Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts sign a long-term agreement with Eagle Hills
Rome – Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts is delighted to announce that an agreement has been signed for a new Bvlgari Resort & Mansions in Abu Dhabi, scheduled to open in 2030.
Bvlgari Resort & Mansions Abu Dhabi will be nestled on a private island, characterized by its horseshoe-shape, and offering breathtaking views of the open sea, a sunset view on one side, and the majestic Qasr Al Watan, and city skyline on the other.
The project will include a resort featuring 60 elegantly designed rooms and suites, along with 30 villas, each offering spectacular views of the sea, city, or tranquil coves, as well as 90 exceptional mansions of different sizes and with unique characteristics, paired with meticulously curated landscaping that offer an unparalleled blend of Italian elegance and Arabian heritage.
Bvlgari Resort & Mansions Abu Dhabi will be a unique beachfront sanctuary in the heart of the Middle East in Abu Dhabi, redefining the urban landscape. The ultimate luxury retreat will extend Abu Dhabi's iconic corniche and will be accessible via a purpose-built bridge or by sea, ensuring a seamless arrival experience and enhancing its secluded and exclusive character.
Designed as a seaside haven, it will feature marine activities and water sports, allowing esteemed patrons to explore some of the region's most pristine beaches and islands. The Emirate's flourishing art scene, prestigious institutions, and natural beauty provide an inspiring backdrop for this extraordinary project.
The construction and design project, which will be compliant with the best sustainability practices, will be curated by the Milanese architectural firm ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel. A vision shaped by Abu Dhabi's rich cultural tapestry, the resort's architecture will embody a symbolic metaphor of glass and gold emerging from the sand— with the interplay of materials and forms that reflect the Emirate's unique identity and heritage of craftsmanship and luxury.
The landscape design, entrusted to the Milanese firm LAND SRL, will feature a visionary landscape—crafted with precision, inspired by culture, and immersed in nature. Spanning across the private island, the design will be a living canvas—where dunes, gardens, and crafted forms converge in harmony, each element shaped to reflect the essence of luxury. The landscape will transition from the sculptural to the organic, from varied geometries to soft natural forms, echoing both Italian artistry and Arabian tradition. More than a setting, it will be a living, breathing experience—where tranquillity meets vibrancy, elegance meets identity, and every detail reflects a commitment to beauty, meaning, and a sense of place.
The owner of the estate and partner for the project is Eagle Hills, an Abu Dhabi-based private real estate development company, founded by Mr. Mohamed Alabbar. With 30 years of experience, Mr Alabbar has brought to life some iconic landmarks and unparalleled lifestyle destinations and has extended its operations in over 18 countries, with groundbreaking developments within and beyond the UAE. An extensive range of luxury facilities for wellness, recreation, entertainment, and dining will be available throughout the entire destination to ensure a rich lifestyle experience to all discerning guests.
The main building will feature Bvlgari's signature Il Caffè, the casual Italian restaurant, Bvlgari Dolci boutique, offering renowned 'chocolate gem' creations and Italian pastries and La Galleria, the Resort's concept store that offer a wide selection of items from hand-picked local and international designers. The spa will feature a 25-meter-long lap pool, a 1,000 sqm fitness center, and an outdoor deck studded with mesmerising views of the sea. Streaming through the center of the hotel, a landscaped sanctuary will pay an ode to the region's historical mastery of conservation and craftsmanship.
Other signature outlets across the resort will include Il Ristorante - Niko Romit o, serving contemporary Italian cuisine and curated by Italian 3 Michelin-star chef Niko Romito, the intimate and exclusive Japanese dining concept Hōseki, a refined Turkish restaurant offering a suite of Middle Eastern flavors, La Spiaggia restaurant, and the spirited Bvlgari Bar. Additionally, the resort will be a base to a state-of-the-art Yacht Club, featuring its own private beach, exclusive membership program, and a 40-berth marina that will accommodate the docking needs of the island's residents. The Yacht Club will serve as a launchpad for extensive water sports and a variety of local area experiences, including unparalleled sea excursions.
Situated on the city-side, a Ballroom dedicated to events and banqueting will complete the destination's offerings.
