Beauty consumers embrace authenticity and that includes links with experts who really have something to say. So it's interesting that Zalando is partnering with beauty expert Sophie Carbonari for the launch of its new Insider's Edit format.
The 'A-list celebrity facialist' is the first to feature in the Insider's Edit – the e-tailer's new 'expert-led beauty series providing consumers with advice and educational content'.
Virginie Duigou, head of Beauty Buying, explained: 'Our customers are looking for more than just beauty products, they're seeking guidance, authenticity, and purpose. Sophie brings deep expertise, cultural relevance, and a remarkable ability to educate and inspire. Her perspective strengthens our mission to deliver beauty that reflects modern lifestyles and celebrates diverse identities.'
She's a Paris-based skin specialist who offers an insight to her personal skincare routine. And Zalando will continue the Insider's Edit format throughout 2025 featuring European beauty experts and providing professional advice across various categories.
The shoppable format features a curated selection of her hero beauty products and a closer look at her minimalist skincare routine.
Zalando said Carbonari 'has quietly become one of the most trusted hands in beauty, working behind the scenes with some of the most photographed faces in the world. Celebrated for redefining facial care with her intuitive, skin-first approach, Sophie's Edit shares a relatable skincare routine, with pro insights and techniques combined with products from coveted beauty brands at Zalando'.
Carbonari herself said her edit is 'both accessible and results-driven, designed to inspire and guide customers in building a beauty regimen that truly works for them'.
The e-tailer cited its recent research that showed 'consumers are entering a new chapter of beauty – one defined by balance, not perfection. From 'energy resets' and 'minimalist routines' with a focus on products that soothe as much as they perform, the emphasis is shifting to how beauty makes people feel, not just how it makes them look'.
And it added that Carbonari's philosophy mirrors this: 'Her approach supports restorative beauty as a daily ritual, prioritising internal calm and barrier health. Her curation reflects a growing consumer desire for beauty that's intuitive, multi-functional, and self-affirming — not performative.'

This June, Saucony built on five years of B2B presence in the city by launching a four-day public pop-up on Rue du Temple, featuring a customization workshop and a matcha bar. The event, titled 'Syn Space,' unfolded over four days and featured two evening parties, a podcast recording, a meet-and-greet with New York designer Jae Tips—marking his sixth collaboration with the brand—and a group run in partnership with Minted New York. Saucony also presented its Fall/Winter 2025 collection to the public. 'From a commercial perspective, we're extremely pleased. We've never had so many meetings with fashion and lifestyle retailers from Europe, Asia, and the U.S.,' said Cameron Black, vice president of EMEA at Saucony. 'This is the result of two years of groundwork. The running industry is booming, and everyone is trying to secure market share. It's an exciting time—for the industry, sport, and running culture overall.' He continued: 'More brands are investing in this space and creating strong consumer moments. That competition pushes us to innovate. We're targeting a younger demographic with outstanding products that bridge lifestyle and performance. We're positioned right at the intersection of both worlds.' Saucony is steadily expanding its lifestyle offering with new models like the Guide 7 and Omni 9, helping the brand diversify between mainstream sports retailers and independent fashion boutiques. Its premium Silo line, introduced last season, caters to a curated list of high-end multibrand stores with around 20 points of sale globally. At the crossroads of performance and style, the Endorphin Azura—set to launch in early 2026—is central to this strategy. This repositioning appears to be paying off. Following a dip in sales last year due to the brand's strategic pullback from certain retailers, Saucony saw a 31% increase in revenue for the first quarter ending in April, totaling $130 million at constant currency. Founded in Pennsylvania in 1898, the brand is now aiming to solidify its European presence. London served as a testing ground, where Saucony increased brand awareness by sponsoring the city's 10K race and building ties with local running communities. The brand recently opened its first European flagship in London's Covent Garden—spanning nearly 350 square meters. 'We opened on one of the most attractive streets in Europe. But it's not just four walls and products,' said Black. 'Our approach is deeply rooted in community. Alongside our London 10K sponsorship, we're relaunching the Shoreditch 10K this autumn, with 10,000 runners expected. The store will host daily runs and events and also serve as a bib pick-up hub. The space tells our story through curved walls, textured finishes, and lighting that evolves throughout the day—all inspired by the Saucony Creek river that shaped our logo.' That same experience-driven, heritage-focused concept is expected to roll out in Paris. 'Two years ago, we identified a key-city strategy. London was our first test—and it worked,' Black explained. 'Now we've activated our second key city—Paris—and momentum is clearly building.' In December, Saucony will partner with the Eiffel Tower 10K race and is working closely with organizers to amplify the event. 'But it's not just about races,' said Black. 'In London, we took over a three-story townhouse in Soho to explore '80s culture. In Paris, we've already hosted Fashion Week events and, in February, brought together runners from across the globe for an underground race—the Saucony Maze.' These high-impact activations are designed to boost brand desirability in the months ahead—especially as the running market in France grew by around 10% last year. Could a Paris flagship be next? 'We're quite confident about opening in 2026,' Black smiled. 'It'll reflect the London concept—but with a Parisian twist.'

