Cricketer Jasprit Bumrah once wanted to run away with his now wife Sanjana Ganesan but got a hilarious reply

Pink Villa4 hours ago

Cricketer Jasprit Bumrah is known for rattling stumps with precision. But off the field, he almost made a move so audacious it caught even his wife off guard. In a recent episode trailer of Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra's YouTube chat show, Sanjana Ganesan revealed that Bumrah once suggested eloping—an idea she instantly shot down with a cheeky jab about his famously short run-up.
Her amusing account of Bumrah's romantic proposal has quickly sparked interest among fans, especially since the couple had famously kept their relationship private before their 2021 wedding.
The proposal that didn't get off the ground
In the Who's The Boss? Episode 2 trailer, Sanjana shared a hilarious exchange she had with Bumrah before their marriage. She says he had floated the idea of running away to get married instead of organizing a formal wedding, saying 'Let's run, let's elope' in Hindi.
Her witty response came immediately after: 'Tum run-up pe bhi nahi bhagte ho. Tum mere sath kya bhagoge?' (You don't even run during your run-up. So how will you run with me?). The 52 second trailer has since gone viral, letting fans in on a rather light-hearted chapter from the couple's otherwise low-profile romance.
Before tying the knot, Bumrah and Ganesan had kept their relationship quiet. The two got married in a private ceremony in Goa in 2021, attended only by close friends and family. Most Indian teammates missed the wedding due to bio-bubble restrictions during a T20I series in Ahmedabad.
Life after marriage and a growing family
Since their wedding, both have juggled prolific careers: Bumrah as India's pace spearhead, and Ganesan as a sports broadcaster. They were blessed with their son, Angad, in September 2023. Currently, the couple is in England for professional duties.
While Bumrah recently claimed a five-wicket haul in Leeds, Ganesan continues her broadcast work during the Test series. Despite his demanding schedule, Bumrah still manages to surprise—though perhaps not with runaway plans anymore.

Diljit Dosanjh REMOVED From Border 2, Ammy Virk To Replace Him?

