Turkey, fearing attacks from Israel, deploys THIS air defense system across the country, its name..., Iron Dome is..., features include...
New Delhi: Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdogan-led government has decided to increase the country's air defense. The Turkish government is planning to expand the Steel Dome System multi-layered air defense system in the country by the end of this year. The plan includes increasing missile systems, aircraft, warships, tanks and unmanned systems. That is, along with the land, Turkey will also secure its maritime area with its Steel Dome so that possible air attacks can be dealt with. When was it planned?
This decision has been taken by Turkey just after the 12-day war between Iran and Israel. Erdogan had expressed concern over the missile and drone attacks carried out by Israel and Iran on each other. After expressing concern over the Israeli attacks, Erdogan has now shown confidence in the Steel Dome Air Defense to strengthen the country's air security. What is Steel Dome?
According to sources in the Turkish Defense Ministry, on Thursday, June 26, Turkey has planned to expand the multilayer air defense system across the country by investing in its air defense system Steel Dome' Turkey has also crossed NATO's target of 2 percent defense expenditure. The Defense Ministry has said that Turkey, the second largest army in the NATO alliance, has increased investment in the defense industry. US President Donald Trump has asked NATO countries to increase defense spending.
Turkey announced last year to move forward on the Steel Dome multi-layered air defense system. This system works by integrating with many platforms. It will be network-centric and will cover vast areas of Turkey's airspace through AI. Steel Dome will have four layers, which will deal with very short range, short range, medium range and long range threats. Turkey's Steel Dome system thwarts enemy country's attacks in the sky itself. What is Steel Dome capable of?
Turkey has designed Steel Dome to counter all types of air threats such as rockets, missiles and drones. It has long-range radars, sensors and multi-layered defense capabilities. Steel Dome is not a single system but an integrated air defense system (IADS). Which works by combining various components for better effectiveness.
Steel Dome uses state-of-the-art sensors, interceptors and directed energy weapons – such as Alka and Gokberk systems. This system is capable of identifying long-range threats, such as fighter jets, ballistic missiles and drones. One of its major features is its modern software and Artificial Intelligence powered system. These enable it to be active immediately and make data analysis and decisions. Steel Dome Vs Iron Dome
Turkey's Steel Dome is said to be even better and technologically advanced than Israel's Iron Dome system, which is famous all over the world for intercepting and destroying enemy missiles in the sky. Apart from this, it also stops attacks like drones in the sky.

Odisha CM, Law Minister must resign for Rath Yatra chaos, mismanagement, demands BJD
Bhubaneswar, June 28 (UNI) Coming down heavily on the BJP-led Odisha Government for the "chaos and glaring mismanagement" during the observance of Rath Yatra at Puri, the Opposition BJD today said Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan should own moral responsibility for the lapses and resign. The BJD also demanded the government must immediately disclose the official number of deceased and injured persons in the stampede that occurred. Stating that this year's Rath Yatra witnessed unprecedented disorder and mismanagement, BJD Vice President Pratap Jena said the spiritual emotions of millions of devotees who travelled from across the country and abroad to witness the divine Trinity have been deeply hurt. The government's assurance of a flawless Rath Yatra turned out to be "nothing more than an empty promise", he said. Pointing out the chaos in observance of the festival of the revered deities, he said Lord Jagannath's Nandighosha chariot did not move an inch until late evening, in "a serious breach of tradition". The chariots of Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra too failed to cross the Balagandi Chhak. Despite there being no provision to pull chariots after sunset, the chariot of Lord Jagannath was dragged forward by a few feet at 7:45 PM, only to symbolically fulfill ritual protocol — a move that hurt the religious sentiments of devotees, the senior BJD leader Jena said. Ironically both the Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan shied away from the responsibility by casually saying, 'it happened according to the Lord's will.' BJD strongly condemned "such irresponsible statements" and reminded the state government that it is their duty to conduct the Rath Yatra with discipline and dignity. Despite holding valid passes, journalists were denied entry into the cordon zone and were manhandled by police personnel assigned to cordon duty. Nearly seven–eight senior journalists were injured during this incident, he rued. He also stated that even with a large police presence, devotees were left unsafe during the chariot pulling, and the traffic system completely collapsed. With over 1,000 injuries reported, at least eight individuals were admitted to ICU, and reports of two or more deaths have surfaced, he said. He demanded the state government must immediately disclose the official number of deceased and injured persons. BJD further blamed the government's reckless distribution of record-high cordon passes for the chaos. Approximately 10,000 cordon passes were issued this year, many of which were distributed through party workers. Shockingly, two ministers alone issued 6,000 passes, leading to uncontrolled crowds breaching the cordon, significantly delaying the chariot pulling. Before the Yatra began, during the Anasara period, there were reports that a few Modak which were offered to the Lord were stolen. Notably, during last year's Rath Yatra, Lord Balabhadra's idol had fallen during the Pahandi ceremony, an incident that emotionally affected devotees worldwide. Till date, no report has been made public to that effect even after a year. UNI XC RN

