Seeded at No.4, Hsieh Su-wei and Jelena Ostapenko made easy work of their first three matches at Wimbledon 2025, progressing without dropping a set.
Their biggest challenge so far came when they lost the tiebreak after a tight opening set against Sorana Cirstea and Anna Kalinskaya in the quarter-finals.
But the duo powered back to win the next two 6-3, 6-2, setting up a tantalising showdown with defending champions and top seeds Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend on July 11, 2025.

Who is Frederic Aniere?
Frederic Aniere is the longtime boyfriend of Taiwanese tennis star Hsieh Su-wei.
He grew up in Paris and completed his studies in marketing, before entering the property sector and building a career as an estate agent.
The couple met in 2016 when Su-wei was visiting Paris with her coach.
They were introduced by a mutual friend, who suggested Frederic show her around the city.
What began as a friendly outing with her team soon blossomed into a romantic relationship.
The year after they met, Su-wei told AP: 'In Taiwan we don't have a professional tennis court, so I'm always travelling to somewhere to practice with my coach, and then my friend, last year, she introduced me to her friend.
'She said, 'Oh, I have a friend in Paris — he can take you out for fun,' and then we just go out to eat, with my team, not just me, and then things worked. And now I am living with him in Paris.'
Queen thanks Novak Djokovic for letting her stay in his 'lovely' property in 'private' chat at Wimbledon
Frederic's role in Su-wei's life extends beyond that of just a boyfriend — after about a year of dating, he left his real estate job to travel full-time with his girlfriend, supporting her on the WTA tour.
He has acted as her travelling coach and practice partner at tournaments and Grand Slams.
In 2019, Frederic told WTAtennis.com: '[Su-wei] knows a lot about tennis.'
"She doesn't necessarily need someone to tell her what she has to do, because she knows exactly what she has to do herself.
'I'm just here to give her confidence, to have a good time together, and that's it.
She said, 'Oh, I have a friend in Paris — he can take you out for fun,' and then we just go out to eat, with my team, not just me, and then things worked. And now I am living with him in Paris

'Of course, we talk about tennis, but she knows what she has to do.
"I don't try to understand her all the time. I just let her be herself, but for sure, she's interesting, different from other players.
'She has a different way of working. She likes to play with feeling, and she's like this in life. It's what goes for her."
He added: "She does a lot of yoga, a lot of stretching. She doesn't spend three hours on the court every day.
'If she's stretching and feeling good in the body, maybe she works more on her fitness. When you get older you have to be even more fit and ready.
"We don't push her too much but we put out positive energy, which makes it more fun to go out on the court and practice."
As of July 2025, the couple does not have children.

‘He's so slick' – Willie Mullins' potential next superstar slashed to joint-fav for Cheltenham after ‘impressive' debut

