‘Lightweight and sturdy' expandable carry-on suitcase is slashed by £130
As we enter the final day of the Amazon Prime Day sale, now is the last chance to snap up some great bargains, especially if there are any larger purchases you've been putting off making. With plenty of summer holidays and staycations ahead, now is also a great opportunity to nab yourself some new luggage in the sale, particularly when it has as good a saving as this Samsonite Intuo Expandable Hand Luggage.
The carry-on size suitcase is usually priced at £229, but while the Prime Day deals are running, it's now available for £101.80, saving you almost £130 and knocking 56% off the price. That also means you could get your hands on two cases for the price of one if you have other family members who are also in need of some new luggage.
The Samonsite suitcase comes in five different sizes, although it's the 'small' version which is currently on sale for £101. Measuring 40cm by 23cm by 55cm, it's just the right size to take as a carry-on case, although it may be a little too large for some budget airlines with super strict guidelines, like Ryanair.
If you do want a carry-on case that definitely fits even Ryanair's restrictions, this Velocity Expandable Cabin Max Suitcase from Cabin Max has been made to fit the exact dimensions of 55cm by 40cm by 20cm, and is available for £50. Alternatively the Aerolite Expandable Suitcase is also the exact measurements required, and is now on sale down from £69.99 to £44.99.
You can however pick up a smaller version of the Samsonite Intuo, not to mention larger options too so you can create a full matching luggage set. The small version, however, also has a deceptively roomy interior with a capacity that reaches up to 48 litres when expanded, and weighs just 2.7kg thanks to its lightweight and scratch-resistant exterior.
The inside also features a fixed divider, two zip pockets and adjustable packing straps to keep everything organised and in place. The case also comes with double wheels which make it easy to manoeuvre, and a TSA008 lock which keeps it secure.

The Samsonite Intuo also has some rave reviews from Amazon shoppers, who have awarded it 4.6 out of 5 stars. One said: 'Very sturdy and lightweight good price definitely recommend this case, just need to travel to test it out now.'
Another agreed: 'Samsonite are the best suitcases. This suitcase is robust, good locking system lightweight. Design great just been on holiday with it Samsonite a few marks Flite suitcase smashed to pieces. Will be buying another Samsonite to get matching pair. Worth paying a little more to get rock solid quality and top top brand.'
A third chimed in: 'Very light, really well made & glides easily, excellent quality.'
One who was less pleased said: 'Lightly built, only reasonable value for money. Easy to pack and rolls easily. Not sure how durable this will be in the longer term.'
Whilst another flagged the Ryanair fit issues, saying: 'Looks great. Quality is unmatched, comfortable to drag around and can hold lots of clothes but is too big for Ryanair standards and only usable with Easyjet. Swapped for smaller size.'
Others were delighted with the Samsonite Intuo though. One reviewer wrote: 'Fabulous case, so roomy and has 2 sides to pack. I put shoes and bags of toiletries in the zipped lid side and clothes in the main compartment. Even the taxi driver liked the way it rolled along so easily despite the weight!'
With someone else adding: 'Great price and delivered in time for my trip. Made the airport hike so much easier with the spinner wheels, huge capacity - had to be careful not to over pack!'