Last Updated: Diljit Dosanjh faces backlash for casting Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3, leading to calls for his removal from Border 2. Is Ammy Virk replacing him? Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh is facing the heat for casting Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in his upcoming movie, Sardaar Ji 3. The film will skip release in India, but is slated for release outside the domestic market, including Pakistan. Amidst all this, film bodies are writing to filmmakers, producers, and actors, urging them to drop him from upcoming Hindi releases – the most recent being Border 2. Reportedly, the actor's casting in the film is on shaky grounds amid mounting requests to remove him from the project. Rumours are rife that popular Punjabi singer-actor Ammy Virk might replace him in the film. A source close to Border 2 production told TOI, 'Diljit has only filmed 3–4 scenes so far. The makers are considering replacing him, as it's still early enough to reshoot those portions without much hassle. The team is handling the situation directly, and Ammy Virk's name has come up during internal discussions." With the controversy gaining momentum, insiders suggest that Ammy Virk has now emerged as the top contender to step in. However, repeated attempts to reach out to the film's producer, Nidhi Dutta, went unanswered at the time of publishing. Representatives for both Diljit and Ammy also declined to comment on the matter. However, according to another piece of information obtained by Hindustan Times, there are no current plans to replace Diljit from Border 2. A highly-placed source close to the production said, 'There is no plan to replace or remove Diljit from Border 2. His casting was confirmed nearly nine months ago, long before the recent unfortunate incidents. Nearly half the film has already been shot, and any replacement at this stage would be logistically unfeasible." FWICE writes a letter to Sunny Deol In their letter to Border 2 lead actor Sunny Deol, FWICE wrote, 'We write to you with the deepest respect and admiration for your longstanding service to both the lndian film industry and the nation. Your portrayal of valiant soldiers and national heroes in iconic films Iike Border, Gadar, and lndian has not only entertained but profoundly inspired generations. Your commitment as a public representative further stands as a testament to your patriotic values and unwavering dedication to the country. It is in this light that we express our grave concern regarding your association with Mr. Diljit Dosanjh. in the forthcoming film Border 2. Mr. Dosanjh's recent professional choice to cast Pakistani actress Hania Aamir-who has openly posted anti-lndia content on her social media platforms, especially in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack-has deeply disturbed the sentiments of our industry and the wider national community." It further read, 'The Pahalgam massacre, where innocent civilians, including children, were mercilessly targeted, has left the nation in mourning. While every lndian stands in solidarity against such acts of terror, the decision by Mr. Dosanjh to collaborate with an artist from the very country that continues to breed such violence reflects a shocking disregard for national sentiment. This act violates the directives issued bythe Ministry of Information & Broadcasting as well as the standing resolutions of FWICE, which clearly oppose working with Pakistani nationals in any capacity. Your esteemed presence in a film titled Border 2, which symbolizes national pride and sacrifice, alongside someone who has chosen professional ambition over pattiotism, sends a conflicting and distressing message to the very public that has always viewed you as a symbol of nationalism." 'On behalf of scores of members of our federation and stakeholders across the lndian film industry, we sincerely appeal to you to reconsider your association with Mr. Dosanjh for this project. We are confident that the values you have always uphel d-both on screen and off-will guide you to take a stand in line with the nation,s sentiments. Your decision to disassociate from this collaboration will reaffirm your enduring image as a true patriot and will send a strong message that national interest will always come before individual pursuits." Diljit Dosanjh's response to Sardaarji 3 controversy Diljit Dosanjh recently broke his silence on the controversy and Hania Aamir's casting in the film that was done months before the Pahalgam attack in April. Speaking to BBC Asian Network, the singer said that the project was completed before any of the current political tensions surfaced. 'Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in Feb and then everything was fine. Uske baad, bhut saari badi cheezen humare haath mein nahi hai. Toh producers ne decide kiya ki film obviously ab India toh nahi lagegi, toh overseas release karte hain. Toh producers ka bahut paisa laga hua hai aur jab yeh film bann rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi," he said, adding that the makers are aware they will incur losses. 'Now the situation is not in our hands. So if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them." Meanwhile, the shooting of Border 2 is currently underway in Pune. ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Indian remake happening with Kunal Kemmu at the helm as Jake Peralta: Reports

One of America's most beloved comedy series, 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine', may soon get an Indian remake. According to a recent report by Hindustan Times, early work is underway to adapt the cult classic for Indian audiences — though nothing has been finalised yet. The original show, which aired for eight successful seasons, follows the quirky yet efficient detectives of Brooklyn's fictional 99th precinct. Led by Andy Samberg's hilarious and heartwarming portrayal of Jake Peralta, the ensemble cast has remained a fan favourite for over a decade. The idea of recreating this light-hearted police comedy in an Indian setting has already sparked plenty of curiosity and debate online. As per the report, the Indian version is currently in its very early stages. 'The makers do have a strong desire to bring out the Indian adaptation, but it is at a very nascent stage. Nothing is signed or confirmed yet, and they are still looking out for a platform,' the publication stated. Among the most talked-about rumours is the possibility of actor Kunal Kemmu playing the lead role, Jake Peralta, in the Indian version. Known for his comic timing and expressive screen presence, Kemmu seems like a natural choice to many fans. However, the report makes it clear that this remains speculation. 'The casting of Kemmu is a complete rumour. His name has been discussed amongst the makers due to his impeccable comic timing, but he has not been a part of those discussions yet and nothing has been taken to him,' the report added. The team behind the show has reportedly written a pilot episode and begun shaping the characters to suit an Indian backdrop. Still, with the project being so early in development, viewers may have to wait over a year to see anything on screen — if it all goes according to plan. The original 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine', created by Dan Goor and Michael Schur, earned widespread acclaim not only for its humour but also for tackling serious social themes with sensitivity and wit. With memorable characters like Rosa Diaz, Amy Santiago, Captain Holt, and Gina Linetti, the show has remained a constant on streaming platforms and in pop culture conversations. As anticipation builds, fans in India are hopeful that the new version — if made — will do justice to the original while adding a flavour of its own. For now, all eyes are on official confirmations from the makers, and a platform willing to back what could become a landmark Indian adaptation.
