MPD says speeds reached 100 MPH before driver crashed into pole, ran before arrest
The Madisonville Police Department state on Thursday at about 7:47 a.m., officers saw a blue Ford Escape traveling north on I-69, quickly changing lanes and forcing other vehicles to get out of the way while going upwards of 100 MPH.
Officials state the vehicle exited before colliding with a light pole and catching on fire after flipping over and landing.
Two people taken to hospital after serious crash on 41, Waterworks Road
The driver was later identified as Ronald Mckenzie, and he allegedly jumped a barbed wire fence and fleeing on foot. Officials say a K9 unit arriving and was deployed, and Mckenzie stopped and started to comply after being warned of a pending K9 release.
Mckenzie was able to be taken into custody after a brief struggle.
He was taken to the Hopkins County Jail after being medically cleared for possible injuries, facing several charges including speeding, resisting arrest, fleeing or evading police and wanton endangerment.

One person injured in Hollywood neighborhood shooting
One person was taken to the hospital after a shooting early Friday morning in a Hollywood neighborhood. According to police, just before 1:30 a.m. officers were sent to the 1200 block of Hollywood Boulevard, just east of Young Circle, in response to reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a person suffering from a gunshot wound. The injured person was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital where they were listed as stable. A SWAT team was called in along with K9 officers. Surveillance video from a home in the area shows an armed man walking through the front yard as he's confronted by police officers. "I was driving home from dinner and my daughter texted me that I should try to get home as soon as possible because there was a guy jumping the fence in our backyard. He somehow managed his way into our front yard. That's where two cops showed up. They had him at gunpoint, he was holding a gun. They were like drop the gun, drop the gun, and I wasn't sure what was happening. I was about five minutes away from home and I saw cops blowing past me," William Castillo said. Police have not said if anyone was taken into custody. The eastbound lanes of Hollywood Boulevard between 12 Avenue and 13 Avenue were closed for the investigation.

Reckless driver who allegedly struck, killed NYC car wash worker is busted 2 years later: cops
A reckless Bronx driver who allegedly struck and killed a car wash employee – pinning him against a vehicle he was drying – has been arrested more than two years later, cops said. Trina Bryant, 32, was picked up at her home by the NYPD's Warrants Squad Thursday afternoon in connection to the caught-on-video Feb. 19, 2023 crash in Morrisania, authorities said. She was charged with manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and leaving the scene of an accident, police said. Driver ejected, run over by another vehicle, during crash on I-94
One person was ejected from a car, run over and seriously injured during a crash on Interstate 94 in Detroit, Michigan State Police reported. The call about the single vehicle, rollover crash was made about 1:30 a.m. Thursday to the Detroit Regional Communication Center. When troopers arrived on scene, they found the wrecked Dodge Magnum was blocking the right and center lanes of westbound I-94 near Concord Avenue. The vehicle was on fire, with Detroit Fire Department on scene. The 23-year-old driver, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time, had been thrown into the right lane. Troopers determined that the Dodge Magnum had run off the road to the right, went up the embankment rolling down onto the freeway, and then caught fire. Witnesses also told officers that the driver was then run over by a passing vehicle, possibly a maroon Ford Escape. The driver was transported to a local hospital, and the injuries are described as life threatening. Michigan Department of Transportation traffic reports The investigation is continuing.
