Virtual group Plave to launch first Asia tour
Pioneering virtual idol group to kick off 'Dash: Quantum Leap' tour after record-breaking success
Plave, the leading K-pop group in the virtual artist scene, is set to embark on its first Asia tour.
According to agency Vlast, Plave will kick off its "Dash: Quantum Leap" Asia tour with a concert at the KSPO Dome in Seoul from Aug. 15 to 17. This will be their first performance since the "Hello, Asterum! Encore" held in Seoul in October 2024.
The KSPO Dome, which can accommodate over 10,000 people, is widely considered a benchmark of popularity and success for K-pop idol groups. Plave will be the first virtual idol group ever to perform on its stage.
Starting in Seoul, Plave will go on to perform in five other cities, Taipei on Aug. 23, Hong Kong on Oct. 1, Jakarta on Oct. 18, Bangkok on Oct. 25 and Tokyo on Nov. 1–2.
Debuting in 2023, Plave is a five-member virtual boy group consisting of Yejun, Noah, Bamby, Eunho and Hamin. They've quickly risen in popularity across Korea and Asia, becoming one of the most successful virtual idol acts in K-pop.
Using motion tracking and real-time rendering, the group translates the performers' actual movements directly into their virtual characters. Unlike AI-generated virtual humans, Plave's members perform live vocals and choreography at their concerts.
The group's third mini album "Caligo Pt.1," released in February, featured the main track 'Dash,' which became the first song by a virtual idol group to enter Billboard's Global 200 chart. The album also broke Melon records with its highest-ever 24-hour streaming numbers, making Plave the only artist to simultaneously join both the Billions Club and the Millions Album record categories within a day of release.
Plave is also set to expand its reach further with official Japanese debut single 'Hide and Seek,' scheduled for release on June 16.

At Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on Saturday, Psy brought his signature "Summer Swag" concert series back to life with help from surprise guests Rose and G-Dragon, making the night one to remember for thousands of fans who came ready to be soaked — both literally and emotionally. Rose, G-Dragon make surprise appearances at Psy's summer bash 'Master of Performance" Psy has been hosting his water-themed summer concert series since 2011, where fans are showered with massive jets of water in sync with the beat. But this year's kickoff show in Incheon on Saturday took things up a notch with the return of some of the biggest former stars from YG Entertainment. Rose made a surprise appearance, performing her recent hit "Apt." It marked her first appearance in a "Summer Swag" concert. The K-pop singer also sang two B-side tracks — "Toxic Till the End" and "Number One Girl"— from her debut solo LP, 'Rosie," released in December. Then came G-Dragon in the second half of the gig — his first joint performance with Psy in 12 years. The Big Bang leader electrified the crowd, opening with "Power," the lead single off his this year's 'Ubermensch,' followed by "Home Sweet Home," "Crayon" and a collaborative performance of "Crooked" with Psy. Psy kept the energy high, delivering his own string of hits, including "Bird," "Gangnam Style," "Gentleman" and "New Face," all enhanced by a full band and stage-shaking water cannons. More than just a musical showcase, it invited fans to sing along, complete missions and play games with Jin throughout the evening. Inspired by his YouTube content series 'Run Seokjin,' the stage featured a massive light-emitting diode sculpture in the shape of lips — a nod to Jin's iconic 'hand-kiss' gesture. Opening with "Running Wild," the lead track from his first solo EP, 'Happy,' Jin performed a wide range of songs, including "I'll Be There," "Journey With Clouds," "Until I Reach You," "Don't Say You Love Me" and viral hit "Super Tuna." The show also included a surprise guest appearance by singer Choi Yena, who featured on Jin's song "Loser" from his second EP, 'Echo.' BTS bandmates J-Hope and RM were also in attendance to cheer Jin on. When he looked for his bandmates in the crowd, the screen caught J-Hope beaming with a bright smile. RM was also in attendance, but avoided the camera, prompting Jin to joke, 'He must be feeling shy.' Hyunjin of Stray Kids collaborates with d4vd
Emotional collaboration blends d4vd's signature sound with Hyunjin's soft vocals Hyunjin of Stray Kids has teamed up with American singer-songwriter d4vd for a new single. The new track 'Always Love (featuring Hyunjin of Stray Kids),' was officially released at midnight on Friday. G Dragon, Jennie make NME's top albums of year so far
British music publication NME published list of 'The best albums of 2025 … so far!' on Thursday in the UK which included two albums of K-pop artists: G Dragon and Jennie. G Dragon's 'Ubermensch' is a 'commanding, compelling comeback' that 'proves the K-pop star's still got it,' wrote the magazine which previously commented that it 'is firmly on par with G Dragon's best work and yet more proof of his unwavering greatness.' The album is his third solo LP that marked his solo comeback after eight years away. Jennie's first solo LP 'Ruby' was touted as 'a showcase of bold creative vision that goes beyond being Blackpink's 'It Girl.'' Upon the release of the album, it wrote, 'After years of being scrutinized, Jennie flips the lens back onto herself and seizes control of her own mythos with staggering clarity.'
