Boy, 15, arrested in race hate crimes inquiry
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a series of suspected race hate crimes in York.
The latest incident, on Sunday, involved a group of about 15 balaclava-clad youths on mountain bikes who attacked two Muslim men with tennis rackets and sticks while subjecting them to racist abuse , according to North Yorkshire Police.
The boy was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of two racially aggravated assaults and had been released on conditional bail, a force spokesperson said.
Further arrests were likely to follow in connection with the incidents, which had all happened in the Hull Road area of York, they added.

Former England captain Paul Ince has been charged with drink-driving. The 57-year-old was arrested after a black Range Rover hit a central reservation in Cheshire on Saturday. The crash happened at around 5pm on Chester High Road in Neston, Cheshire Constabulary said. He has been bailed to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court on July 18. The former West Ham, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Liverpool midfielder won 53 caps for his country. Naked man 'attacks cars' during roundabout rampage
A naked man caused chaos on a busy roundabout in the Rochdale area of Greater Manchester. Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were called to an incident on Sunday (June 29). The Manchester Evening News reports the man was said to be attacking cars during a rampage. Police were called to reports of a man, in the nude, that had been approaching vehicles at random close to the Middleton Archer pub. A post shared on social media said the man was "running over the roundabout" and "going for any car or person near him". One post read that a man "tried to attack my car as I picked my daughter up from the gym". Then added: "It was awful!" "It was awful," another post read. "I was two cars behind when he was attacking the guy in car. "My girls were also in car, think they're traumatised bless them." Another woman claimed the man "attacked" their car, while her daughter and other family members were inside, before climbing into the driver's seat.