The trainer has already identified his top target CROCKETT ROCKET 'He's so slick' – Willie Mullins' potential next superstar slashed to joint-fav for Cheltenham after 'impressive' debut Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A POTENTIAL Willie Mullins superstar the trainer has dubbed 'so slick' has been slashed for Cheltenham after just one run. The brilliantly-bred Davy Crockett was an easy winner on his hurdles debut at Galway on Monday. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up Bred in the purple, Davy Crockett (Camelot x Annie Power) strikes at short odds in the @Galway_Races Festival opener for for Willie Mullins, Mark Walsh and JP McManus 🥇 — Racing TV (@RacingTV) July 28, 2025 1 Owner JP McManus, left, and trainer Willie Mullins, right, with Mark Walsh after Davy Crockett won well on his hurdles debut at Galway Credit: Sportsfile Sent off just 1-2 under jockey Mark Walsh, Davy Crockett, who is by Guineas and Derby winner Camelot and out of Mullins' awesome Annie Power, won by two-and-a-half lengths. He extended well when out in the clear but still left plenty of room for improvement in the jumping department. Mullins liked what he saw though - and so did bookies, as they cut him to 14-1 joint-fav from as big as 33s for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle. Davy Crockett, who is owned by JP McManus and Susan Magnier and a half-brother to dual Grade 1 winner Mystical Power, heads the market for the Festival opener next March with Mullins' Champion Bumper winner Bambino Fever. While he could revert to the Flat, Mullins confirmed his more immediate future lies over hurdles. And he set out an early target his team will work back from - possibly with a view to rocking up at Cheltenham next March. The Closutton boss told Racing TV: "For a horse only having his second run on a track, he was very good. "He was so slick with his jumping apart from at the second last. "Those novices are so fast, he was going faster than the others and he just missed it. "But he was perfect at the last and he looks a real nice prospect with his pedigree. "I want to plan a path to the (Grade 2) Royal Bond in November. "He's not the biggest horse - not a chasing type - but he looks a real hurdler. "He's more a Flat/hurdle type horse and maybe we could go back on the Flat with him. "But the way he jumped there I'd say he'll make a fine hurdler. "A lot of horses in his position would have thrown in the towel after the sticky jump but he didn't." Gold Cup-winning jockey Walsh was just as complimentary. He said: "He was a bit novicey. We were trapping down to the second last and Davy Crockett got a bit unsighted and just galloped into it. "I loved the way he picked up after that and winged the last. Plenty of improvement likely. "He had been keen in his bumper but settled grand until he got a bit lit up in second half of the race. "He'll learn in time, he's not a big horse but there's an engine in there." More people have gotten to know her in recent years from stunning beach swimsuit photoshoots – the most famous was for Sports Illustrated – than from tennis appearances. Since her heyday, she has faded from the competitive arena and slumped to 1,062 in the world rankings due to inactivity. The 31-year-old chose this event as the best chance to say her proper farewells to the sport – she was given a wildcard by organisers – but she has managed to extend the party for a few more days. 'There were definitely moments where I had to kind of almost block out the noise and just pretend it was a normal point that just happened. 'And just keep going because the crowd was very loud out there, and I really, really appreciated it.' HISTORY MAKER Eleven years ago, Bouchard became the first player to represent Canada to reach a Grand Slam singles final. She was crushed 6-3 6-0 by Czech player Petra Kvitova in the Wimbledon final on Centre Court. That same season she made the semi-finals of the Australian Open and French Open and reached the Last 16 of the US Open. Two years ago, she achieved a career high by helping Canada win the Billie Jean King Cup Final in Seville. Her career has been derailed by inconsistent play and injury, which included a serious shoulder surgery that kept her off the court for 17 months between 2021-2022. There was also a lengthy lawsuit against the United States Tennis Association (USTA) after she suffered a concussion when she slipped and fell in a US Open locker room in 2015. In February 2018, a jury decided Bouchard was partially at fault – it determined the USTA was 75 per cent to blame for the incident, with Bouchard 25 per cent to blame. 6 Bouchard was in great spirits after her win Credit: Getty

Shaughna Phillips reveals unborn baby's gender in first video with jailbird boyfriend

Love Island star, Shaughna Phillips, is expecting her second baby with boyfriend, Billy Webb, who was jailed in 2023 for Class A drug offences Love Island's Shaughna Phillips has revealed the gender of her unborn baby in a new video with boyfriend, Billy Webb. ‌ Shaughna, 31, who shares daughter, Lucia, two, with Webb, revealed the couple were expecting again in June after her boyfriend was allowed a brief home visit while serving a nine-year sentence for Class A drug offences. ‌ The Love Island star never reveals her partner's identity on Instagram and made sure to block out his face as she shared her latest video, filmed in her back garden. Snuggled together with little Lucia alongside them, the couple revealed they were having another girl as their daughter excitedly opened a box to reveal a pink cuddly bunny and a fluffy pink pram suit. ‌ Responding to the adorable clip, Shaughna's famous pals sent their well wishes. Former TOWIE star, Billie Shepherd replied: "Congratulations darling" as Gogglebox's Ellie Warner also congratulated the reality star. Speaking to the Mirror about trying for her second child, Shaughna admitted she planned the pregnancy, even tracking her ovulation to boost her chances of conceiving. ‌ However, she says she was stunned that her baby dream came true so quickly. 'It was the first time that my ovulation window coincided with Billy being home,' the mum-of-one told us. 'I was like, 'You know what? Why not? Let's just see'. And literally, the next day, I said to Billy, 'I think I'm pregnant.'' ‌ Shaughna's gut feeling was confirmed ten days later, when multiple pregnancy tests showed up positive. 'I found out very, very early on,' she exclusively told us. 'I was doing maybe five tests a day. I'm not even exaggerating.' Shaughna said Billy, who was jailed in 2023, is currently allowed out on home visits for 'a few days' each month. And while she has so far been forced to raise her daughter as a single parent, the star says her partner is due for early release and should be reunited with his family in time for their new arrival. 'I know the date that he's due to be home, but I'm not saying it just because anything could happen,' she says carefully. 'But hopefully he will be fully home before my baby is due.' ‌ After missing out on being a hands-on dad first time around, Shaughna is looking forward to having Billy there when the new baby arrives. 'He definitely wanted another one. He didn't get that newborn experience [with Lucia] and I think that's what he wanted,' she shared, joking that she wants Billy to 'experience the newborn stage and everything it has to offer, because he does not know what is coming his way.'
