PGA Championship 2025 odds, betting, lines: Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy favorites to win year's second major
Scheffler, the No. 1 ranked player in the world, is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Masters and a dominating win two weeks ago at the Byron Nelson. He has yet to win a PGA Championship but finished tied for second in 2023 and T8 last year.
Rory McIlroy ended his decade-plus majors drought and won the Masters in April, beating Justin Rose in a playoff after losing the lead down the stretch. McIlroy (+500) has the second-best odds to win the tournament at BetMGM and is the only other player in single digits.
Scheffler and McIlroy are followed on the odds board by Bryson DeChambeau (11-1) and Justin Thomas (18-1). Thomas has won two PGA Championships — the last one coming in 2022 — but has failed to make the cut in five of his last nine major appearances. DeChambeau was two shots off the lead heading into the final round at the Masters, but shot a final-round 75 to finish fifth.
Xander Schauffele (20-1) is the defending champion and is tied for the fifth-best odds with Jon Rahm.
Jordan Spieth (50-1), Dustin Johnson (100-1) and Phil Mickelson (300-1) are a few former major winners with longer odds.

Gael Monfils said he has played for the last time in Toronto after crashing out of the Masters in Sunday's opening round of the ATP Masters to a Chilean qualifier. The 38-year-old French tennis icon missed out on four match points to exit 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7/3) to number 142 Tomas Barrios Vera, who won the first Masters match of his career and ended a seven-match loss streak at the ATP level. Monfils symbolically touched the baseline as he walked off a loser after nearly three hours in torrid summer temperatures approaching 35 Celsius. "There's no explanation, it's the last one," he said. "It will be two years to play (again) in Toronto, so pretty much I won't be able to play it. Obviously I think the next one is too old for me, so I think it was the last time I'll play here." He added: "I actually thought at the end, and I was like, 'Well, I think it's, unfortunately, but the last time I think I would play here.'" Monfils had little good to say about his effort. "Without taking credit from my opponent, (it was a) bad match from my side, not the quality that I want, not the level that I want to perform," he said. Padraig Harrington wins Senior British Open for his second senior major title this year
Associated Press BERKSHIRE, England (AP) — Padraig Harrington was so focused on his game that he didn't notice a leaderboard or see Rory McIlroy walking in the gallery Sunday at the Senior British Open. He closed with a 3-under 67 to win his second senior major of the year. Staked to a two-shot lead, Harrington made eagle on the first hole on the Old Course at Sunningdale and no one got closer than two shots the rest of the way as he became the fifth player with a Senior British Open and a British Open title. He won by three shots over Thomas Bjorn (67) and Justin Leonard (68). 'I'm thrilled to have won but very satisfied that I've won a Senior Open with my two Opens,' Harrington said. 'The fact that only five people have ever done it is quite special. I'm quite proud that I've managed to survive this long in the game.' He joined Darren Clarke, Tom Watson, Gary Player and Bob Charles as players to have won the British Open and the senior version. McIlroy walked around for a bit on the London-area course, though it wasn't much of a show. Harrington seized control late in the third round and never gave anyone much of a chance. Bjorn made a late charge to get within two shots, but that ended with a bogey on the 16th. "The only time I saw a leaderboard was on 18," said Harrington, who said he asked his caddie for an update on the 17th hole. 'Was fully focused on what I was doing. The Irishman was surprised to hear McIlroy, who is building a home in London, was at Sunningdale for the final round. 'I didn't see him out there. Was he out there?' Harrington said. 'I had the head down all day. I never saw anybody. I had no idea.' Harrington now has 11 titles on the PGA Tour Champions, and he has won multiple times each of the last four seasons.