Luxury home furnishings brand RH has opened its newest location in Oklahoma City with the debut of RH Oklahoma City, The Gallery at Oak. Located within the city's premier new shopping destination, the store introduces a new contemporary design concept for RH, featuring the brand's first artisanal brick façade in a parchment-cream palette. Crafted from hand-selected Italian bricks and detailed with classic corbelling, the façade is framed by glass-and-bronze doors. 'RH Oklahoma City reflects our commitment to creating architecturally inspiring and immersive spaces that blur the lines between residential and retail, indoors and outdoors, home and hospitality. Spaces that engage all of our senses, and spaces that cannot be replicated online,' said RH chairman and chief executive officer, Gary Friedman. 'Our hope is that RH Oklahoma City, The Gallery at Oak, becomes a destination that inspires the community to dream, dine, be inspired and design.' On the main level, visitors will pass through a 27-foot threshold into the Gallery's Great Room. Visitors will find a classical arrangement of rooms presenting artistic installations of RH Collections, alongside one-of-a-kind antiques and artefacts from Friedman's world travels. Ascending a grand double staircase, guests arrive at the third-level Rooftop Restaurant. Anchored by an open focal kitchen clad in Taj Mahal stone and flanked by cascading water walls, the skylit dining space is dotted with heritage olive trees, sparkling chandeliers, and a central fountain. The restaurant opens onto a landscaped Rooftop Park inspired by classical European gardens, featuring RH Outdoor lounge areas. The second level houses the RH Interior Design Atelier, a dedicated space offering personalized design services and professional consultation. The atelier includes a private presentation room with state-of-the-art technology, design libraries showcasing a wide assortment of textiles, furniture and lighting finishes and an RH Rugs showroom.

Bob Vylan, a London-based duo which often tackles racism in its tracks, was slammed by international and British politicians after the group led the crowds in chants of "Death to the IDF" -- the Israeli military. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said after the show there was "no excuse for this kind of appalling hate speech". Avon and Somerset Police in southwest England said a "criminal investigation is now being undertaken" after reviewing "video footage and audio" of both Kneecap and Bob Vylan. "The investigation will be evidence-led and will closely consider all appropriate legislation, including relating to hate crimes," police said in a statement. The BBC apologised for not pulling the live stream of Bob Vylan's performance at the festival over the weekend. "With hindsight we should have pulled the stream during the performance. We regret this did not happen," the broadcaster said. It added that the "antisemitic sentiments expressed by Bob Vylan were utterly unacceptable and have no place on our airwaves". Media watchdog Ofcom said it was "very concerned" and the BBC had questions to answer. "We have been speaking to the BBC over the weekend and we are obtaining further information as a matter of urgency," it added. Israel's deputy foreign minister Sharren Haskel called for the public broadcaster to be investigated over the time it took for the video to be removed from the BBC's online streaming platform. "I think that the latest (BBC) statement is absolutely pathetic," Haskel told Times Radio. 'Not welcome visitors' Controversy descended on this year's festival before it even began over the inclusion of Kneecap, one of whose members was recently charged under terror legislation. During their show on Saturday, one Kneecap member also wore a T-shirt dedicated to the Palestine Action Group, which is about to be banned under UK terror laws. The chants about Israel's military were led by Bob Vylan's frontman who goes by the stage name Bobby Vylan, and were broadcast live on the BBC. Bob Vylan also chanted "free, free Palestine" and "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" -- an expression which some see as a call for Israel's destruction, but others say demands an end to Israeli occupation in Gaza and the West Bank. The United States on Monday said it would revoke visas for Bob Vylan's members, ahead of its American tour dates scheduled later this year. "Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country," Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau posted on X. 'Crossed a line' Causing a possible political headache for the UK, the Israel embassy issued a statement saying "it was "deeply disturbed by the inflammatory and hateful rhetoric expressed on stage at the Glastonbury Festival". US ambassador to the UK Warren Stephens slammed the chants as "anti-Semitic" and a "disgrace". Glastonbury's organisers said the the comments had "very much crossed a line". "We are urgently reminding everyone involved in the production of the festival that there is no place at Glastonbury for antisemitism, hate speech or incitement to violence," the festival said in a statement. Kneecap, which has made headlines in recent months with its pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel stance, also led crowds in chanting abuse against Prime Minister Starmer. Starmer and other politicians had said the band should not perform after its member Liam O'Hanna, known by his stage name Mo Chara, was charged with a terror offence. He appeared in court this month accused of having displayed a Hezbollah flag while saying "Up Hamas, Up Hezbollah" at a London concert last year. The Iran-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah and the Palestinian militants Hamas are banned in the UK, where it is an offence to express support for them.
