We don't want confrontation with Telangana on river water sharing, says Naidu
'Both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana should prosper and develop. Andhra Pradesh will bear the cost of repairs to the Srisailam Project plunge pool. I have asked Telangana to utilise the Godavari river waters, if needed, and asked it to cooperate with inter-linking of rivers,' Mr. Naidu said, addressing a gathering of water users associations and farmers at Malyala in Nandikotkur mandal of Nandyal district.
Earlier, Mr. Naidu offered Jala Harathi and released water from the Malyala pump house into the Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi canal which has been expanded within 100 days after commencing the works by the NDA government.
Water to Rayalaseema
Explaining his efforts to resolve water sharing issues, he said they have decided to establish the Godavari River Water Board in Hyderabad and the Krishna Board in Vijayawada. 'I want to provide water to every acre of land in Rayalaseema. Completion of the Vedavati project will provide water to Aluru, Adoni and Mantralayam Assembly Constituencies. We want to take water till Chittoor district. We will complete the Adivipalli reservoir and take water from Handri to Neeva branch canal,' he said. They will provide water to Chittoor next year, he added.
'The water that starts from the footsteps of Mallanna (Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna swamy temple at Srisailam) will be taken to Venkanna (Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala) at Tirupati. This is not just inter-linking of rivers but also Gods. We will prepare plans accordingly,' he said.
Industrial development
Mr. Naidu said the party general secretary and IT Minister Nara Lokesh had released the Rayalaseema Declaration during his Yuvagalam Padayatra and the same will be implemented. 'People of Rayalaseema have elected us with huge margins and we will never forget the promises made to the region. We will develop the region industrially. We will commence Drone City in Orvakal of Kurnool district. We will set up High Court bench in Kurnool and also complete the Rayalaseema Steel Plant in Kadapa,' Mr. Naidu said.
Taking potshots at the previous government, the Chief Minister said earlier schools were run without teachers while they have started recruitment of 16,000 teachers through DSC soon after coming to power. ''Similarly, we have come to the rescue of the mango farmers by providing ₹4 per kg support price and also purchased tobacco from farmers,' he said and added that the government would deposit Annadata Sukhibava financial assistance to farmers in three instalments.
Mr. Naidu reiterated that the promise of free bus ride to women would also be fulfilled and they would also extend financial assistance to the unemployed as promised.
The Chief Minister recalled launching the Handri-Neeva project in 1995 at Uravakonda, a 554-km-long canal many once called impossible. He highlighted sanctioning ₹3,890 crore for canal expansion, completed in just 100 days. Mr. Naidu promised that within 10-15 days, water will reach the last villages and all reservoirs in drought-prone Rayalaseema will be filled.

‘AAIB is unbiased, investigation as per international norms': Minister Ram Mohan Naidu addresses questions on Air India plane crash in Parliament
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu Monday addressed the Rajya Sabha on the investigation into the Ahmedabad Air India plane crash and said the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is totally 'unbiased' and conducting the probe as per 'international norms'. In the first Parliament session after the Air India plane crash on June 12, which led to 270 deaths, including 241 on board the London Gatwick-bound AI171 flight, Naidu faced questions on what could have caused the deadly crash and compensation to victims. Citing the AAIB's preliminary findings, which said the engine fuel control switches for both engines on the Boeing 787-8 aircraft transitioned from the 'RUN' to the 'CUTOFF' position shortly after takeoff, BJP Rajya Sabha member Ashok Shankarrao Chavan asked the minister what could have been the reason behind the fuel cut-off. Replying, Naidu said, 'This was a preliminary report… For a definitive answer, we have to wait for the final report. AAIB is conducting the investigation as per international norms. They are totally unbiased and looking at facts alone.' Chavan said the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is heavily dependent on electronics and that it was a software glitch that led to the engines on a Japan flight shutting down unexpectedly in 2019. He asked whether a malfunction in the electrical system could have been the cause of the fuel cut-off in the Ahmedabad crash, considering that the excerpt from the cockpit voice recording suggested neither of the pilots had switched it off. Naidu said this was the first time that the country did not have to send the black box to another country for decoding, having set up its own lab for analysing flight data and cockpit recordings. He was referring to the new facility established at the AAIB headquarters in Delhi in April for analysing aircraft flight data and cockpit recordings. 'It used to be that even if there was slight damage to the black box, we had to send it to the original manufacturer to decode it. It was the first time that this was done in India,' said Naidu. Nationalist Congress Party (SP) Member Fauzia Khan asked what the government was doing about the issue of engine shutdowns during flights. She said that RTI data revealed 65 incidents from 2020 to 2025. She also cited the example of AI131, which was forced to turn back in 2023 after an engine shutdown. Naidu said there could be multiple issues leading to an engine shutdown, ranging from weather conditions to bird strikes. He said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) does spot checks, night checks, among other measures, as per their annual surveillance and safety plan. Another BJP member, Satnam Singh Sandhu, asked about compensation and support to the families of medical students who died on the ground during the air crash. The minister said that all casualties, whether passengers or those on the ground, were being treated equally and their families would receive compensation and support from the government. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) member Manoj Kumar Jha asked about the government's response to the 2018 Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) from the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regarding the potential disengagement of the fuel control switch locking feature on some Boeing aircraft. Naidu replied that there are two types of directives — one that every state has to follow mandatorily and another, such as the SAIB, that does not need to. At the time, the regulator took the call that there was no need for special checks, he said, adding that routine checks were, of course, ongoing. Naidu added that the AAIB also mentioned this in their report in addition to several other angles that are being examined. Several Rajya Sabha members asked about the vacancies, especially in the technical positions, at the DCGA. To this, Naidu said that several additional positions were created over the last two years, keeping in mind the expanding air travel network in India. This is the reason why some positions are vacant even as the recruitment process is ongoing, he said. He added that these were highly technical positions, and there is a very small pool of people who qualify, leading to a longer recruitment process.

While speaking to mediapersons, he accused past and current leaders of failing the people of Bihar. "We started our march from this very land. I have walked these same paths. There used to be knee-deep sand on this road, and I raised my voice about it... Today, I see a crowd of people. People want change. People want to be free from Lalu, Nitish, and Prime Minister Modi," Mr Kishor said. The Assembly elections are expected to be a crucial test for Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party. Mr Kishor is confident that the Jan Suraaj Party will bring about change in Bihar. Bihar Assembly elections are expected to be held later this year in October or November; however, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not announced an official date. While the NDA, consisting of the BJP, JD(U), and LJP, will once again be looking to continue their stint in Bihar, the INDIA bloc, consisting of the RJD, Congress, and left parties, will be looking to unseat Nitish Kumar. In the current Bihar Assembly of 243 members, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) consists of 131 with the BJP having 80 MLAs, JD(U)-45, HAM(S)-4, with the support of 2 Independent Candidates. The Opposition's INDIA Bloc comprises 111 members, with the RJD leading with 77 MLAs, followed by the Congress with 19, the CPI(ML) with 11, the CPI(M) with 2, and the CPI with 2.
