France's Boisson wins first WTA title in Hamburg
In a clash of first-time WTA singles finalists, fifth seed Boisson came back from 4-0 down in the first set and a break down in both sets to secure the WTA 250 claycourt title.
The 22-year-old made waves last month in her Grand Slam main draw debut when she, ranked 361st, soared through the French Open as a wild card entrant, bowing out at the semi-final stage to eventual champion Coco Gauff.
"This is the first time I've given a (winner's) speech, so please bear with me," Boisson said before offering a simple "Danke" (Thank you) to the German crowd.
Boisson faced heartbreak with a first-round qualifying loss at Wimbledon, but found her form again on clay and is set to rise above her career best ranking of number 63 in Monday's updated WTA rankings.

West Ham make decision on Lucas Paqueta's future at the club - with the Brazilian expected to be cleared of spot-fixing charges
West Ham United are ready to cash in on Lucas Paqueta this summer – two years after missing out on an £80million payday when the FA's investigation thwarted his big-money move to Manchester City. Paqueta had been considered untouchable to potential suitors with the spot-fixing charges hanging over him which could have robbed him of his entire career. But Mail Sport has learned the Hammers are open to letting Paqueta leave for less than half of that old £80m valuation now that he is in line to be found innocent of picking up yellow cards on purpose in Premier League fixtures to influence betting outcomes. It is believed a bid in the region of £30m in this window could be enough to convince the Hammers to part with their Brazilian star. Paqueta's former club Flamengo are among those who have been interested in the 27-year-old. Their sporting director Jose Boto told Mail Sport during their Club World Cup campaign last month that they are targeting European experience, having brought in Jorginho from Arsenal earlier this summer. Flamengo have been waiting to discover whether Paqueta was deemed guilty by the independent panel who tried his FA case, though they are not alone in that regard. The attacking midfielder is expected to attract several suitors after yesterday's news that he is set to be found innocent. Official confirmation has not yet come from the FA. City's interest in Paqueta came when he was at the peak of his powers, having played the pass that set up Jarrod Bowen to win them the 2023 Conference League final in Prague. Paqueta's current contract expires in 2027, though West Ham do hold the option of tying him down for an additional year. They signed him for £51m from Lyon in 2022.

Loris Karius bares all on his relationship with TV presenter wife Diletta Leotta - as he reveals her honest thoughts on living apart after she 'REFUSED' to move to Germany
Loris Karius has bared all on his relationship with his famous wife, including her thoughts on the pair living in different countries. The former Liverpool goalkeeper, 32, began dating presenter Diletta Leotta, 33, who has become known for her work with sports broadcaster DAZN, in 2022. Just a year later and the lovebirds were welcoming their daughter, baby Aria, before tying the knot in a lavish ceremony in 2024. It hasn't been all plain-sailing for Karius and Leotta though, with the newly-weds living in totally different cities as he plies his trade at Schalke, situated in the German district of Gelsenkirchen, while his wife fulfils her presenting duties in Milan. And after Karius signed a contract extension keeping him at Schalke until 2027 earlier this summer, their long-distance marriage won't be coming to an end anytime soon. In a new interview this week, the German goalkeeper revealed Leotta's honest thoughts about living life away from him, and the superstar couple's plans for the future. He told Sport Bild: 'Diletta even advised me to extend at Schalke. She thinks the club is great and she likes everything she has seen here so far. 'Diletta also thinks that royal blue is the perfect choice for my sporting success. She is fully behind this decision! 'But of course it's hard for me when I can't see my little daughter Aria for days. But that's what FaceTime is for, and we see each other regularly - as often as possible.' Karius also opened up about the possibility of him and his Italian wife welcoming a second child in the near future. 'We would love to have a second child,' he added. 'We don't know when yet. Nothing concrete is planned so far. 'Love doesn't go that far! In Italy, it is also more common for everyone to keep their last name after the wedding.' Karius says that Leotta is actually more famous than he is, and when they're out on the streets of Milan, she sometimes gets noticed more than him. 'She is already recognised a lot,' he joked, 'sometimes more!' The new interview comes after Leotta revealed last month that Karius was so overwhelmed meeting her family for the first time that he locked himself in his room and dived onto the bed to process his emotions. Being introduced to her family in Catania, Sicily, came as a culture shock to the footballer, who struggled to come to terms with how noisy the area was. 'It was fun to bring Loris to my house in Catania for the first time,' Leotta told the Storie oltre le Stories podcast via Gazzetta dello Sport. 'At a certain point during lunch - he doesn't speak Italian, by the way - he heard all this noise. 'He wasn't used to this disaster, he said to me: "Please stop, I need a break!" 'He went upstairs to his room, locked himself in and threw himself on the bed destroyed by life. After a difficult period at Liverpool which saw him make a couple of crucial errors against Real Madrid in a Champions League final, Karius has got onto play for Besiktas, Union Berlin, Newcastle and now Schalke in the second tier of German football. They narrowly avoided the drop last season however, finishing in 14th place.

England Lionesses's paltry win bonus for Euro 2025 compared to mens team but stars could rake in millions off the field
ENGLAND WOMEN are set to receive a £1.7 million bonus if they win the Euros - almost ten times less than what the men would have pocketed if they had won. England's men's team were on course to receive £14MILLION in bonuses from the FA if they had beaten Spain in the final of Euro 2024. 4 4 But their female counterparts of due to receive just a fraction of that sum, sharing a bonus of just £1.7m. According to reports from the Mirror, each player is set to receive a bonus of £73,000 if they win. This is in stark contrast to the men's team, who had a shot at securing over £400,000 each, with another £4million going to manager Gareth Southgate. However, the female players are expected to make up some of the difference through their own deals away from the team. Sponsorship expert Nigel Currie said: "The Lionesses could certainly cash in by retaining the Euros. 'It would be a unique achievement and the potential offers would far exceed those on the table currently. "Many of the high-profile players can expect to earn million-pound endorsement contracts on the back of further success.' The Lionesses are expected to pocket an estimated £3million between sponsorship deals and social media platforms. England women's players already have individual sponsorship deals that extend well beyond the traditional sporting brands. These deals span across various industries including fast-food, banking, cosmetics and automakers, as well massive income from social media and sponsored posts. Hayley Knight, co-founder of PR company BE YELLOW, told MailSport: "They're doing more outside the sport than the men's team ever have,' England star Chloe Kelly speaks about her crucial Euros penalty against Italy 4 "They're more human. They're more accessible. They're pushing for equal access in sport for schools and they're influencing policy. "And the one wonderful thing about the Lionesses in particular and this particular team is that there's no scandal, they're very open and honest. "There's LGBT representation. It's very diverse." England squeezed through the semi-final in dramatic fashion after Michelle Agyemang's 96th-minute equaliser forced the match into extra time. Chloe Kelly followed up her saved penalty in the 119th minute to send England through. The match will be a repeat of the 2023 Women's World Cup final, from which Spain emerged 1-0 victors.
