Kalimat Group launches 'A World of Stories' initiative

The MoU, signed by Ahmad Al Ali, General Manager of KG, and Hassan Atia, General Business Manager of Nestlé UAE, marks the launch of an initiative that will provide thousands of books and educational resources designed to enrich the learning experience within healthcare environments.
Each library will contain 30 books, covering educational themes such as strengthening immunity through healthy nutrition, developing positive eating habits, understanding hunger and satiety cues, exploring the relationship between food diversity and appetite, and highlighting the importance of varied food sources. The collection will also support the development of positive thinking and self-directed learning, as well as other awareness-focused topics. In addition, tablet devices featuring digital educational content will be provided to broaden children's horizons and encourage engagement with modern learning methods.
A vision brought to life
Commenting on the new partnership, Ahmad Al Ali, General Manager of KG, said: "This initiative reflects KG's strategic vision and commitment to empowering children and enhancing their access to education and knowledge, particularly in environments affected by health or social challenges. We believe that books are essential companions in a child's journey towards healing and development. Through our ongoing initiatives, we strive to deliver educational and human-centred content that supports children in overcoming adversity and promotes their mental and emotional well-being through reading and learning."

For his part, Hassan Atia, General Business Manager of Nestlé UAE, said: "At Nestlé, we are driven by our purpose of unlocking the power of food to enhance quality of life for everyone, today and for generations to come. This partnership with Kalimat Group, supported by the Ministry of Health and Prevention, brings our mission to life in a meaningful way, by supporting children through stories that educate, and inspire them to lead healthier lives.'
Atia added: "Beyond this initiative, we continue to invest in long-term programs that promote healthier lives, such as our Mom&Me platform, which provides guidance to mothers during the critical early years of parenting, and Ajyal Salima, our school-based nutrition education program developed in collaboration with health authorities and academic partners.'
National support and social innovation
KG's latest initiative stands as a model of social innovation, built on collaboration between the cultural and private sectors. It reinforces national efforts to create an integrated educational and cultural environment within hospitals. MUSCAT: Oman has taken a significant step in strengthening its global food security and expanding its agricultural commodities footprint with the acquisition of a controlling interest in Agribrasil, a leading Brazilian grain exporter, by ME Solaris Commodities Holding (Solaris) — a company majority-owned by the Sultanate of Oman's sovereign wealth fund. The agreement, signed on July 28, 2025, includes the acquisition of a controlling stake in Humberg Agribrasil Comércio e Exportação de Grãos SA (Agribrasil) and the Santa Catarina grain terminal (TESC). Solaris also entered into separate agreements to acquire additional minority interests in TESC. The deal, which is pending regulatory approval, is expected to close by the end of this year. In an official announcement by Agribrasil, the company described Solaris as one of the world's top five wheat traders and a key player in the global agricultural commodities market. It said the investment would allow Solaris to enter the Brazilian corn and soybean markets, gain strategic access to port logistics infrastructure, and diversify its commodity portfolio — all while contributing to global food security objectives. Solaris's entry into the Brazilian agricultural market underscores Oman's growing ambition to secure reliable sources of food and diversify its economy in line with Oman Vision 2040. The investment secures a long-term foothold in Latin America's leading grain-producing nation and strengthens trade links with key markets in the Middle East, including Oman itself. Agribrasil, which ranks among Brazil's top five grain exporters, posted a strong performance in the first quarter of 2025, selling over 1.016 million tonnes of grain — a 75% increase from the same period last year. The company's net income soared by 302% to BRL 1.361 billion. Its exports are heavily focused on corn and soy, with 97% of its sales destined for international markets. The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, including Oman, accounted for 58% of Agribrasil's exports. According to Frederico Humberg, Agribrasil's founder and current stakeholder, the transaction will enhance the company's global reach and reinforce its commitment to supply stability. This move is part of a broader trend among Gulf countries investing in overseas agribusinesses to safeguard against supply disruptions and ensure long-term food security. You've heard before that sustainability is fundamental to business growth, we are at a critical point in time and even marketing can play its part. This continues to be true, and the widespread