Meghan Markle and Prince Harry £78m Netflix update after show 'flop'
Meghan's wholesome show ranked 383 in the platform's most-watched titles between January and June 2025.
It attracted 5.3million viewers worldwide since it was first broadcast in March and showed Meghan cooking, gardening and hosting A-list pals.

However, it was outperformed by hundreds of lesser-known shows in the first six months of this year including repeats of Meghan's old TV drama, Suits, in which she starred before meeting Harry.
PR expert Dermot McNamara believes Netflix won't sever ties with the Sussexes just yet, as they will want first dibs on that explosive first interview, should the couple ever divorce.
He told The Mirror: "The fairytale narrative has stalled, their creative output hasn't delivered consistent returns and audiences are increasingly sceptical.
"There are only so many chances Netflix can take on them, before they're just wasting money for the sake of it.
'But Netflix knows that if cracks appear, or if the couple split, there'll be global demand for the inside story. That's when their value skyrockets again.'
Dermot believes Netflix will want to be 'at the front of the queue' should the couple eventually go their separate ways.
He said: 'The sense in industry circles is that Netflix haven't cut ties with Harry and Meghan entirely because, frankly, they might be sitting on the most valuable content of all: the fallout.
'Rumours of their Netflix contract not being renewed when it runs out in September is a quiet signal that the platform is no longer banking on them as creative talent, but they're keeping the relationship warm.
"Why? Because if the Sussex marriage ever unravels, it would be the streaming coup of the decade. It's a brutal calculation, but this is Hollywood.'
It is not the first time that Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, have faced rumours that their seven-year marriage is on the rocks.
Last December, Harry addressed the speculation and said it was 'hard to keep up with' the allegations made on social media.
He added: "'Apparently we've bought or moved houses 10, 12 times,' he said at The New York Times' DealBook Summit.
"We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?'
During her first-ever podcast interview on The Jamie Kern Lima Show in April, Meghan was asked if she believes that she and Harry will 'be married forever'.
She said: 'Yes. He's also a fox, if you haven't noticed. My husband's very, very handsome. But his heart is even more beautiful.
"There's something that is not to be taken for granted when you have a partner and a spouse who is just so behind you.
"You know, I mean, H, that man loves me so much. And you know, look what we built. We've built a beautiful life, and we have two healthy, beautiful children [Archie and Lilibet].'

While it's important that every part of a presentation be interesting and relevant, McGowan highlights what psychologists call the primary-recency effect: people tend to remember the first and last items in a sequence better than those in the middle. That's a clue on where compelling stories, challenges, or facts should be in a presentation. To underscore the importance and power of simplicity, McGowan tells of a CEO who was in a media interview about a struggle his company was experiencing. The interviewer asked the CEO, 'Why do you think your IPO underperformed vis-à-vis the other companies in your competitive space?' McGowan says that instead of blaming the market or a poor valuation or even suggesting that they didn't have the right financial institution leading the offering, the CEO simply said, 'We underperformed because we failed to come up with a narrative that could fit on the back of a cocktail napkin.' McGowan used that story to kick off a speech he made to a group of communication clients. Using a 'through line,' the connective tissue that helps explain the relevance of a story, he spoke on the subject of simplicity. Citing research studies, McGowan says factual information embedded within storytelling becomes 22 times more memorable 'than if you just fire hose talking points and data points.' McGowan coaches his clients to communicate the visual, the specific, and the anecdotal. When you speak abstractly and theoretically, it's pictureless, he says. 'We human beings have this movie reel spinning in our heads at all times. If a speaker doesn't give us imagery to work with, that movie reel keeps spinning in our head—only now it's spinning with the images we've created. That's what daydreaming is.' In what ways has the rise of remote work and virtual meetings affected the way people communicate? In addition to what many people now call 'Zoom fatigue,' McGowan talks about 'Zoomnesia.' That occurs when people attend a seemingly endless string of remote meetings in which they're sitting in the same room with the same potted plant on their desk and the same view out the window and with no contextual clues. That circumstance makes it even harder for people to retain information, and it underscores the value of well thought-out communication practices that engage people's thinking. McGowan frequently uses metaphors in his coaching. For example, he talks about what he calls the 'pasta sauce principle.' You put a pot of tomato sauce on the stove and cook it down for about three hours. You then have something with about half the volume but a lot more flavor. 'But it takes time and effort to get that reduction going,' McGowan says. 'The same is true for speaking.' It wouldn't be accurate to say McGowan has written a cookbook. But Speak, Memorably certainly provides the ingredients for welcome servings of appetizing communication. The book also makes other stunning claims about Andrew's sex life and cites a masseuse, Emma Gruenbaum, as saying Andrew was a 'sex pest' from the start. When he booked her for massages, he would insist on being naked and would talk about 'anal sex.' On one occasion, he said to her, 'Hey, nice a--e. Do you take it up the a--e?' Entitled also details Andrew's love of 'humiliating' others. His 'pranks' over the years have included pushing people's faces into plates of pâté and tricking people into squirting mustard into their own faces. On one occasion, he unzipped the back of TV presenter Tania Bryer's dress. Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson reportedly said, 'I'm the last person to be a republican but, f---, if I ever have to spend another lunch like that, I soon will be.' Prince Harry and Prince Andrew come to blows The fight with Prince Harry happened in 2013, Lownie says. Andrew allegedly made a remark behind Harry's back, and Harry called Andrew a 'coward' for not saying it to his face. 'Punches were thrown,' and Harry 'got the better' of his uncle, leaving him with a 'bloody nose.' Andrew also allegedly told Harry he was 'bonkers' for not properly researching Meghan Markle's background and told him the marriage would not last. Lownie writes in the Mail that Andrew 'openly accused Meghan of being an opportunist,' said she was 'too old' for Harry, and said that marrying her would be his 'biggest mistake ever.' A source tells Lownie, 'Harry later told William that he hated Andrew.' The Daily Beast earlier reported that Entitled cites Jeffrey Epstein as having told friends, 'We are both serial sex addicts. He's the only person I have met who is more obsessed with p---y than me.' Epstein also reportedly said of Andrew, 'From the reports I've got back from the women we've shared, he's the most perverted animal in the bedroom. He likes to engage in stuff that's even kinky to me—and I'm the king of kink!' One journalist told Lownie that when Andrew was in Thailand on the crown's behalf celebrating the King of Thailand's diamond jubilee in 2006, more than 40 women were brought to his hotel room in Bangkok, adding, 'Often, as soon as one left, another would arrive.' Journalist Ian Halperin told Lownie the prince has purportedly slept with over 1,000 women, including 'porn stars, actresses, models, athletes, politicians, and bartenders at clubs.' A friend of the prince's noted, 'Sex is his big thing in life. Traveling all over the world as the U.K. trade ambassador and for other royal duties has given him access to some beautiful women, and he's taken full advantage.' Andrew was forced to resign his royal position after Virginia Giuffre alleged that, when she was 17, Epstein trafficked her to him for sex. Giuffre and Andrew later settled a civil case for an undisclosed sum. Andrew was stripped of all royal patronages by his mother in 2022, eight months before her death. The Daily Beast has contacted Prince Harry's office for comment. Prince Andrew no longer has media representation, but a communications professional who previously worked for him was contacted for comment.
