Seven-member committee to draft HSGMC budget for 2025–26: Jhinda
The decision to form this committee was taken unanimously by the General House after the proposed Rs 104 crore budget was rejected due to significant gaps and the omission of several key points.
The new committee will include representatives from the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), and the HSGMC's own auditor to ensure financial transparency. Jhinda also stated that audits will be conducted for the periods of 2014–2020, which was under his previous leadership, followed by the remaining years.
To maintain accountability, all gurdwaras under HSGMC's jurisdiction have been directed to display their monthly expenditures and financial records publicly on notice boards, ensuring the Sikh congregation has access to all financial information.
Baljit Singh Daduwal, Chairman of HSGMC's Dharam Prachar Committee, expressed strong objection to a government advertisement that referred to Baba Banda Singh Bahadar as "Veer Banda Bairagi".

The Deputy CM emphasized that with the widespread concretization of Mumbai's roads, innovative and non-destructive methods should be adopted. The decision was welcomed by the Chairman of the Brihanmumbai Public Ganeshotsav Coordination Committee, Advocate Naresh Dahibhavkar, who expressed public gratitude to Deputy CM Shinde.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has said it objected to the dissemination of inaccurate information related to Gurbani, Sikh history, and Gurmat through artificial intelligence (AI) platforms. Responding to complaints from various members of the Sikh community, the SGPC has sent emails to various AI service providers requesting corrective action. The platforms contacted by the SGPC include ChatGPT, DeepSeek, Grok, Gemini AI, Meta, Google, VEO 3, Descript, Runway ML, Pictory, Magisto, InVideo, DALL·E 2, MidJourney, DeepAI, and others. SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami stated that the content generated by some AI tools, including altered images and interpretations, has caused concern within the community. He said that the Sri Guru Granth Sahib is the central religious scripture of Sikhism, and its content must not be changed. He further claimed that some AI tools are producing modified versions of Gurbani, which he described as a serious issue. According to Dhami, the SGPC has received multiple objections regarding such content and has formally asked the platforms involved to stop publishing or generating such material. He also noted that some AI-generated outputs misrepresent Sikh religious figures, texts, and symbols, which may affect how younger generations understand Sikh history and principles. He added that some Gurbani-related mobile applications are also presenting text in an incorrect form. The SGPC has taken action against certain apps and plans to continue addressing the issue. Dhami called on individuals and organisations working in the technology field to support efforts aimed at preventing the spread of incorrect content. He also urged the Sikh community to avoid relying on such platforms and to consult established historical sources for learning. In addition, Dhami has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, requesting government intervention and the formulation of a policy to regulate such activities.

The Save University Campaign Committee submitted a memorandum to the governor, seeking urgent steps to reclaim the land, which the CPM allegedly encroached upon for setting up AKG Centre. According to land revenue records, AKG Centre is functioning in 55 cents of revenue land, adjacent to the Kerala University Senate House campus. The Kerala University vice-chancellor is expected to present the land encroachment matter at the next syndicate meeting and submit a report to the governor. It was former chief minister A K Antony who sanctioned 15 cents of land to the CPM for setting up a research centre. However, AKG Centre could obtain a Thiruvananthapuram corporation number and it pays Rs 10.5 lakh as property tax. SUCC, in its memorandum to the governor, claimed that AKG Centre was able to obtain a corporation permit using political influence. SUCC alleged that the entire 55 cents of land under the custody of AKG Centre belonged to Kerala University. Although Antony and the university syndicate decided to grant 15 cents each to AKG Centre, the CPM failed to claim the ownership of the land legally. Further, it encroached on more university land. "If the governor fails to take steps to reclaim the land from AKG Centre, SUCC will initiate legal proceedings," said the committee chairman R S Sasikumar. Meanwhile, the vice-chancellor met governor on Thursday and appraised him of the developments in the university.
