WNBA Announced Dream Forward's Accomplishment in Win Over Valkyries
The Atlanta Dream took care of business on Monday against the Golden State Valkyries. The Dream had a 90-81 win over the newest WNBA team, thanks to the leadership of All-Star guard Allisha Gray who finished with 24 points, four assists and two steals for Atlanta.

Last week, it was announced that Gray earned her third All-Star selection. This season, the WNBA star is the leading scorer for the Dream, which has resulted in a 12-7 record. In the first 18 games she played this year, the star guard is averaging 19.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists on 41.5% shooting from deep.

Off the bench, forward Naz Hillmon added 16 points. It was her hot shooting performance that helped the Dream perform better than the Valkyries. Hillmon made a career-high four 3-pointers in the win.
The WNBA recognized her accomplishment and mentioned her on X.
"The Atlanta Dream defeat the Golden State Valkyries 90-81 to move to 12-7 on the season 🙌," the league's social media posted. "3x All-Star Allisha Gray led the way with 24 PTS, 4 AST, & 3 PM, while Naz Hillmon added in 16 PTS, 6 REB, & a career-high 4 3PM!"

Hillmon has played 18 games, averaging 6.7 points on 50.6% shooting from the field, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists off the bench. From long range, she isn't the most reliable, making only close to 32% of her attempts. However, it was one of the best nights of her career on Monday.
The next game for the Dream will be on Friday against the Indiana Fever, their final meeting of the year. In the first three games they've played against each other, the Dream have the season advantage with a 2-1 record.

Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier set to reveal teams they drafted for WNBA All-Star Game
NEW YORK — Caitlin Clark and Naphessa Collier each have their draft strategy for the WNBA All-Star Game. The two captains chose their teams for the game that will be played on July 19 at Clark's home arena in Indianapolis. The squads will be revealed Tuesday night. There's intrigue whether Clark will draft Fever teammate Aliyah Boston with the No. 1 pick that the guard earned by getting the most fan votes. Or will she take three-time league MVP A'ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces. Clark also may try to draft All-Star reserve Kelsey Mitchell, who is another Indiana teammate. 'I think there's a high chance that Kels and AB will be on my team,' Clark said at an open practice for season ticket holders. 'I'm going to do everything I can to get those two. I might trade the rest of my team for those two. I'm excited, it will be a lot of fun. That's what the All-Star Game is for, giving the fans something to cheer about.' Wilson said at practice that she was fine wherever she was drafted. The Aces star has experience having been captain of the game a few times. She went against Breanna Stewart, who is also a starter again this year. 'Stewie and I always had fun, that's just us,' Wilson said. 'We took it seriously, but we also didn't. We just made sure we were happy with our choices. Stewie and I had our unwritten written rules. We had a good time we had an understanding of everything.' The other starters that Clark and Collier will choose from include rookie Paige Bueckers, Sabrina Ionescu, Allisha Gray, Satou Sabally and Nneka Ogwumike. Collier will get first pick of the reserves. Her teammate, Courtney Williams, is among the 12 players that were chosen by the league's 13 coaches. Other All-Stars include first-timers Kayla Thornton, Gabby Williams and Washington rookies Kiki Iirafen and Sonia Citron. It's the first time there are three rookies in the All-Star Game since 2011. Seattle's Skylar Diggins, Phoenix's Alyssa Thomas, Atlanta's Rhyne Howard, Los Angeles' Kelsey Plum, Las Vegas' Jackie Young and Chicago's Angel Reese round out the players.

Hugo Gonzalez, Amari Williams, and Max Shulga are all on the C's roster for the NBA 2K26 Summer League 2025, which was announced Tuesday. Boston drafted Gonzalez with the 28th overall pick out of Spain, where the 19-year-old just wrapped up his season for Real Madrid. The young forward will not head back overseas for the 2025-26 season and will have a chance to earn some playing time as a rookie in Boston. Williams was drafted 46th overall out of Kentucky, and could also earn some playing time as a rookie. The Celtics have lost both Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kornet this offseason, and with Al Horford potentially departing as well, Boston is going to need depth in its frontcourt. Gonzalez, Williams, and Shulga -- a sharpshooting guard taken 57th overall out of VCU -- will play their first pro games in a Celtics uniform Friday night in Las Vegas. Norris also played in eight games for the Maine Celtics in the G League, where he averaged 14.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. The roster is made up of a number of undrafted free agents along with former NBA players looking for another shot in the league. Kenny Lofton Jr. is one of the more intriguing players, as he's fresh off winning MVP of the Chinese Basketball Association for the Shanghai Sharks. Lofton Jr. has spent time in the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies, Philadelphia 76ers, and Utah Jazz, in addition to stints in the G League. Following the first four games, the top four teams (based on winning percentage and a number of tiebreakers) will advance to the playoffs, which will tip off with a semifinal doubleheader on Saturday, July 19. The two winning teams will then meet in the championship game on Monday, July 20 at 10 p.m. The 26 teams that do not qualify for the playoffs will play a consolation game on either July 20 or July 21.

Who will Caitlin Clark pick? Who will Napheesa Collier take? The WNBA All-Star Game captains will select their rosters in a draft at 7 p.m. (ET) Tuesday, airing on ESPN's 'WNBA Countdown.' Choosing their season-long teammates or optimizing their rosters with a balance of guards and bigs? Lots of interesting decisions await. Our WNBA experts at The Athletic, Sabreena Merchant and Ben Pickman, joined 'No Offseason' host Zena Keita to take on the task in a mock draft. Based on a coin flip, Pickman represented Team Clark, and Merchant represented Napheesa Collier. (The transcript has been edited for length and clarity.) Pickman: I'm going to take the other best player available. Before I get into the positional weeds, I will go with A'ja Wilson. We know Caitlin Clark is going to take Aliyah Boston first, but I personally, as Ben Pickman, will be taking A'ja Wilson. Advertisement Merchant: I'm going to take (Breanna Stewart). Pickman: Give me Sabrina Ionescu. Guards have won the WNBA All-Star MVP every year since 2013. … Give me Sabrina for some more shooting. Merchant: We'll keep the UConn train rolling here. I'll take Paige. Keita: Staying within the lineage. Geno would be proud, Phee. Ok, Caitlin, you're up. Pickman: Paige was going to be my next choice, so I have to reevaluate this draft. Keita: Whether she shows up in the game or the skills or anything, you know she's got a good track record coming in from last year. So far Caitlin only has one big. Pickman: Before I make a total strategy shift, I'm going to take Kelsey Plum, and just continue to load up on guards. Kelsey Plum, a former All-Star Game MVP. Stewie played the five over the weekend. She could easily play the one or the two for this particular roster. Merchant: Speaking of players who can take the ball off the rim and go, I'm tempted to take Alyssa Thomas here, but she has not shown a lot of interest in All-Star Games before. So I'm not sure if this is the play that I want to take her. Let's just get a little more ballhandling. I'm going to go with Skylar Diggins. Keita: Love that choice. Kelsey Plum, Allisha Gray, Sabrina Ionescu. That's some solid (guard play). Alyssa Thomas and Angel Reese both two players who can give you that frontcourt size but also the ability to take the ball and go and distribute. … You've got some versatility. And then Satou Sabally, of course, that can play three, four, two, whatever you want. OK, Caitlin's team's looking solid. And of course, A'ja Wilson, you can never doubt her. You had me in the first half a little concerned, but now you've rounded out nicely with your reserves.
