, now on offer for just £21.99. Alternatively, Argos is another retailer that offers some discounts, and occasionally on major brands, with the Skullcandy Push Play True Wireless Earbuds available to buy for under £40. One five-star review read: "Best buds ever. Clear, crisp sound very loud. Great to just ask Alexa to play a song or answer calls. Best buy ever, highly recommend." Although, some have criticised the noise cancelling feature, with one three-star review reading: "Noise cancelling is non-existent. Otherwise good ear buds for the money I paid (£45), I would have sent back if I had paid full price..." Walmart bets on AI super agents to boost e-commerce growth

NEW YORK, July 24 (Reuters) - Walmart (WMT.N), opens new tab unveiled plans on Thursday to roll out a suite of AI-powered "super agents" designed to improve the shopping experience for customers and streamline operations. The world's largest retailer said the four agents powered by agentic AI - designed for Walmart shoppers, store employees, suppliers and sellers, and software developers - would soon be the primary way people engage with Walmart. The super agents will be the entry point for every AI interaction these groups have with Walmart, replacing several existing agents and AI tools, along with new ones yet to be built, the company said. Walmart is betting on AI to drive its e-commerce growth, aiming for online sales to account for 50% of its total sales within five years. The company reported annual sales of $648 billion last year. By harnessing AI to streamline the shopping process - from discovering new products and helping with returns to improving delivery speeds - the retailer hopes it can attract more shoppers away from Amazon (AMZN.O), opens new tab, which has also introduced a range of AI-powered tools for sellers and shoppers. Walmart's push comes as the short-term financial payoff of AI remains uncertain and concerns over how it might affect jobs across the industry. One of the agents, Sparky, is already available for shoppers on Walmart's app as a Gen-AI powered tool. Currently it assists customers with getting product suggestions for an athletic activity, finding the right ink for their printer, or summarizing product reviews, among other options. In its "super agent" form it will be able to reorder items, plan an event such as a "unicorn-themed party" and through computer vision be able to offer product recipes by just looking at the contents of a shopper's fridge, Hari Vasudev, Walmart's U.S. chief technology officer, said at an event in New York. Agentic AI is the next iteration of generative AI, in that it needs minimal human intervention to make decisions and achieve specific tasks. Walmart is also developing an "Associate" super agent, to be rolled out in the coming months, which will allow workers and corporate staff to do things such as submit an application for parental leave or give store managers immediate information on sales data for a certain category or a product with minimal input. Employees now use separate AI tools to handle those queries, a company spokesperson said. For sellers, suppliers, and advertisers, Walmart is developing a super agent called "Marty" to streamline the onboarding process, manage orders and create ad campaigns. It is also working on a "Developer" super agent, which will be the platform on which all future AI tools will be tested, built, and launched, the company said. "Agents can help automate and simplify pretty much everything that we do," Suresh Kumar, Walmart's chief technology officer said. He added that the company chose to launch these super agents now because "customers are ready, they are using AI in pretty much everything they do." The company declined to say whether the super agents would replace jobs. Dave Glick, senior vice president of enterprise business systems, said it would create new jobs without elaborating further. On Wednesday, Walmart had two AI-related announcements: it hired former Instacart executive Daniel Danker as executive vice president (EVP) for AI acceleration, product and design and created a new EVP, AI role that is yet to be filled. While retail has largely avoided AI-related layoffs, the tech industry has been hit hard, even in a historically strong market and resilient economy. In June, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said generative AI and agents will reduce its total corporate workforce over the next few years. Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab has emphasized that AI will boost productivity, but it has laid off thousands of employees, while Google (GOOGL.O), opens new tab has laid off hundreds of employees. Walmart has not linked any job cuts directly to AI, but it has been downsizing its corporate staff and is modernizing e-commerce fulfillment centers with automation, resulting in some workforce reductions.

Flies will stay away from your houseplants if you make two changes watering routine

Fungus gnats are a common pest that can be found in the soil of houseplants, and they can be a real nuisance. Luckily, there are a couple of simple changes you can make to your watering routine to keep them at bay. Flies buzzing around your houseplants are more than just an irritation - they're often a sign of deeper issues. Spotting fungus gnats on your plants is usually straightforward, and if you don't tackle the issue, these flies could escalate into a larger problem at home. ‌ These tiny, sluggish insects are commonly found near the soil surface, where they lay eggs that can hatch into larvae in favourable conditions. ‌ Warm, damp environments are ideal for these pests, transforming your plants into their perfect breeding site. ‌ I rid my house plants of fungus gnats in one week with these cheap Amazon buys Brits urged to take house plants into the garden and do one simple thing When the larvae hatch, they munch on organic material in the soil, and sometimes, they might even harm the roots of young plants. ‌ This is why a specialist has offered some watering advice that's crucial for those aiming to eliminate them or reduce their numbers if they've already taken over, reports the Express. Gardening and plants guru Calum Maddock from suggests one of the top methods to disrupt their habitat is to "keep the top couple of inches of your plant's soil dry." ‌ Fungus gnats thrive in constantly wet conditions, so letting the topsoil layer dry out can deter them significantly. Nonetheless, before trying this tactic, it's vital to check that your plant can handle this level of dryness in the soil. The second alteration addresses the issue directly at its origin. Rather than hydrating from above, "set your plant in a container or saucer of water when it looks like it needs a drink." ‌ This technique guarantees that the moisture gets to the roots without drenching the topsoil, thus deterring gnats from laying eggs. After roughly 20-30 minutes, it's crucial to "discard any water from the container that has not been absorbed by the plant." It's vital when employing this method to ensure you don't leave the pot in stagnant water for too long, as this could lead to further problems.