adoption of sustainable marketing that we are seeing is set to profoundly and permanently transform the Middle East's industry. Fundamentally, the goal is to shift a change in consumer behaviour towards more responsible consumption and deeper, values-aligned brand connections. This, in turn, drives significant industry-wide shifts. Firstly, it accelerates product and supply chain innovation. The demand for sustainable products necessitates eco-friendly materials, ethical sourcing, and the implementation of circular economy models like take-back schemes or on-demand manufacturing to minimise waste. Local production gains momentum, further reducing transportation emissions. Secondly, digital marketing is evolving to minimise its own environmental footprint. This includes prioritising energy-efficient web services, optimising content to reduce data storage, and shifting from physical to digital marketing materials. Thirdly, the market is witnessing the emergence and growth of entirely new eco-friendly sectors, from organic cosmetics and sustainable fashion to eco-tourism and green banking services. Companies authentically embracing sustainability will find new avenues for growth and diversification. Finally, there will be an increased emphasis on transparency and accountability. Companies will face pressure to provide verifiable sustainability reports and impact statements, fostering a culture where genuine commitment, not just rhetoric, defines success. This overall transformation aligns deeply with the national visions of GCC countries, supporting their goals for economic diversification, environmental preservation and social progress. Incorporating sustainability beyond carbon reduction While carbon reduction remains a critical aspect of sustainability, effective sustainable marketing extends beyond this single focus by embracing a holistic approach aligned with the United Nations' (UN's) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Marketers can broaden their impact by considering the social and governance dimensions of sustainability. Holistic SDG alignment in campaign execution: To authentically support the UN's SDGs that a brand has committed to, marketing teams must ensure that campaign execution – including media placement and advertising choices – reflects those same values. This means deliberately running ads on platforms, websites, and media networks that actively support or promote the same SDGs. For example, a brand aligned with SDG 4 (quality education) could prioritise ad buys on educational content platforms or publications that champion equitable access to learning. Brands committed to SDG 5 (gender equality) or SDG 10 (reduced inequalities) might choose to advertise on media that uplifts underrepresented voices, avoids exploitative content and maintains inclusive editorial standards. Similarly, environmentally focused brands supporting SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production) can ensure their campaigns appear on sites with verified sustainability practices, ethical content guidelines or climate reporting initiatives. Aligning media partnerships with the brand's SDG values not only strengthens campaign credibility but also amplifies impact by directing resources toward like-minded ecosystems, reinforcing a values-driven marketing strategy from end to end. Authenticity and transparency: To avoid greenwashing, marketers must ensure all sustainability claims are specific, measurable, and verifiable. This involves publishing comprehensive sustainability reports, clearly outlining achievements and challenges, and engaging in honest storytelling that reflects the brand's genuine journey. Trust is built through actions, not just words. Educating and empowering consumers: Marketing campaigns can serve as powerful tools for consumer education, raising awareness about critical environmental and social issues. By informing consumers about their choices' impact and providing easy alternatives, marketers empower them to make more sustainable decisions. This could involve highlighting circular models, promoting product longevity or explaining ethical sourcing. Sustainable campaign execution: Beyond the message, the medium matters. Marketers can implement sustainable practices within their own operations. This includes prioritising digital-first content to minimise physical waste, utilising renewable or recycled materials for print campaigns, and optimising digital assets (e.g., smaller image sizes, efficient email campaigns) to reduce energy consumption. Event planning should also prioritise sustainability, from reusable materials to carbon offsetting travel. Stakeholder collaboration: Sustainable marketing is a collective endeavour. Marketers should actively engage all stakeholders – employees, suppliers, customers, and local communities – in their sustainability initiatives. This fosters a shared sense of responsibility and leverages diverse perspectives to create more impactful and authentic campaigns. In conclusion, the shift towards sustainable marketing represents a profound evolution for the industry, particularly in the Middle East. It is driven by informed consumers, ambitious national agendas and the inherent benefits of ethical business practices.
