During the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal will move The Merchant Shipping Bill, 2024 for passage. The purpose of the Bill is to update and unify the laws related to merchant shipping in India. Meanwhile, the parliament monsoon session saw a chaotic adjournment on Wednesday, with the Opposition's protests demanding discussions on Pahalgam and Operation Sindoor, leading to the adjournment of both houses. The INDIA bloc leaders have also protested against Bihar's SIR issue outside the Parliament on Wednesday.