Let Bibi go: Trump slams Israeli prosecutors over Netanyahu's corruption trial
US President Donald Trump once again lashed out at Israeli prosecutors over the ongoing corruption trial of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, warning that it could undermine sensitive negotiations with both Hamas and a post on Truth Social, Trump strongly defended Netanyahu and criticised the legal proceedings as politically motivated and damaging to regional diplomacy:'It is terrible what they are doing in Israel to Bibi Netanyahu,' Trump wrote, describing the Israeli leader as 'a War Hero, and a Prime Minister who did a fabulous job working with the United States to bring Great Success in getting rid of the dangerous Nuclear threat in Iran.'advertisement 'Importantly, he is right now in the process of negotiating a Deal with Hamas, which will include getting the Hostages back,' Trump US President also mocked the charges against Netanyahu, which include receiving gifts such as cigars and champagne, dismissing them as trivial.'How is it possible that the Prime Minister of Israel can be forced to sit in a Courtroom all day long, over NOTHING (Cigars, Bugs Bunny Doll, etc.). It is a POLITICAL WITCH HUNT, very similar to the Witch Hunt that I was forced to endure.'"This travesty of 'Justice' will interfere with both Iran and Hamas negotiations,' Trump claimed. 'In other words, it is INSANITY doing what the out-of-control prosecutors are doing to Bibi Netanyahu.''The United States of America spends Billions of Dollar a year, far more than on any other Nation, protecting and supporting Israel. We are not going to stand for this.'advertisementHe concluded his message with a call to allow Netanyahu to focus on leadership rather than legal battles.'We just had a Great Victory with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu at the helm — And this greatly tarnishes our Victory. LET BIBI GO, HE'S GOT A BIG JOB TO DO!'This marks the second time in recent days that Trump has publicly criticised the trial. His comments align with Netanyahu's supporters, who argue that the proceedings are politically driven and poorly timed, especially amid escalating regional tensions and ongoing negotiations involving Gaza and ARE THE CHARGES AGAINST NETANYAHU? Netanyahu faces accusations of accepting lavish gifts, including expensive cigars and champagne, from a billionaire Hollywood producer in exchange for advancing the producer's business interests. He is also alleged to have promoted favourable regulatory changes for media moguls in return for positive coverage of himself and his he denies any wrongdoing. In the run-up to his court date, Netanyahu revived familiar pre-war rhetoric against law enforcement, describing the investigations as a witch hunt. He denies the charges and has pleaded not guilty.- EndsTune InMust Watch

Iran partially reopens airspace for overflights after ceasefire with Israel
Iran has partially reopened its airspace to international overflights following a ceasefire agreement with Israel that ended 12 days of intense conflict. The country's Ministry of Roads and Urban Development announced on Saturday that central and western air corridors are now open for international transit flights after comprehensive safety and security assessments conducted by the Civil Aviation Organization (CAO)."In addition to the eastern half of the country's airspace being available for domestic, international and overflight operations, the airspace over the central and western parts of the country has now also been opened only for international overflights," said Majid Akhavan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, in a statement quoted by IRNA and reported by this marks a key step toward restoring regional air traffic, restrictions remain in place. Flights to and from airports in the northern, southern, and western regions of Iran, including Tehran's major hubs, Mehrabad and Imam Khomeini International Airports, are still suspended until further notice. These airspace areas will remain closed at least until 14:00 local time (10:30 GMT), the CAO confirmed. The announcement follows the earlier reopening of Iran's eastern airspace on Wednesday for both domestic and international flights, including overflights. Operational airports now include Mashhad, reportedly targeted during the Israeli strikes, and Chabahar in the Akhavan, spokesperson for the Roads and Urban Development Ministry, emphasized that while the eastern, central, and western skies are now accessible for overflight operations, the public should avoid traveling to airports within the restricted zones. He urged residents and travelers to stay updated through official government had fully closed its airspace on June 13 in response to a wave of Israeli airstrikes on Tehran and other areas, followed by retaliatory missile launches. The closure disrupted several key air corridors linking Asia, the Middle East, and reopening of selected airspace sectors is expected to relieve pressure on global flight routes, particularly those essential for long-haul travel between European and Asian destinations.- EndsWith inputs from AFPTune InMust Watch
