After Ashish Chanchlani posted a romantic photo with Elli AvrRam, the actress became the target of sexist trolling online.
Actress Elli AvrRam is back in the spotlight, but this time it's not for a film or a red-carpet appearance. The buzz began after popular YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani posted a cozy photo with her on his social media, captioned simply, 'Finally ❤️."
The intimate frame and cryptic caption immediately sent fans and followers into a spiral of speculation, with many interpreting it as a soft launch of their relationship. The two have been spotted together at various public events recently, but this post fanned the flames of dating rumours like never before.
While a section of the internet assumed it could be a teaser for an upcoming collaboration between the two, the tone of the post—and the red heart emoji—hinted at something more personal. Unfortunately, what began as intrigue quickly gave way to a darker side of the internet, as Elli became the target of intense and misogynistic trolling.
Indian men trolling Ashish for Elli AvrRam's body count—bruh, y'all gonna end up with a 5ft Indian lady who comes with a moustache, shaggy skin, sasta white lady vibes, and the same body count. When both gold and stone are in the dirt, any mentally stable human picks gold https://t.co/xmuXOHXXnM — KARNA (@S_Karna002) July 13, 2025
Several users began commenting on her so-called 'body count," a crude term often used to refer to the number of sexual partners a person has had—typically used to police and shame women.
One comment falsely claimed that Elli's 'body count" was 35 and warned Ashish to 'be cautious." This set off a chain reaction of regressive, sexist commentary on social media platforms. However, not everyone joined the pile-on. In fact, many netizens swiftly came to Elli's defense, calling out the disturbing mindset behind such comments. One user wrote, 'Indian men trolling Ashish for Elli AvrRam's body count—bruh, y'all gonna end up with a 5ft Indian lady who comes with a moustache, shaggy skin, sasta white lady vibes, and the same body count. When both gold and stone are in the dirt, any mentally stable human picks gold."
Another chimed in with, 'The ones trolling Elli AvrRam's body count are the same people who've never had sex but act like relationship experts. Why does someone's past bother you more than your own future? If Ashish is happy, that's what matters."
While Elli AvrRam has yet to respond to the criticism, she is no stranger to navigating online toxicity with grace and silence. Born on July 29, 1990, Elli is currently 34 years old, while Ashish Chanchlani, born December 8, 1993, is 31. The age gap between them—3 years and 4 months—was also highlighted by some users, though it was largely drowned out by the more aggressive commentary around her personal life.

Ramayana budget is Rs 4000 crore: Namit Malhotra calls Ranbir Kapoor, Yash starrer 'Greatest epic'

Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is making buzz for its grandeur, scale, exceptional star cast, and massive production budget. Contrary to all the speculations about its budget, Producer Namit Malhotra has broken his silence and revealed how much he is investing in it. In a recent podcast with Prakhar Gupta, Namit Malhotra talked about how Ramayana is his lifetime project. When he was quizzed about its production cost, he revealed it to be more than Rs 4000 crores for both the installments together. The producer said, 'Budget-wise, it was like…everybody thought I'm a lunatic because no Indian film by a long distance comes close to it. To put it simply, it will be like 500 million dollars by the time we are done on both films put together- Part One and Part Two, which is over Rs 4000 crores.' Namit went on to add, 'I say it like we are making the largest film in the world for the greatest story, the greatest epic that the world should see.' He further expressed that he still believes that he is producing a big movie at a cheap cost, when compared to Hollywood movies. 'And I still think it's cheaper than some of the big Hollywood films. So I think we're making a bigger film at a lower cost. For me, it's not a money-driven thing, honestly,' added Namit Malhotra. About Ramayana Cast and Crew For the unversed, Ramayana is a two-part cinematic spectacle that stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Yash as Ravana, and many other incredibly talented actors. The makers are in talks with a Hollywood studio to distribute the movie across the world.

Saroja Devi symbolised sartorial elegance, says tinsel town

Bengaluru: The weather had turned gloomy as the Kannada film industry mourned the loss of yet another actor whose immense contributions to Indian cinema is unforgettable. .B Saroja Devi was born in Bengaluru in 1938 and began her career as an actor with the Kannada movie 'Mahakavi Kalidasa' in 1955. .The Kannada film fraternity fondly remembered memories with the actor. .Actor Jaggesh recalled Saroja Devi sending him mangoes from her farm and helping her revive the lotus pond in her house. .When he once asked her how she handled so many movies, she said she would shoot for one movie from 9 am to 1 pm. After a small break, she would again shoot from 2 pm to 6 pm, with the final session from 7 pm to 12 am..'She had great popularity in Tamil Nadu. Even today, when someone walks stylishly, people associate it with Saroja Devi's walk,' he said..'Saroja Devi was someone who acted alongside all super stars of India. Especially her movies with MGR in Tamil and with Rajkumar in Kannada are unforgettable,' he shared. In 'Puttamalli' (1995), Malashri and Saroja Devi appeared on screen together. Malashri described the moment as 'a dream come true'. 'She was a real lady superstar. I used to be a big fan when I was young and would try all her dance movements and expressions,' she added. .The two then went on to become close friends. 'Sitting with her is always a learning experience. She would share about her experiences from shooting back in her days, about make-up, costumes, shooting timings… She would always talk about how having passion for cinema is important,' Malashri recalled. .'She had an aura. When she walked into the room, all eyes moved to her. Saroja Devi also had a unique walking style. Another thing I admired about her is that she had a new look in every movie'. .'Talking to her was like reminiscing about the history of south Indian film industry,' said senior journalist Pratibha Nandakumar, who wrote a biography of the actor for Sudha weekly, DH's sister publication. .'The kind of characters she played, the actors she acted with, the directors, production houses, it was an amazing experience to listen to her. She is the only one who has received Dr Rajkumar award in Karnataka, NTR award in Andhra Pradesh and MGR award in Tamil Nadu. This cannot be repeated,' she said. .'Nadodi Mannan' to 'Arasa Kattalai': The iconic MGR-Saroja Devi then decided to publish a book about Saroja Devi and again met her for close to a month to document the events after the initial publication in recalled a huge corridor-like walk-in wardrobe in the actor's house in Malleswaram..'All her saris with their matching petticoats and blouses were neatly hung. It was so orderly even after 20 years. Her room looked like it belonged to a queen. Her mother had always made sure she had all the luxuries,' Pratibha said. .While working with K V Anand for 'Maattrraan' (2012), Pratibha recalled the team was looking for an item for an auction scene, that could also come across as funny and could connect with the Tamil audience..'After a lot of thinking, Anand said let's have Saroja Devi kondai (hair bun). The Tamil people are very fond of Saroja Devi. Just imagine, people from Kannada, Tamil and Telugu, each one claiming her to be theirs. I find that very fascinating. You don't find that kind of stardom anymore,' she shared. .'She was a true legend. She was also intelligent about her finances and lived like a queen till the end,' Pratibha concluded. .Actor-politician Sumalatha Ambareesh, speaking to the media, said she will 'miss the affectionate attitude of Saroja Devi'..'She was undeniably a big star, but never carried the air of her popularity. She treated Ambareesh like her younger brother. Her genuine personality was truly inspirational,' she added. .Filmmaker Yogaraj Bhat said 'artistes never die'. He reflected on how their faces, voices and the many characters they played can still be seen on the screen and remain with us for eternity. 'That's the power of art,' he added.
