Renovaro Launches AI-Based Neurotoxin Countermeasure Initiative Addressing Emerging National Security Needs

Associated Press13 hours ago

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA / ACCESS Newswire / June 30, 2025 / Renovaro Inc.'s (NASDAQ:RENB) wholly owned subsidiary BioSymetrics has unveiled a proprietary AI-based zebrafish screening platform designed to rapidly identify medical countermeasures for neurotoxic chemical agents, including weaponized substances like Sarin. The platform has been integrated into Renovaro's Defense Countermeasures Program, marking a strategic entry into the dual-use biotechnology and biodefense sector. Renovaro's platform is anchored by advanced data preprocessing coupled with in vivo toxicity testing, creating a robust, end-to-end discovery pipeline bolstered by their recently announced patent, 'Methods, Systems, and Frameworks for Unbiased Data in Drug Discovery Predictions'. This IP milestone expands the company's foundational portfolio, further protecting its machine learning infrastructure for multi-modal biomedical data integration and predictive analytics-core to its scalable drug discovery and diagnostics business.
'This is a defining moment for Renovaro as we extend the value of our AI platform from traditional life sciences into national security,' said David Weinstein, CEO of Renovaro. 'With a growing patent estate and entry into the defense market, we are unlocking new revenue channels and expanding the commercial potential of our core technologies.'
Value Drivers:
The AI-based platform which uses an inexpensive zebrafish-based model for validation of neurotoxicity predictions, delivers rapid, automated screening of over 1,000 compounds per week, significantly outpacing traditional animal models. It captures behavioural, cardiovascular, and muscular responses to neuroactive chemicals, enabling ML-driven compound triage and mechanism of action prediction. This capability is vital for both commercial CNS drug discovery and defense applications involving neurotoxic exposure.
'Investors increasingly seek companies with platforms that are both scientifically robust and commercially scalable,' said Weinstein. 'Our ability to serve large markets in biopharma and national security - each with deep funding pools and urgent unmet needs - creates a unique, de-risked growth trajectory.'

Apple Music to open a studio in Culver City

Apple Music on Monday said it's opening a three-story studio in Culver City this summer that will have a 4,000-square-foot soundstage for live performances and fan events. 'With this new studio, we are furthering our commitment to creating a space for artists to create, connect, and share their vision,' said Rachel Newman, Apple Music's co-head, in a statement. The facility spans more than 15,000 square feet and includes two radio studios for live interviews and performances, a spatial audio mixing room, booths for songwriting and podcasting, and rooms to help artists create content, Apple said in a post about the studio. The facility is located in Culver City in the Hayden Tract neighborhood. Los Angeles architect Eric Owen Moss, known for his distinctive and sculptural structures throughout Los Angeles, designed the building that houses the new studio. Apple didn't provide an exact date for the studio's opening. The new space shows how Apple, headquartered in Cupertino, Calif., has been expanding its real estate footprint in Southern California as it pushes further into the entertainment industry. The tech giant is building a new office complex on the border of Culver City and Los Angeles that is expected to house the company's television streaming service Apple TV+. Read more: Expansive offices for Apple are rising in Culver City As technology, including the frenzy around artificial intelligence, continues to reshape the way musicians and filmmakers tell stories, tech companies are emphasizing that they want to support creativity. Last year, Apple apologized after an iPad Pro ad that showed a hydraulic press crushing musical instruments such as a piano and other creative tools before the thin device was revealed, sparked backlash. While the commercial showcased Apple's thinnest product, some critics viewed it as a symbol of technology destroying creativity. Apple said the new studio will serve as the anchor for a global network of creative hubs that are already open in New York, Tokyo, Berlin, Paris and Nashville. The company said it plans to open more studios soon. Apple also announced that as part of its 10-year anniversary celebration, Apple Music Radio starting on July 1 will start counting down the service's top 500 most-streamed songs. Apple Music is also releasing a way for its listeners to see and stream the songs they've played the most since they joined the service in a "Replay All Time" playlist. NASA will start livestreaming content on Netflix later this summer

NASA is bringing live NASA+ programming to Netflix. For the uninitiated, NASA+ is the space agency's very own streaming platform. Content will begin showing up later this summer. This will be reserved for live events, with NASA saying it'll be used to stream "rocket launches, astronaut spacewalks, mission coverage and breathtaking live views of Earth from the International Space Station." NASA+ also streams original documentaries, but it doesn't look like that's part of this deal. 'The National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958 calls on us to share our story of space exploration with the broadest possible audience,' said Rebecca Sirmons, general manager of NASA+. She went on to say that the agency is committed to inspiring new generations "right from the comfort of their couch or in the palm of their hand from their phone." This won't be reserved for US residents, as NASA says it'll be available throughout the globe. This should expand the agency's reach significantly because Netflix has over 300 million subscribers all over the planet. NASA+ isn't going anywhere. It's still available through the NASA app and on the official website. The free service replaced a pre-existing cable channel.

Senate bill allowed to ‘defund' Planned Parenthood

A Senate GOP provision that would block Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood will remain in the massive tax and spending bill after the Senate parliamentarian on Monday advised the language does not violate the chamber's Byrd Rule. The ruling from Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough comes after Senate Republicans updated the provision late Friday night to change the timing of the 'defunding' from 10 years to one year. The bill's language doesn't specifically mention Planned Parenthood; it prohibits clinics and providers that offer abortions from accepting Medicaid for the other family planning and reproductive health care services they provide. But Planned Parenthood is the only organization that it applies to. The provision is estimated to cost taxpayers $52 million over the next 10 years, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO). 'Republicans just got the green light to proceed with their destructive effort to defund Planned Parenthood health centers across the country—a crushing blow to the millions of women across America who rely on Planned Parenthood clinics for basic reproductive care,' Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) said in a statement. 'Republicans' last-minute changes to shorten the timeline of this provision hardly matter—once health clinics lose funding and are forced to close their doors, they are unlikely to reopen again,' she added. The inclusion of the provision is a major victory for conservatives, who have long sought to cut off federal funding for the organization. But it could make it more difficult for on-the-fence Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) to vote for the bill, as both have expressed support for abortion rights. Planned Parenthood has said losing Medicaid funding would put at least 200 health centers across the country at risk of closure — 90 percent of them in states where abortion is legal. More than 1 million low-income people would lose access to a health care provider. It follows a Supreme Court ruling last week that paves the way for red states to deny funding to Planned Parenthood. Medicaid is prohibited from paying for almost all abortions, but states want to cut government funding for other services Planned Parenthood provides as well. If the bill were to pass, the policy would be national. 'Republicans will stop at nothing in their crusade to take control of women's bodies and deny them the right to make their own health care decisions,' Sens. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) said in a joint statement. 'Republicans are trampling the law to force their extremist ideology onto the American people.'
