Pink Villa3 days ago
Bollywood has seen very few celebrities who have made their mark on the big screen with their work and without controversies, and this celebrity is one of them. In the early '90s, she shared the screen with several superstars, including Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty and Rekha. However, she quit the industry after getting married and pursued a career as a hairdresser. She made a comeback to the screens through Bigg Boss last season. She is the sister-in-law of South superstar Mahesh Babu, and it is none other than Shilpa Shirodkar.
Meet Shilpa Shirodkar
Recently, while speaking with Gauahar Khan on her podcast, Shilpa Shirodkar opened up about her life after marriage when she moved to New Zealand with her husband, Aparesh Ranjit. After stepping away from Bollywood, she decided to take a hairdressing course, feeling it was closely related to her acting career.
Shilpa shared her experience of working in a salon for two months as a hairdresser. However, she found the job to be time-consuming and unsustainable, especially as a newly married woman who wanted to spend time with her husband. Consequently, she decided to leave the job.
After quitting hairdressing, Shilpa applied for several positions and received interview offers on the same day. She accepted a job as a credit controller and worked for a while. Soon after, she got pregnant with her first child and had to focus on her personal life.
Years later, in 2024, Shilpa Shirodkar made her return to the screen with Bigg Boss 18. Her comeback caused headlines as it marked her return to the entertainment industry after many years. On the show, she formed a close bond with Karan Veer Mehra, Chum Darang and Digvijay Rathee. Her bond with Karan Veer and Vivian Dsena was one of the biggest highlights of the season.
Throughout her stint in the show, her sister Namrata Shirodkar and brother-in-law Mahesh Babu rooted for her. After Bigg Boss 18, Shilpa has been doing several brand collaborations and has endorsed brands on social media. She was also diagnosed with COVID-19 recently and recovered within a week.

Ankit Gupta Is Single After Breakup With Priyanka Chahar Choudhary: 'Ready To Mingle'

Ankit Gupta and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary worked together in the show Udaariyaan and then also participated in Bigg Boss 16. Farah Khan has finally revealed that Ankit Gupta is single after his alleged breakup with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary. Recently, the filmmaker paid a visit to the actor's house for her YouTube channel when she was repeatedly seen teasing Ankit for having a 'bachelor pad". Farah further quipped and said, 'He is single and ready to mingle." However, when asked if he was with anyone when he entered Bigg Boss, Ankit Gupta clarified, 'I was alone. I am very clear. If I am alone, I say I am alone but if I am not alone, I wouldn't say I am alone." 'I didn't choose to be on Bigg Boss. I was sent to the show. I was doing Udaariyaan and Sargun (the producer) said they were wrapping it up but had another show for me titled Junooniyatt. That would take 3-4 months to begin. They showed me the contract and I only just knew the name of the show," the actor added, while talking about his Bigg Boss journey. Interestingly, this comes months after Ankit Gupta's alleged breakup with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary made headlines. The two worked together in the show Udaariyaan and then also participated in Bigg Boss 16. Even though they never confirmed their relationship, they were rumoured to be dating each other and reportedly broke up earlier this year. Reacting to his alleged breakup with Priyanka, Ankit previously told Bombay Times, 'Whatever it is, it has always been between two people. It is between two people, and it always will be. We cannot allow, nor do we allow, any third person to get into our… whatever it (equation) is." When asked how he is dealing with the chatter and scrutiny around his private life, he added, 'I don't really give it a thought. Because one thing I know for sure is that I am a public figure and people would always want to know about my life and a certain part of my life I would not be able to hide. No matter what." Is Farah Khan's chef Dilip a 'thief'? 'Main Hoon Na' director reacts as her card is found in his wallet

Farah Khan , the well-known filmmaker and choreographer, along with her long-time assistant Dilip, returned with a fresh and lively YouTube vlog that added a dose of humour and warmth to the day. This time, the spotlight was on their unexpected trip to the residence of television actor Ankit Gupta . Believing Ankit—who openly describes himself as a bachelor—might not have even the most basic cooking tools at home, Farah and Dilip made a spontaneous stop to pick up a tawa, a flat pan used for Indian cooking . At the utensil shop, their signature back-and-forth banter immediately set the tone. Farah, known for her spontaneous wit, playfully debated over buying the pan while Dilip encouraged her to go ahead. Their comical exchange reached a high point when Farah jokingly declared she'd pay using Dilip's salary. In response, Dilip, unfazed, reminded her that she would ultimately cover the cost. Farah continued the mock routine, telling Dilip to handle the payment himself. In a humorous twist, he casually mentioned that he already had her card in his pocket. Startled, Farah quickly turned around and dashed back to the shop, demanding her card be returned. To her shock, Dilip actually pulled it out from his wallet. Amused and mildly exasperated, Farah labeled him a 'thief' in jest, adding another layer of laughter to their friendly repartee. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Skype Phone Alternative Undo 'Oh God, this man!' Unexpected Luxury in Ankit Gupta's Kitchen The comic tone continued as they arrived at Ankit Gupta's apartment, but the assumptions Farah and Dilip had made were quickly proven wrong. Contrary to their expectations, Ankit's home turned out to be quite the opposite of a typical bachelor pad. The space featured a stylish open kitchen and even a dedicated house help named Anjini, ready to assist with their culinary adventure. Together, the trio decided to prepare tawa chicken—a dish whose recipe they had learned just the previous night. The cooking segment was both engaging and heartwarming, blending fun with personal revelations. Ankit's Health Scare and Shift to Vegetarianism During their chat, Ankit opened up about a personal health crisis that changed his lifestyle significantly. He shared how a severe gastric issue led to hospitalization, accompanied by symptoms like palpitations, breathlessness, and elevated blood pressure and sugar levels. The frightening episode felt like being suffocated, prompting him to completely give up non-vegetarian food. Since then, Ankit has adhered strictly to a vegetarian diet for the sake of his well-being. Farah's Bigg Boss Return and Hosting Plans Revealed Meanwhile, on the professional front, Farah Khan is preparing to step into the spotlight again—this time as one of the co-hosts of Bigg Boss 19 . According to Indian Express, she will be joining Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor as part of the new season's rotating hosting team. Salman, reports claim, has committed to the first three months of the show. After his stint concludes, hosting duties will be passed on to celebrities like Farah, Karan Johar, and Anil Kapoor. Insiders suggest that producers are still finalizing whether one of these personalities will continue till the season ends or if they will rotate hosts every two weeks. Longest Bigg Boss Season Yet This upcoming edition of Bigg Boss is slated to be the lengthiest to date, with a runtime extending over five months. Despite the planned changes in hosts throughout the season, Salman Khan is expected to return for the finale episode. As for the official launch, reported that Bigg Boss 19 is likely to premiere during the last weekend of August, specifically on the 29th and 30th. However, the final confirmation from the showrunners is still pending.
