'Apart from fulfilling norms and regular faculty strength as per the NMC guidelines, interviews should be conducted to get good faculty for teaching at medical colleges,' Pathak, who also holds the medical education portfolio, told officials.
Currently, the state has 1,871 PG seats in the government sector and 2,100 in the private sector.
Also, principals of the state-run medical colleges will take daily rounds of their campuses and upload pictures of the same, Pathak said.
According to a directive issued in this regard by principal secretary, medical health and medical education, Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma, the principals will be responsible for ensuring all services related to patient care and teaching on campuses.
'In case principals are not available, deputies shall take the rounds,' said Pathak.
Staff from the maintenance department should accompany the principals or deputies, so that issues are resolved quickly. For enhancing security, ex-servicemen will be deployed, particularly near girls' hostels and emergency wings, he added.
CCTV cameras will be installed with live feeds accessible to principals and senior officials via mobile devices.
The deputy CM also told officials to ensure treatment facilities are provided in the emergency wings for which an adequate number of doctors and paramedical staff should be deployed.
Ensure food quality for patients admitted in hospitals. Make use of Ayushman Bharat scheme for their welfare and provide them a clean and proper environment for treatment,' Pathak said.

Saudi developer taps S. Korea as top partner for futuristic project
The head of New Murabba Development Company, the developer behind Saudi Arabia's futuristic urban development project, said Monday that South Korea has been chosen as the company's top partner for its advanced infrastructure and information technology capabilities, as well as its long history of collaboration with the Middle Eastern nation. "There is a long and strong history between the two nations of collaborating," said Michael Dyke, chief executive officer of the company, in an interview with Yonhap News Agency. "Working with countries and people we already know and share good alignment with is always a good start." New Murabba Development Company is set to hold the New Murabba Seoul Forum in Seoul on Tuesday and Wednesday to showcase its vision for building a new downtown in Riyadh. The event is expected to draw 500 participants, including company officials, government representatives and investors. As part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative, the New Murabba project aims to develop more than 25 million square meters of floor area, including residential units, hotels, retail spaces, leisure facilities and community infrastructure. Dyke said the familiarity and history of successful collaboration led the company to choose South Korea as the first Asian stop for its global promotional campaign. He noted the legacy of South Korean construction firms in Saudi Arabia during the economic booms of the 1970s and 1980s, when they contributed to building key infrastructure, such as highways and port facilities, supporting the kingdom's petroleum-based economic growth. As its first partnership in South Korea, the company signed a memorandum of understanding with Naver Cloud Corp., a cloud services affiliate of IT giant Naver Corp., to collaborate on advanced technologies, such as robotics, autonomous driving and smart city platforms, over the next three years. Naver is already active in Saudi Arabia's digital transformation efforts, including the development of digital twin platforms for major cities like Mecca. "We have been in dialogue with a number of South Korean companies," Dyke said, adding that more opportunities will be available for Korean firms to join the megacity project through consortiums and partnerships in other sectors. On the topic of regional geopolitical tensions, Dyke stressed that the situation in the Middle East has stabilized in recent weeks. "We are not seeing any slowdown in terms of interest, economic activity or long-term planning," he said. The first phase of the New Murabba project -- including the construction of the city center and the iconic Mukaab structure -- is scheduled for completion by 2030. The entire city is expected to open by 2040, he added. (Yonhap)

Grade A warehousing demand surging as Saudi Arabia's economy expands
Saudi Arabia's logistics and warehousing sector is expanding at a rapid pace, propelled by a growing e-commerce market and rising need for Grade A warehousing, according to global real estate consultancy JLL. Among the key growth enablers are the Kingdom's industrial and logistics sectors located in special economic zones (SEZs) and industrial hubs in prime locations. Currently, 36 industrial cities offer ready-to-use facilities, including factories and storage units. Meanwhile, incentives and tax breaks at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), King Salman Energy Park (SPARK), and Jazan Economic City (JEC) are driving investment and innovation. The logistics and industrial real estate market is gaining ground due to the Kingdom's position as the largest e-commerce market in the GCC, supported by high internet access (97 percent), a young and tech-savvy population, and a growing preference for online shopping. Modern commerce and e-commerce are expected to contribute around 80 percent to the retail sector by 2030, fueling strong demand for advanced storage solutions, fulfilment centres near consumers, and efficient last-mile distribution networks, JLL said. The construction boom in Saudi Arabia, aligned with Vision 2030, has injected $850 billion into the construction industry, creating challenges for global supply chains. In response, businesses and investors are adopting proactive strategies such as supply chain diversification, investing in local manufacturing to enhance self-sufficiency, implementing best practices to optimise inventory and minimise lead times. The National Industrial Development and Logistics Programme (NIDLP), one of Vision 2030's core pillars, aims to increase the logistics sector's GDP share from 6 percent to 10 percent by 2030, and localise 70 percent of the supply chain.