Residences and Mansions
The residential component of the project will include 90 private mansions, whose sizes will range between 1,650 and 2,500 sqm, and will introduce 8 estates – each with its own private beach. A selection of mansions will have their own docks that can accommodate boats up to 25-meters long, while others overlook the quaint inner cove of the island. Etihad Rail to run in UAE towns; residents say 'will feel more connected to cities'
As Etihad Rail expands through towns like Sakamkam, Al Sila, and Ruwais, residents are embracing the project with optimism. Residents believe the railway will not only make travel more accessible and affordable, but also bring a much-needed boost to tourism and the local economy. Fujairah resident Reem Al Yammahi lives in Sakamkam, which is one of the locations where a train station is confirmed to be. The railway track runs right behind her house, which will be a bonus for her, she said, because she likes to visit Abu Dhabi a lot, but the two-hour drive gets tiring. 'As a busy student, I would like to read some articles or do a quick study session, or anything other than driving in those two hours. With the railway, it would probably be even less than two hours." She added that the Etihad Rail running by her town would be 'a great way to boost the economy. I feel like it will make it easier for tourists to navigate the entire UAE because it connects main cities, and it will lessen the cost of traveling from one emirate to another.' The railway track runs through the entire country, from Fujairah Port in the east, which overlooks the Gulf of Oman, and ending at Ghuweifat in the far west of Abu Dhabi. 'I'm so excited about the project overall. I feel like it will connect everyone in the Emirates. And it's so environment-friendly,' Al Yammahi said. The project is a part of the UAE Railway Programme which aims to develop a sustainable road transport system and reduce 70 to 80 per cent of carbon emissions. Noura Almansoori, a resident in Al Sila, a city in the western-most region of Abu Dhabi, close to the border of Saudi Arabia, said she feels 'happy' about the Etihad Rail passing through her hometown, as it currently 'feels very disconnected from the UAE.' Al Sila is a town with a population of a little over 10,500, according to the Abu Dhabi Census of 2024. 'The rails might make the town people feel more connected to the other cities, including me,' she said. Almansoori said she believes the Etihad Rail will make people more aware of her small town and bring in more tourists to the western region of the UAE, 'to discover the beauty and serenity of my town,' she added. 'I imagine it being very lively and fun instead it of being very dull. I imagine younger people would like to visit,' she said when asked about the train's impact on her town. 'I imagine the town people getting their [needs] easily and becoming more connected with other parts of the country.'

100 young residents to be selected for 1,000km camel trek across UAE desert
One hundred people will be invited to take part in a 1,000-kilometre trek across the UAE desert, designed to explore and reflect on the country's heritage, customs and traditional craftsmanship. Organised by the Emirates Foundation and Active Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, the journey will be completed on foot and by camel over the course of 30 days later this year. The initiative, titled Misrah, is open to UAE citizens and residents aged 18 to 25. Participants will undergo a two-month training programme in Abu Dhabi before setting off on an expedition that will take them across the country's dunes, coastal edges and mountainous terrain. With the full itinerary to be revealed closer to the date, 500 shortlisted applicants will begin their training at Abu Dhabi's Police Camel Camp from August 19 to September 21 with the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority. The programme includes introductory courses in camel care, saddle assembly and Emirati oral storytelling, as well as folk dances including the Ayala, Al Harbiya and Taghrooda. Other sessions will cover aspects of Emirati traditional practices, including campfire gatherings and coffee preparation. Upon completion of the course, 100 participants will be selected for the journey. Registration is open to those already signed up on 'Misrah marks an inspiring milestone in our efforts to empower youth and reinforce their connection to national identity,' said Active Abu Dhabi chairman Mansour Al Dhaheri. 'We encourage young citizens and residents to take part in this exceptional experience, which will help shape their character, enhance their skills and deepen their appreciation for the richness of Emirati heritage.' Misrah follows last year's Walk 1000, a community initiative that saw 10 athletes trek 1,000 kilometres over 30 days, from Al Sila to Al Wathba in Abu Dhabi. Along the way, participants passed more than 30 cultural landmarks across the emirate. A documentary chronicling the journey is currently in production. 'Misrah is more than just an initiative; it is a message to every young man and woman that our past serves as a source of inspiration for our future,' Al Dhaheri said when announcing the programme in May. 'Health is not only physical, but also resides in the soul, connected to a strong identity and authentic community awareness.'
