Special charity golf day being held next week
With 32 golfers taking part in the first charitable day organised by GBSS Civil Engineering Ltd the hope is to raise a four figure sum for The Catherine McEwan Foundation. This is a charity which supports those affected by Inflammatory Bowel Disease, set up in 2003 by Derek McEwan, in memory of his late mother, Catherine.
Providing a range of non-clinical support services, including wellness programmes, scholarship programmes, and community days, The Catherine McEwan Foundation additionally provides mental health support for both children and adults.
Since 2015, GBSS has attended the charity's annual fundraiser, The Red Hot Ball, which the foundation holds in Glasgow to raise vital funds. This year the company took the decision to increase its support for the charity by staging its first ever Charity Golf Day at the local golf club, Glenbervie.
Derek McEwan will attend to offer his support and encouragement to the golfers taking part, a mix of GBSS staff, suppliers, customers, and friends, together with friends and supporters of the charity.
Managing Director of GBSS, David Owens, said;' It's not long now until the first ball will be teed off at inaugural charity golf day. We're all really looking forward to this event, and having encouraged our staff golfers to get involved in teams, we'd like to offer our thanks to everyone taking part, plus the management and staff at Glenbervie. We really appreciate everyone's support, and it's great that Derek is coming along himself too.'

I'm sure it will be a fantastic success, and I look forward to being there on the day.'

"At the same time, she was equally aware of the reassurance and comfort that she could provide to those in a similar predicament," reports Wales Online. "On the afternoon of 14 July, the 15,000 spectators packed inside Wimbledon's Centre Court rose as one to welcome the Princess to the Men's Singles Final of the tennis championships. Many in the crowd were in tears. "It was not just the shy smile on the face of the tennis-loving Princess, thrilled to be at one of her favourite events, that set them off. It was also the fact that a beaming nine-year-old Princess Charlotte was at her side." Kate has since finished her chemotherapy treatment and has begun making additional public outings. However, specifics regarding her cancer diagnosis haven't been revealed. The Duchess of Cambridge attended this year's Women's and Men's Singles Final of the competition, joined by Prince William and kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Before this, there had been speculation about her attendance at this year's Wimbledon fixtures, with suggestions she may skip the Women's Final should a player from Belarus or Russia look set to triumph. Russia remains engaged in conflict with Ukraine, a British ally, whilst Belarus supports Russia - creating a delicate situation should a member of the Royal Family present silverware to a competitor from either nation. Beyond the tennis tournament, attention has turned to Kate's nutrition, with the Princess reportedly incorporating a £1.48 superfood into her daily routine that could help combat inflammation. The superfood being discussed is blueberries, a berry thought to provide numerous wellness advantages. Discussing their effects, Dr Federica Amati explained: " Blueberries are touted as a superfood that we should be consuming every day. The evidence is really good - blueberries are a great fruit to add to your daily diet. True Centre Court royalty! The Waleses lead jubilant Wimbledon fans as they are met with thunderous applause as they make their way to the men's final
The Prince and Princess of Wales were met with a warm welcome from the crowd as they arrived at the Wimbledon men's final this afternoon alongside two of their children. The couple brought Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 10, to watch the final while their youngest, seven-year-old Prince Louis, was not in attendance. Princess Catherine beamed as she wowed in a royal blue gown, while her mini-me daughter smiled and gestured to people below as the family crossed the bridge headed towards the court. Last year also saw Carlos Alcaraz in the final, which he won, beating Novak Djokovic in straight sets. After leaving the court following the trophy ceremony, the princess and Alcaraz had a conversation in a room inside the tournament's main stadium. 'You played so well,' Kate told him.