Another European airport is losing all of its Ryanair flights this year
THREE destinations in France are being ditched by Ryanair this winter. Ryanair announced it would be axing flights from three airports in France later this year due to the "astronomical" rise in air tax by the French government. 4 4 Ryanair said in a statement that the decision to stop routes to cities such as Brive, is because of the French government's decision to increase air tax by 180 per cent which they called "astronomical". The airline added: "In response to this government tax, Ryanair will cease operations to Bergerac, Brive, and Strasbourg, and reduce capacity at several other French airports." Ryanair currently operates two flights per week between London and Brive which is the biggest commune in Corrèze, and it's capital is Tulle. Direct flights from London Stansted to Brive will stop after October 24, 2025. But if you manage to visit before then, you can explore local distilleries and even Lamy Chocolate Factory which create sweet treats. Brive has a large food market held three times a week in Georges Brassens Hall with more than 200 sellers where you can pick up lots of tasty local produce. In the winter months, Brive is known for holding traditional winter fairs called Foires Grasses. It also holds Foires Franches, a summer fair which has children's fairground rides, markets, games throughout the town and firework displays. Other destinations that have been axed are Strasbourg, aka the Capital of Christmas. The third destination that Ryanair will no longer fly to is Bergerac. 4 Bosses at this French airport even fear that the terminal could close as a result. Last week, Christophe Fauvel, president of the Dordogne Chamber of Commerce (CCI) explained that Ryanair stopping flights could lead to the closure of Bergerac Airport. Talking to French media, Christophe said: "It is what happens next that worries us. "If Ryanair decides to follow through on its threat and leaves Bergerac for good the airport may face closure". Bergerac Airport estimates that it will lose 18,000 passengers and a seven per cent loss of its annual passenger numbers. Last year, Ryanair pulled its service to Bordeaux Airport – a decision that was finalised in October 2024. In early 2025, the airline also cut its route to Vatry. For anyone going away for the summer, check out this full list of UK airline hand luggage rules for peace of mind. And take a look at this underrated French city that has a 'bit of everything' with picturesque beaches and new cheap hotels.

Jet2 and Ryanair issue stark warning to passengers due to fly this week
The Met Office has issued two weather warnings for Monday, August 4, as the UK is battered by Storm Floris, with Jet2 and Ryanair issuing warnings for passengers due to fly today Jet2 and Ryanair have issued alerts for travellers scheduled to depart today as Storm Floris pounds the UK with fierce winds. The Met Office has put two weather warnings in place for Monday, August 4, with the ferocious wind and rain threatening to put a dampener on school holiday getaways. An amber wind warning has been issued, with it running for 13 hours from 10am today across northern and central Scotland. Gusts are due to reach 50 or 60mph. A yellow alert has also been declared for Northern England, Northern Ireland, North Wales and Scotland with winds of 40 to 50mph predicted, while exposed coastal regions and elevated areas could see gusts hitting 70mph. The warning took effect at 6am today and runs until midnight. The alert has been issued as Brits are warned to keep their windows closed today. Have you had your travel plans impacted by the weather? Email webtravel@ The Met Office cautions that transport, including air travel, may be disrupted by the conditions, "with longer journey times and cancellations possible." Jet2 has confirmed that services should run as planned, but urged customers to allow extra time for airport arrival. In a statement posted online, Jet2 warned: "The Met Office has advised that Storm Floris is expected to bring adverse weather conditions, including strong winds to Northern parts of the UK. "All flights are expected to operate as scheduled, so please ensure you leave plenty of time to arrive at your departure airport. Our check-in opens 2 hours before this time and will close 40 minutes prior to departure time. "If your flight is affected, we will have the later updates here and also via SMS, email and the Jet2 app. You can log into Manage my Booking to ensure your details are correct. We look forward to welcoming you on board." Ryanair has stated that it is "monitoring potential disruptions to flights" and will notify any passengers who may be affected. In a notice posted on its website, Ryanair advised: "Please be advised that we are monitoring potential disruptions to flights to/from the UK on Monday August 4 due to storm Floris. Affected passengers will be notified and any passengers travelling to/from the UK on Monday August 4 should check their Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight. "We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by these weather conditions, which are outside of Ryanair's control and affect all airlines operating to/from the UK on Monday, August 4." If you are unsure if your flight will be delayed or cancelled, check with your airline. For those travelling within the UK today, or taking a train to the airport, there may be disruptions on the rails. Several train operators have issued 'do not travel' notices because of the risk of disruption caused by debris on the line, fallen trees and flooding. Hundreds of trains have been cancelled so fast today, including all services north of Edinburgh and Glasgow from midday. Dozens of ferries have also been cancelled. In Scotland, where the storms are expected to be the strongest, a nationwide speed limit of 50mph has been imposed, which will extend journey times and cause cancellations.
